- Today I sit down with the legend himself Mr Steve Vai
for an in-depth conversation on his entire career.
We dive into his time with Zappa, Roth, Alcatrazz, Whitesnake and of course his history with Ibanez.
It was an honor to have Steve on the show, I really enjoyed talking to him.
See Steve out on the G3 tour right now.

Awesome getting Steve Vai on the pod🙏 Love hearing anything VH related, especially VH/DLR and guitar talk🎸
Stellar guest Dean!
Vai has been blowing my mind since Flexible came out in 84...the Attitude Song is a ripping midbender... saw Steve back in 86 with Roth, Billy Sheehan and Greg Bissonette...🤟
What a great conversation with you and steve. The stories were brilliant and you always knock it out of the park with the best questions. Thank you Dean for another awesome podcast. Cheers
thank you so much
Bringing in the Big guns. Looking forward to listening.
Had the pleasure of seeing him with Roth a few times back in the day. Also, with Whitesnake. Fantastic memories.
Thanks Dean 🙏❤️
Steve Vai 😎✌️
You are so welcome
EXCELLENT interview, man!!!! This was better than most guitar mags interviewing him!!! Thank you, brother!
thank you
I've had 3 Ibanez RGs. My current is a black multi scale fanned fret 7 string. You get ALOT of guitar for the money with Ibanez. I love them.
Wow, the most interesting Steve interview I've ever heard. Steve was at my favourite doing the Roth stuff. Dean this is a great interview. Thanks
thank you so much
Amazing interview. Thanks Dean!
thanks
Steve fucking Vai holy shit. What a master of the guitar that guy is.
Absolutely love this. Thank U!
appreciate it
Keep rockin Dean!
Congratulations
thank you
Eat Em & Smile had the same effect on me as Van Halen 1 did. Pure Fire.
killer record
Great interview, I loved it all the way through! Loved hearing you geek out over his gear at the end haha
thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ah man, can't tell you how much I love Vai :) Great episode! My first Let There Be Talk episode was the Billy Sheehan one, still churning out quality conversations - candles lit!
Holy shit!
good one
Awesome interview - even my wife my from the other room said 'what are you listening to? It sounds very interesting' Ha!
Thanks Dean, delivering great content as always. Hope you can have Nuno Bettencourt on some day.
glad you dig it
Sick one ☝️ \../ 🔥
thank you
Dean, I gotta hand it to you. You consistently have the coolest guests. I have no idea how you dont have a couple million followers to this channel. I will share the channel. Have you talked with Joey Diaz lately? He and Lee have a new podcast. The check-in.
RIP Steve’s Friend Joe Dispagni
It may be taboo to say, but if Roth isn’t able to do it I’d love to see just one last short tribute tour to the Eat’m and Smile band and get someone like Corey Taylor.
Those two DLR records loom large for me . Ladies Night In Buffalo and Two Fools A Minute.....c'mon ! Groove deluxe and playing that is off the hook.
Rock on!
