That would be kinda funny if there was a feature where your luck was so bad that it inverted and you just have sudden pockets of ungodly luck.

I love how the Ultra Luxe is usually very formal but in the case of winning too much they are the most rude and straight up tell you to leave immediately

If you never did a high-luck New Vegas playthrough, you did it wrong
You can max out all of the casinos with 6 or 7 luck, it just takes a whole lot longer.
@@fraserlaidlaw7358 I know, but for roleplaying purposes (the game is also not THAT difficult!). Also the extra crit chance and +5 to All Skills is nice.

That's my first run on New Vegas, All Out Luck Build
Explosives are the only weapons that don't lose out on most of their DPS without a high luck crit build. I'm amazed at how many people never realize that much.
Breaking the Sierra Madre is like pulling a cheatcode because of the amount of stimpaks and .308 ammo that you get

Charisma is a useless perk in new Vegas.
So I recommend 9 luck and you can use the 6 points on whatever the hell you want

My favorite build of all time in New Vegas will always be the lucky idot build. 1 intelligence and 10 luck make for a fun time. I nickname it "The Forest Gump Experience" build. I also include a 10 agility with that.
10 strength, 1 perception,
7, endurance, 1 charisma, 1 intelligence, 10 agility, 10 luck

I will stand by 10 luck to begin with. It's literally the best strat for early game. Get all sorts of crazy loot, crits every time, and infinite caps
I'll stick with 9 luck considering it's easy enough to get the luck implant
7 or 8 strength, 10 intelligence and 9 luck. the others dont really matter.
Crit builds in New Vegas are pretty damn nasty and pretty easy to pull off early game.
i much prefer picking the early bird so i can spread out my stats and still manage to get near 10, i drain strength and put 8 to intelligence and luck and charisma and the early bird does its thing and theyre 10 now

You get like 100000 caps worth of Pre war currency from the madre casino.
The gold bars are heavy but Pre-War money ways nothing, and it’s easy to break down.
But you have to save the gold for very expensive purchases. It’s also difficult to get the gold out without something like Turbo.
Why not carry both. Grab everything that isn’t nailed to the floor (base game and DLCs) , drag it all back to Vegas, sell it all to the gun runners. Walk into the silver rush. Bath room strats. And then remember that you can also get 10 in all specials (thanks to guides)
I barter gold bars for pre-war money from holographic merchants. It's absolutely real to go out of Sierra Madre without gold bars at all.
I remember my last time playing SM all the hoops i had to jump through to get those damn gold bars, killing Elijah and putting his head through the forcefielded doorway to loot him before i run outside
An easy way to get all the gold bars I did is if you take all of them and sneak to the electrical turbine right next to the stairs Elijah walks out of after the speech check to get him to meet you, you can sneak and wait for him to go to the vault terminal and then you can sneak your way out and lock him in while making out with all his loot at the same time. It’s easily the most satisfying ending since you outplay him and leave Elijah in the madre with nothing, if you have a stealth boy it’s even easier to do. The bathtubs in my lucky 38 room are filled to the tops with gold bars and pre war money 😂
@@Commrade-DOGE If you are using guides to get 10 in all specials, you may as well just console command 10 for all. save a lot of time while intentionally breaking the game.
I have 700 hours in this game (that’s not counting my ps3 hours). And I just today found out vikki and Vance could be re-opened. I’m such a sick fuck I’d almost always shoot Jonathan after he made me pay for the info for the ncrcf quest so maybe that’s why.
It took me eight years. Even then, I learned through RUclips.
This isn't even a hidden quest, its basically still in the tutorial, you two are just dumb or something lol

7 base luck is enough. you can get 1 extra luck with the implat to get it to 8 and then get the lucky shades for 9

S7, P4, E8, C1, I5, A6, L9 is my build, after the first Casino fleecing, go get the Luck implant.

it lends to only TWO of the 13 skills, Barter and Speech, so those points are better spent elsewhere, especially when no great perks require Charisma, you can raise your Speech as you level up and become everyone's worst nightmare when they decide to pick a fight with you.

@@creed1741 charisma literally does nothing except maybe 2 checks ingame, any negative effect from low charisma can be countered by just putting points in speech and barter

To be fair you gotta be pretty lucky, or Benny a terrible shot, to survive getting Maria'ed to the head at the start of the game
The last play through I had was a max luck/crit, it’s unbelievable how fast you make money and kill enemies. Plus you never run out of ammo. Luck is a broken stat in NV
I usually go for 8 or 7 Luck. Because by the time I make it to Mick & Ralph’s I can pick up the Naughty Nightwear in their secret room inside the cage, and by the time I gather enough money I can purchase the Luck implant.
If you're willing to be all buddy, buddy with the Legion for a bit, you can also pick up the Lucky Shades from the Legion safehouse. Put luck at 7, get all the other stuff. Get max luck and put your points everywhere else.
Elevenish years and still going... I'll probably stop playing new vegas someday, but it ain't happened yet 😎

I start with 9 luck and get 10 through implants.
Can also do 7 luck, get 1 from implant, kill lucius for his key to get the lucky shades, and wear naughty nightware

I just tested to see if Lucius has the key on him both before interacting with the legion outside of Caesar and after the player has talked with Lucius one time with liked reputation. In either case, Lucius does not have the key to the safehouse in his inventory meaning liked reputation with Caeser's Legion is still the only way to get lucky shades to my knowledge. The Wiki also backs this up. Regardless, you are still correct, just have to take a longer route to get there! I was fully erect there for a moment for sure.

For you penny pinchers out there - 8 luck is enough. The "probability calculator" from the New Vegas Clinic adds +1 to luck as does the "Naughty Nightwear". Both are easily obtainable within the first hours of gameplay. Go rob those casinos and spend two points somewhere else ;) (And yes, I know about the "Lucky Shades", but these are far harder to get your hands on)
Not the fastest, but most efficient and interesting way: Do some early starter quests, level up and get some gear to make your way to New Vegas (no need to exploit the invisible cazador route or other shenanigans...). Just enjoy the game. Do Primm, wait a week somewhere else, return, defeat the mercenaries, go away and wait a week, return and rob the V&V blind. Maybe get your hands on ratkiller early on and then proceed to New Vegas. Go to Mick & Ralph's, get the Naughty Nightwear and head over to the Atomic Wrangler. Rob them blind! Congratulations, you are now officially rich.
Make your way to New Vegas Clinic, slap 4k caps on the table and get the probability calculator. Head back to the strip, pay the 2k entrance fee to the strip (not because you have to, but because you CAN) or, if you are dirt cheap, use the bloody monorail. Don't use the king to get on the strip, you need his boon later on in the game! From then on it's just gambling until you are so f****ng rich that nothing matters anymore.
And by the time you are broke again, because you spend everything on exotic weapons, well - there is still the Sierra Madre, isn't it.
That's an interesting way to play it. I find the idea of having a character who is a gambling addict trying to get into the Sierra Madre Casino just because he has nowhere else to gamble in hilarious.

honestly I could see the argument for not allowing 10 luck on certain challenge runs simply because it's so easy to become so rich you never need to worry about caps again. Just by doing the casinos you can easily get like 80k caps and just never have to worry about being unable to buy stims or food or water ever again it's kind of insane
you must never wear hard to repair armor, that shit is expensive to upleep.
