It's a common problem for festivals. Any show that gets streamed live just gets shit sound, even though it can sound great at the show itself. A good example is Sabaton at Wacken '15. Absolutely killer sound at the show. Not so much when you see the recording.
Their sound has been shitty the last 3 times I saw them. Guitars barely audible and thin, and everything off with the levels. Idk what the deal is. I saw them at the Palladium in Hollywood a few years back for the Koi No Yokan tour, and they sounded amazing. Also saw them before that for the Diamond Eyes tour and they were great. But lately, total crap. And I adore this band too. Its a shame.

I don't get how people can possibly say they're bad live! I think most people just aren't perceptive enough to differentiate a bad mix from a bad performance. Music is all magic to your average person, and if the illusion isn't pulled off I guess it's off-putting. It's a shame, we lose so much raw and inspiring music/ performance because of this endless obsession with un-obtainable perfection. Go back to watching American Idol and stop hassling real bands.

Welcome to every fucking concert video ever nowadays, it sucks right? It wouldn't be hard to multi-track and mix this properly.. You can watch live videos from the 70's and the audio quality was infinitely better. I feel like good production/ live engineering is a dying breed thanks to all these old bastards who don't give a fuck and new bastards who follow the old bastards.
