      Can you tell me more about being a generator technician

      @@Lilhunna509 I'll give you some insight. When somebody asks me that question:
      1. They lack confidence in their abilities
      2. They have not developed a work ethic they can lean on. We all run into something we don't know or takes a while to pick up. The good ones keep moving. The good ones ask quality questions that lead them where they want to go. "What can I do with this knowledge" Question like that sets the stage. You will obtain knowledge, and will be in demand because of your knowledge.
      In summary I think you can do anything, but that doesn't mean shit if you don't believe, and act on it... consistently.

      @@ShainAndrews if I want this job where do I begin and what should I study in college?

      @@davjoh1667 First you have to want this career. It is way more than a job. Its a career, a life, a mentality. It takes a get it done attitude. Frankly that is learned in the home long before any formal education... there are exceptions to that but incredibly rare. As for education college is probably not the correct tract. Trade schools and community colleges that have courses dedicated for power generation are better suited. Call around to companies that provide this service. Let them know you are interested in the industry. Ask them what they look for. If you are really serious show up to these businesses and ask questions about internships, walk throughs, anything that you can learn.

    Hey mate I’m planning to buy a generator for my new house but not sure which is the best make. I’m familiar with cat, Cummins and or Detroit engines.

      I’m a Generator tech. For a residential home generator I’d suggest a Generac then you just have pick which model works best for you and your house. 24 Kw will have you covered just remember to get that annual Service 🙌

    I have a generator that is displaying Voltage low/frequency low. I can not discern if its due to bad avr or air in the fuel lines, or dirdy diesel. Do you have any suggestion what could be the issue?

    • @ShainAndrews
      @ShainAndrews 2 года назад

      If you are staying up on PMI I would not expect a fuel system issue. So many variables to cover. First is to verify the condition exists. If you don't know how to check that safely I'm not telling you how. This is not the stuff to get advice over the internet from strangers.
