Paul upgraded from the torch to laser welders a few years ago and hasn’t looked back. He was formerly known as the “torch guy” because there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do with it until laser welders were introduced to him. He describes the torch as a “sledgehammer” and his laser welder as a “scalpel”.

Interesting review Paul, we followed your progress and purchased a Dado, later selling it and moved onto an MS35 laser from Freeform. Loving it but very little information regarding any welding settings for the machine. Any advice for silver or gold repair settings using the MS35?

well done for upgrading definitely wont regret it my main advice would be master infilling and don't forget the black marker pen is the same as flux so can be used on silver /gold/platinum and so on plus the the touch screen with the delicate settings give amazing refined control especially around difficult jobs hope this helps

@@paulpaine3250 Hi Paul, I appreciate you taking the time to reply to me. I agree with you, infilling is the skill I need to perfect on this machine but with the setting adjustments so fine, where do I start from and then adjust down or up? Unfortunately there has not been any feedback to me from the manufacturers regarding the settings for silver and although I do use a black Sharply all of the time, I’m still blowing infill wire to pieces or if it does ‘take’ it ends up being particularly lumpy or full of holes. Trying to smooth out from this has become a bit of a nightmare too! The MS35 arrived with a silver pre-set in it’s memory of 25Kw, 0.2mm spot and 8Ms but it’s not so good… I’m a long way from offering a filling/porosity service yet!

@@KeniloTube make sure the wire is touching the surface of the job slightly flatten the wire lower the power use the black marker and increase as you go
remember its about technique
and power settings
