Good video, thank you. 22 SM myself. One thing I can say to everyone, KEEP the stock chain cover on the swingarm. I put an aftermarket one on my White SM and all the chain grease is under my fender! lol
At roughly 4:40 is where I show the measurements. Want to use a tape measure or caliber and I measure at the rivets. Pull down and start your measurement there and push up until the chain is tight and that’s your slack. My camera messed up the previous footage where I showed it in more detail. I had to just do a over view with the different footage.
Top notch instructor, thanks for the detailed explanation. This video really helped me learn.
Thanks for this. I wasn't sure if the chain guide needed removal to check chain tension.
No problem. Ya I don’t think you need to remove it. Doesn’t say so in the book.
I didn’t know the SM had a different swingarm chain tension setup than the S. I have cam tensions on the 2015 s.
Honestly didn’t know the S model was any different. Haven’t seen one up close
@66Moto my understanding is that the SM has the same swingarm as the RM. As well as the same shock tubes, but the RM forks don't have the speedo.

Thank you :) they are awesome bikes. Haha ya I could see that making a mess for sure. Especially on a white bike.
What was the in spec factory numbers for the chain?
Couldn't see a thing when you did your chain measurement?

@@66Moto thanks
Is it the same on the S? I have an 08 400s.
I believe it’s the same on the S. only difference is the sprocket size and wheel size.
Too bad your hand was completely in the way during your measurement.
Thank for feed back. I’ll adjust angles next time.
