      @ChameleonAcademy  3 года назад +1

      @@stevenschultz9966 i have not purchased a chameleon from Petco. I have seen some very healthy ones there and some on death’s door. So, as long as you know the signs of a healthy chameleon, you can find a good one there. But the care the chameleons get are very much dependent on the competence of the reptile department manager. So just go in knowing what to look for!

  • @tattd_snw_wht
    @tattd_snw_wht 2 года назад

    My first chameleon was a Jackson’s. I got a panther chameleon afterwards and realized Jackson’s are a bit more tricky to care for at least with my experience. My Igor is showing signs of illness even though I have brought him to the vet a few times. When one issue resolved, another pops up. I need to reevaluate my husbandry. ☹️ I have followed the husbandry guide from the facebook group. Idk what I’m doing wrong. 🥺

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  Год назад

      yes, keep them separate. Chameleons should not. be housed together. Here s a link to a more comprehensive care video that may help. ruclips.net/video/9d9WPvR7Y_E/видео.html

    Can u mate a boy rainbow boy with a regular Jackson female?

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  2 года назад

      I do not know how closely related they are. It is possible it could work though. That said this is not something we should do. While imports are available we should keep them separate and leave hybridization only for the day in the future when we have no choice. It will happen soon enough. If we hybridize now then we reduce the amount of time we have with them after imports stop.

    Can't adult pair live together in properly made enclosure though?

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  Год назад

      There will be a point where the enclosure will be big enough and set up well enough to allow cohabitation to be stress free. But that point is way beyond the size of standard commercially available enclosures or even hand built cages.

I can not find a Jacksons chameleon in my country. If you know a breeder in europe, i politely ask for theyre email or some sort of contact. Thank you.
