NATSUMI (斎藤夏美) embarrasses MISAKI (田森美咲) on purpose, in front of her crush HIKARU (太田光る). NATSUMI is one of the worst members in TERRACE HOUSE history. She constantly gets into fights with the other girls. In this case she asks HIKARU if he likes lingerie and what he finds attractive in a woman. That doesn't sound so terrible, except for the fact that MISAKI had just worn lingerie in front of HIKARU the day before---for the first time. It was very awkward and embarrassing for both of them. MISAKI confided in NATSUMI saying that her plan to seduce HIKARU by wearing sexy loungewear in front of him had backfired. So NATSUMI took the opportunity (when all 6 roommates are at dinner) to basically discuss the embarrassing event in front of both MISAKI and her crush HIKARU. Thereby further adding to the humiliation. NATSUMI did this intentionally and without remorse. She basically enjoyed the fact that MISAKI had lost her status as the IT-girl in the house and that HIKARU was no longer showing any interest in her.

Yeah she's absolutely 100% BPD or NPD. Had terrible luck with roommates in my life so had a lot of experience with these disorders and the way they act is identical to Natsumi. They do the exact same thing with their eyes. They direct their hostility through their gaze and you can tell as well they're making calculations in every conversation to achieve some sort of goal of either control over someone else or putting someone else down or self-aggrandizing.

I had a lot of bad feeling about her during the "incident" with Minori already, but the second time just cemented my feelings. I have just recently watched these episodes and can't wait until I reach the ones where she leaves the house :o

Natsumi’s malicious intent is so bad it’s almost comical. I would expect her to be the stereotypical mean girl in a movie. Her mannerisms and facial expressions LOL
Omg I rewatched terrace house …Natsumi is definitely narcissistic and I think she’s really jealous of the girls in the house. She did repeat many times in the show that she didn’t care about people’s love lives and that it was a boring topic to talk about. I believe she always tried to sabotage people’s relationships like Minoris, Misaki and even Hansan!! So yeah everything she said it was intentional it’s not because she couldn’t read the room or whatever . I think Natsumi was unhappy seeing people fall in love and she never wanted to feel happy for others. I think on camera she pushed herself to be like a coach to others for her image. That’s why Misaki said she doesn’t know who the real Natsumi is. Natsumi was always engaged on camera but probably off camera she didn’t care about people 🤔🤔

It’s interesting that no one has mentioned hikarus reaction at 1:34 he says loungewear twice as If to say “ are you sure ?” for misakis sake but then joins in near the end. I saw a similar pattern with him apologising to Uchi. He seems to want to do the right thing most of the time but might not committed to it.
I agree. I don’t think Hikaru is a bad guy, I think he’s just broadly misunderstood.

Sometimes I wonder like Natsumi can't be that clueless right? Like she can't not realise what's she's doing and how this conversation would hurt or upset Misaki. Now that I know terrace house had some staged scenes I do wonder if the producers asked her to say these things.
I don’t really believe that scenes were staged. Although I do understand that there were perhaps times when the producers encouraged confrontation.
But Natsumi is so unapologetically narcissistic I don’t think she needed any coaxing. She is a distinctly confrontational individual and she wasn’t oblivious to the conflicts she created. She seemed to enjoy it.
Maybe she has asperger syndrome or is somewhere in the autism spectrum and manages very poorly on social situations...?
@@TheKrowningTouch According to staff and members as well as leaked text- they where instructed in at least some scenes. Hana Kimura commited suicide cause of one staged scene according to text and conversation with Kai.

Misaki bought lingerie to casually wear around the house in front of Hikaru. But when she wore it, it was incredibly awkward. Her plan to seduce him failed miserably.
She told Natsumi about it and Natsumi decided to bring up the painful and embarrassing moment in front of the whole group.
Arman and Hansan are the only two people at the table who didn’t know about the incident and don’t understand what is going on.
Hence: Natsumi is intentionally trying to humiliate Misaki by making her look bad in front of her crush.

Natsumi is jealous of Misaki and so she decides to humiliate her in front of the guy she likes: that's the simplest explanation.

Now that I watch this again, I think Misaki misunderstood what was being said. When Natsumi was saying you wouldn't do that at Terrace House, they were talking about just wearing a white t shirt which no one would do. Not the normal lounge wear that Misaki was wearing.
I think that’s a mighty generous interpretation. Natsumi brought up loungewear very specifically. Nobody mentioned lingerie until she did: she kept pressing the issue. I think the intent is obvious...
@@TheKrowningTouch regardless of why she started the subject the most offensive part was her saying you wouldn't do that in terrace house and even Misaki took offense to only that part. But the conversation had already moved to Arman liking girls wearing only a shirt which is what Natsumi was talking about when she said that.
Misaki took offense to the intent of the conversation: which was to make her look bad. Natsumi took the information she was told in confidence and brought it up in a group setting. Why? To embarrass Misaki.
You’re picking out an arbitrary part of the conversation to try and come to Natsumi’s aid, which is something a lawyer might do when they don’t have much of a case.
Remember that when Natsumi moved in it seemed like she was going to be popular. The boys talked about her cute accent and she felt entitled to that attention. But then Misaki and Riko moved in and everyone lost interest in Natsumi.
This conversation is her way of dealing with the threat posed by Misaki.
I rewatched after you said that and I think you're right. That her saying you wouldn't do that could've been to Armans white top only comment but I don't think it excuses that she brought up loungeware in the first place. She shouldn't have brought that up specifically especially in front of Misaki.

If you’ve watched the whole season you’ll notice that Natsumi is a bully, a Narcissist and a classic “mean girl”.
