Never thought of sucking the air out of the bladder similar to what you did with the LPI hose, brilliant!

Just make sure your bladder is relatively clean and take shallow breaths, you don't want to breath moldy air

Thank you for the video, this is exactly my kit except I have the emotion plus drysuit and it is pretty great to see roughly, how much it will weigh all packed up.
I also love my santi bags, but since I have heard from several friends that their gear got stolen, after the bags were handed over to the airline, I am super careful about expensive looking name brands on luggage.
Sure it helps to have insurance, but I wouldn’t want to risk traveling to a dream dive location just to find out that my dive gear and or camera gear have disappeared.
But good to see that it can go well and the gear makes to to the destination, even if it does have an expensive label on it. :-)👍

@7:37 you put a "Sling" in the bag. What is on the sling? I can see what looks like three finger spool and couple of sets of wet-notes and id assume some double enders. But anything else?
Also, as most airlines allow 23kg, depending on your primary, I usually pack my light head and just have the battery in my carry-on, to make carry-on a little lighter. But that's me.
Nice video either way. Safe travels!

      Double ender
      Right pocket:
Wetnotes ( one for cave one for ow, I carry different ones depending if I am teaching ow or cave )

1x teaching pigtail with Arrows Rems and cookies

The same priciple applies, except there is a bagges fee, grey bag fee, extra strap fee, logo on bag fee, and remember to add an Airtag so you can tjek where your bag is at all time ;-)

Dive computer and regs OK in check-in luggage? I hear different recommendations depending on who I ask...

    • @UTD_ScubaDiving
      @UTD_ScubaDiving  6 месяцев назад

If packed protective, the regs should be good. I usually dive with a simple bottom timer if I dive OC and when I dive CC its the Shearwater computer that is attached to the head. ( i travel with the head in my handluggage. But most computers are fine to keep in checked luggage. Check the manufacturers advice. Some computers on the market have a fly-mode.

I would not recommend ever sucking air OUT of a wing. You can get some really dangerous bacterial/fungal infections in your lungs that way. A guy died from a bacterial infection in his lungs doing that not long ago.

Good point! Definitely rinse out the bladder every so often. 🙏 thanks for the comment

I never take my wing off because of the hassle of putting it back together, but I think I’ll start just to save some space.
Maybe a video on quickly assembling after you arrive? The more tools I need the more likely I’ll forget one and be stuck haha

Well the wing and backplate are two separate pieces. Held only in place by the wingnuts from the twinset. No tools required.

How big is the bag? How many liters or cubic inches?
