The early and mid 70's were so much fun. I wouldn't trade my memories of that time for anything, a fabulous time to be alive. Keep smilin', keep on truckin' :D
great childhood memories. one thing people tend to forget is as a kid you want to enjoy it have fun and be entertained. your not worried if it's silly or terrible or if it is state of the art effects. plus anything in the early days of TV was trial and error naturally over time you will improve something. back then you couldn't expect it to be perfect or like todays TV shows. I only speak for myself but as a kid growing up I wasn't worried if the show was great or not.. I just enjoyed watching it.
when I was like 6 years old, so like 1994), they replayed this on the cartoon network and I loved it. I think I was the only kid in my kindergarten class in the 90s who really liked this show lol
Because Scott was gonna make a fnaf movie for Warner bros but Scott was taking too long so he moved to blumhouse, but Scott didn’t want anyone to take his scripts so he allowed them to use it to make banana Splits..
I would've still made it a horror movie, but with the Splits as the protagonists, Bingo tearing down hoards of zombies with that huge grin to happy 60s music would be a sight to behold!
IF you noticed , in the ending credits...there is very well known voice actor...who later made it even Bigger as the original of "Tiggr"...Paul Winchell.
2:10 It’s been confirmed. Someone kidnapped the real Banana Split and stuffed them in a closet somewhere, and built robot counterparts of them for the movie.
The Banana Splits so funny and hip too. Bingo, Fleggie, Droper and Snorky brought the best out of me every Saturday as well as with Arabian Knights and the 3 Musketeers. RIP, Bill Hanna and Joe Barbara the heroes of Saturday cartoons

This almost scared me as a kid yet somehow thought it was neat at the same time. Now looking at it I am impressed. That is a lot of fast cut editing and speed changes. They did a great job making live action look cartoony and fun. That song is really catchy. Recording part of it at the amusement parks really gives it a big budget feel and no doubt adds to the fun. The camera work is good. As wacky as this is and old, I doubt any live action kids shows since can beat it
IT IS A SHAME THAT THEY HAVE TRANSFORMED AN ICONIC CHILDREN'S SERIES IN ITS TIME, INTO A HORROR MOVIE, THAT SUCH TWISTED MINDS SEEM LIKE THEY NEVER HAD A CHILDHOOD!!!!
Supposedly the story was that Warner Bros. had a fully functional FNAF script with intent to make a FNAF movie, but had the license bought right out from under them by Blumhouse. So they were stuck with two options. Throw the script out and lose a tiny amount of money, which Hollywood accounting would bury somewhere so they wouldn't actually take a loss, OR just slap a WB owned IP on it, replace every instance of the character names, and barely change anything else. They went with the latter. Though instead of getting a theatrical release, they're just going to bury it on their streaming service.
That's just the story that's going around, though. Seems likely to me since the one take away from The Banana Splits is that they aren't robots. They're guys in big mascot suits. If it's not the case it was a reused script, it's pretty lazy to just make them FNAF type robots. If they really needed to make this a horror franchise, they should have made the guys in the costumes serial killers or something.

We need a reboot where there is no horror and it is kid friendly again
Yes
In the non horror reboot, we should use the 1970’s costumes, they look way more detailed than the 2008 ones in my opinion
Maybe not the living mop Snorky outfit though, maybe the really fluffy Snorky outfit
That would have been snorkey ✨ cause’ in the horror movie snorkey helps the childen escape🏆

I like these Banana Splits when people are in costume, instead of animatronic robots.
1960: "We are the Banana Spilts!"
2019: "We are now killer animatronics!"
At first, I thought the take was a fnaf parody
Ikr. Why couldn't they just stick to the original source material. It would have been way better.
The least they could’ve done is make cheap simple cartoons for these characters and put them on Disney Junior.
