Exactly. That's one of the main requirements of membership is the commitment to performing a minimum number of shows a year at the opry and it's a hard commitment for some artists to keep. That's why many bigger artists aren't invited or are unable to remain a member. They just are unable or unwilling to do the number of shows required.

The Opry is trying to attract younger viewers. That's why you will continue to see the newer acts that are barely out of their professional diapers getting inducted over older performers who have busted their butts for decades to earn their spot. Same basic reason why the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame keeps inducting rappers

Taste in music is also a subjective thing. Maybe her stats are better than the others you’ve mentioned. She also sings heartfelt songs from her personal experiences.

She put out 2 albums in 2020. Also hole in the bottle went number 1 this year and she has a single in the top 10. She also put out a song with LANY this year and went on tour with the Jonas brothers. Oh she also won two CMA awards and a cmt award this year. Oh and she put out a book of poetry that she wrote. She’s doing a lot and deserves every bit of what she gets and more.

Not everyone who gets invited says yes. When someone joins they are required to do a certain amount of performances at the Opry every year. (At one time it was 26 times per year. Not sure what it is now). For many performers, especially the ones that don't live in Nashville, that's just not possible. So if you wonder why so many veteran country stars are not members of the Opry just remember that they probably were asked but had to say no.
