Correction for the start of the video, vJoy works with SteamVRWheel to create inputs to emulate a wheel. I should write scripts for videos like these beforehand...
I threw this together in an a few hours, no script, just a basic structure in mind. I also haven't recorded something like this in a while, so I'm sorry that the video is a bit rough around the edges.
would like to see your settings so i can fiddle with them on my own rig. it would help a lot
Sure thing.

I haven't played Assetto/tweaked my settings in a bit, so things may or may not be a bit funky wunky.
@@peyton_uwuOMG tried everything on vjoy unsinstalled and re installed but it doesnt pick up my meta quest 3 controllers. Also problem with steer vr wheel document it sez path not found. Im on windows 11 could that be a possible problem?
Dude you are a legend I am subscribing to you for this video, thank you!
Didnt even know this was possible, But now that i know it is i definitely will try it out because why not :)
Mhm, it's pretty fun, but it is fatiguing because you're holding your hands in the air, and you still don't have an individual shifter/pedals. Pretty fun otherwise.
When I go to the "Patch" menu there's nothing there? Help please!
i did everything in the video but vjoy monitor doesnt show anythinh, same for CM
I cant seem to get any of it to work
I have the rift cv1
Its not picking anything up in vjoy
Thanks for tutorial! I have a question - I get a big ugly stearing wheel in view with questionable "hands" holding it and it really messes up the immersion. What do I have to check to make it disappear (like in your video it's just some lines)?
Run the "steam-vr-wheel-configurator.bat" file, in there you can disable that and tweak some other settings, like the steering degrees, rumble feedback, and some other stuff.
I dunno where the lines came from tbh, maybe it's a CSP setting...
@@peyton_uwu thanks, found it. Lines seams to be from Patch in CM. Played for two days and decided to order an used wheel. It seems your video is the only one on YT on this topic, it should get more views, as it worked for me from the first try)
A used wheel is definitely more better then this method, as holding your arms in the air can be quite fatiguing. The only reason this method is useful is if you somehow get your hands on a headset but can't afford a wheel setup, which is why this program is pretty niche. I got my Quest 2 from a good friend for free since she was upgrading her whole setup and was getting an Index, and many other people get Quest 2s either for cheap or as gifts.
And yeah, that's the reason why I made this video, is because nobody else made one, there's only a few demos up of people using it but they get buried in the search by videos of people using VR with wheel setups.
I'll probably be remaking the video sometime in the future though, since this one is kinda scuffed and doesn't cover as many things as I'd like. I knew that while making it but just wanted to get something out there.
@@avelkm patch in content manager?
@@rudeusnakal Asseto corsa has a software content manager (it's 3rd party it seems) that everyone uses to tweak settings. Don't remember where I have found this setting but think its in "Custom Shader Patch" options somewhere (which you probably should install or enable through Content Manager.
how do i fix the stupid ugly hands and virtaul red wheel
8:10 leaving this here for myself when I forget how to start it up again
the nothing happens when i click any of my controller buttons, cant even configure any controls, any fix?
How do i remove the ugly yellow structer on teh hand's
hey man i have a question, whenever i try to connect my G920 to the game in vr it never works for some reason and i was wondering if u knew how to fix it and if u do respond thank you.
My only experience with a wheel was when my friend/ex-roomate hooked up his G27 and it worked flawlessly. I'd look elsewhere for guides/help, there's probably a Reddit thread or two with people who've had the same problem.
@@peyton_uwu ok tysm for responding and i found a way and it worked so ty.
@@x0t1ccchow did you go about using the free hands and wheel at the same time?
hey is not working vjoy moniter
OMG tried everything on vjoy unsinstalled and re installed but it doesnt pick up my meta quest 3 controllers. Also problem with steer vr wheel document it sez path not found. Im on windows 11 could that be a possible problem?
Vjoy monitor isn't doing anything when I open it as if I'm not connected
I need help when I open the steam vr wheel bat it does not do anything
I can’t figure out how to do it with my valve index knuckle controllers does anyone know how to do this. I have everything setup but my grip axis won’t register as the grip button for steering
When I do this, it shows a second wheel? Larger one, is there a way to remove this
steam vr wheel configuration,. disable hands and wheel overlay
Hey bro I see the applications virtual steering wheel and I can steer it but it doesnt steers inn game do you know why?
You probably have to set the proper vJoy device or something...?
@@peyton_uwu Does wheel.bat appears as new device?
is there a way to let go from the steering wheel or are the hands always attached?
You use the grip buttons to attach your hands to the steering wheel, and can choose from a single hand or using both hands.
Your grip buttons will also be permanently bound to gripping the steering wheel.
