All right, when you buy a use vehicle it is with the understanding it is "as is." That being said, if the seller writes in the ad, "no issues," then as is and no issues means it shouldn't have problem number one. You can sue and win; the seller is guilty of fraud, and ithe no issues statement in the ad proves this.

    UPDATE AT END:
Fortunately this is getting fixed at no cost to me. (as it is obvious undiscovered prior damage from rust).
But not long after I took possession of my H2 I discovered a 12in x 8in hole underneath the drivers feet from rust. One of the previous owners had removed the floor mats and likely let salt and the water (from snow and leaking marker lights) sit until It completely ate through the floor. I was going through cleaning the carpet when I fortuantely discovered this.
For anyone looking to purchase an H2 or any vehicle really, take some extra time to look under the carpets. The carpet and padding was so thick that you couldn't even tell with standing on it, and with the side steps on you couldn't tell looking from below (as there is very little evidence of rust on the frame and body in general) and the road grime on the padding matched the rest of the floor.
UPDATE: I no longer own this vehicle as the dealership could not repair the extensive damage they also discovered. Aka what firewall?

You are definitely proof of buyer beware and to absolutely have a mechanic take a look at it!!!

@@gasholesgarage5083 I actually am a mechanic, fabricator, and welder. I'd of fixed it myself but the dealership was/is legally bound to correct it under this states law (based on what was stated on the buyers guide). In addition the service department that originally looked over the vehicle was legitimately surprised by it as all other surfaces are just very light surface rust or factory undercoat.
The service manager wanted to buy it, his words to me when I showed him the hole was. "Holy S"
Now if anything else occurs I am more than happy to take care of it myself as I enjoy having projects. Only shame is I have to wait to use it until it's fixed.
That being all said I know this could have easily turned out different, but I suspect it could of been overlooked by a shop unless they took a stick and started poking around. Or if someone had taken it through a carwash.

@@danielkapp9468 It sounds to me like your very lucky. Most people would just be shit out of luck. My main project right now is my Porsche. So modifications will have to wait awhile. But my H2 plans for the future include a supercharger, Monster 4l80e trans and big brake kit.

@@gasholesgarage5083 Yea, I'm also eventually planning on upgrading the transmission as it's just the ol el crap'o 4l60e. Currently It still works, and I should be able to get a good year or two before it actually warrents replacement. I'm researching options, but tenative plan is to try for either a 4L85e, 6L90e, or even a modern 10L90e depending on if I keep the stock 6.0 (or find an 8.1 and transmission source).
Though honestly I'd actually like to convert it over to an Isuzu 5.2 Diesel with an Aisin 465, why that setup? No real reason besides I found them to be good, reliable, and decent on fuel economy when I used to daily drive box trucks for FedEx (still need to look up the maintance side of that setup though). My overall goal is not some gas hungry HP heavy beast of a rig to pull a mountian and then some (would be fun as hell to build, but I don't want to be poor!). Instead I'd like to aim for a more budget friendly, torque when needed, weekend offroad, camping and occasional tow rig.

H2s are cheap in USA... Here in Europe, the cheapest one is around 27k$ and the gas prices are higher. 🙂

@@gasholesgarage5083 Thanks it helped that my friend has a dealer license that's why I bought it so cheap. However, I did replace the entire suspension and put a small cam, redid the heads and replaced the rear main seal. The Hummer was stored for 5 straight years. An Arny officer owned it. He left his information in the Hummer; he was station and Guantanamo and there was a storage cargo receipt where they kept the Hummer. Crazy. But the Hummer is solid man, in and out 9 out of 10 both inside and out. Got lucky on this one.

Yeah but this thing needed everything!!! Buying a used vehicle there is always going to be things that need fixing. The scary thing is that we found all that stuff in a hour that we had it. imagine what we would of found if we had it longer. But the H2 I did purchase is awesome with good cats and exhaust already. Yes it does have a couple small problems but i'm working on them:)
