I honestly wonder if there is ANY instance of the reverse, where people keep calling Mario's coins "Rings", like I'm legitimately curious. Granted that might just be my "Sonic veteran brain" categorizing Rings as such a low priority/common knowledge bit of info where I'm wanting to say "guy's, they're obviously rings, not coins." Granted I've also never really had the problem of calling an item in one game a different thing in another, at most I just go "I can't remember what they're called at the moment." Although I DO also have the aspect of having photographic memory.