@@peyton_uwu That didn't work for me, and the steering is really slow. My hands aren't stuck to the wheel unless I stop moving my hands
could we hide this green and yellow lines?
can you help, everything works but when I accelerate the game knows I'm accelerating but the car doesn't move
Try switching gears
can you do it with euro truck if its possible ive seen the guy who developed the steam vr app on it but no tutorial
If I had the game... the only car game I play is Assetto and BeamNG, which I might also do a demo for. Also My Summer Car, but I barely play that and It most likely doesn't have VR support, and I'm not about to try and mod that into the game myself.
I don't see what'd be holding you back from using this same method with Euro Truck though, as all SteamVRWheel does is emulate a wheel axis input, so if you can edit your keybinds and the game supports a wheel input, then it should work.
why do I get: cloud error unknown on steam vr after running the steam-vr-wheel.bat file
i have uninstalled and reinstalled but it still does not fix the controllers not being usable on monitor vjoy
Start the Steam client and select the game that gives you the error.
Under Cloud Status, click Out of sync.
Click Retry Sync in the Unable To Sync window.
Wait until the Out of sync option changes to Up to date.
Does this count as accelerating too I haven’t bought the game yet.
Hi, when I want to adjust the steering wheel via steam vr wheel in assetto corsa it doesn't turn smoothly like you but it goes immediately from side to side, what to do? And it's the same in the vjoy monitor
Most likely you need to configure your steering degrees within SteamVRWheel.
Thanks for the tutorial! I followed every step and I got my wheel working but for some reason none of my other bindings work in game. I can steer but I just cant move the car due to the throttle not working. Its weird cus it picks it up in settings when i bind it just not in the actual game
when i steer with controllers... the actual game wheel steers sooo little, i cant seem to know why..!
Run the steamvrwheel config file, you edit the rotation degrees there.
I can't bind any controls (Steering, Throttle, Brakes and Handbrake) can anyone help? I think it's because of the VR Wheel CMD file. (I can still see the steering wheel on Steam VR)
Edit: It doesn't even detect my VR controlers (I'm on Oculus Quest 2)
I'm sorry, but I have no clue how that'd happen. My only guess would be to make sure that vJoy is running, maybe re-install it or something. This is just weird.
Me to cat figure it out. And when I open document steer vr wheel it sez path not found. Er.N1 have you solved your problem?
@@paulsinclair6672 I haven't solved the problem :/
@@K4RM4T il try n figure it out if I do I will inform ya
so do you use air link/link cable
I've only ever used Air Link, but there shouldn't be a difference when using the cable since everything works through SteamVR.
everything work but i can rotate helpppp please(
background song?
thank you man u are so good
I can'Hey really good tutorial but there no Clutch in Patch
mine doesnt have the .bat next to them??
Enable "show file extensions" in file explorer.
i cant bind the throttle and brake it wont assign a button on my vr controllers
It could be something wonky with vJoy, make sure it's set to 32 buttons, and if Content Manager doesn't allow you to bind stuff, try assigning the binds in a different settings menu, with how you have to assign the clutch/handbrake.
@@peyton_uwu what different settings menu?
At 5:45, where I show how to assign handbrake/clutch.I go from the "axis" settings menu to the "buttons" settings menu.
Does this work without pedals too?
yeah...?
i wasn't using pedals, and if somebody had pedals, they'd probably have a wheel as well lol
this is a tutorial on how to rotate the wheel with your oculus controller in game or is this how you work your actual wheel?
VR controllers
Does you HAVE to have the content manager to make this work. Anyone have any luck setting this up just within assetto corsa native? I also just want to play on quest 2 with an xbox controller, but this seems to be impossible.
Then this isn't the video for you, since all you want is a VR video output, this guide is about something different.
I also don't see why you'd want to use native Assetto, content manager is superior in just about every way, and is what allows you to easily configure settings. There's a reason why everybody uses it over native Assetto.
didn't work
hi one tuto for handtraking
Just asking when is the next video? I like your content a lot!
Hah, I have no idea.
I said I'd remake this video but I'm not sure when that's going to happen, I do have alot of footage just gathering dust on my hard drive so I might try and make a video every 1-2 weeks if I can... time will tell though.
@@peyton_uwu Well I'll be looking towards the next video good luck.
my wheel is turning so slow anyone help me pls?
Run the steamvrwheel config file, you edit the rotation degrees there.
Yo get better audio equipment if you are going to be doing youtube!!!
I have a Blue Yeti on an arm with a pop filter, but at the time I wasn't able to configure it correctly.
Now I have all my settings dialed in + a denoiser VST plugin running with Voicemeeter, so things sound wayyy better now.
@@peyton_uwu Brian Blessed is the only man alive who doesn't need settings. Thought I'd share that.
i cant see the wheel bat can u help???
