This series was a real treasure. Incredibly well made with clear passion and love for the source material. I hope Naugrim (creator of DUST) has seen this. You definitely did his work the justice it deserved, as well as Shoddycast's.
This series in general took me back to a more hopeful time in the Fallout community, and I guess RUclips in general. I wish more stuff like this was still being made on this platform instead of the usual garbage.
Thanks for all the hard work and passion you and your team put together for this project as well as your original DUST video (which is also fantastic). Whether you decide to continue this series somehow or not, I hope you know that you and your work is appreciated.

This was an amazing shot at the story surrounding Dust. So the Dust narrator is another Story Teller, like the one from Shoddy Cast all that time ago, interesting. Could it be possible for the series to continue through an edited playthrough to learn more in detail about the settlements left behind in Dust? Is this going to continue at all with another fallout mod? This was pretty damn good

    • @SpacemanScott
      @SpacemanScott  Год назад +27

I'm thrilled you liked it! Was genuinely one of the most fulfilling projects I've been able to work on. As for a continuation of the story with Dust/other mods... I don't know. A complete cop-out answer I know, but if I were to revisit the world of Dust or make a derivative series about another mod than it'd be 1: A few years down the road and 2: with a full team of people to help me put it together.
This lore series was more or less my baby, one that I wore every hat in when it came to production. Narration, script writing, script editing, sound design, filming all the machinima scenes, video editing, etc. etc. etc. You name it, I probably did it. And while I'm proud of what it became and to see how people have enjoyed all the hard work that went into creating it, I'm reticent to jump headfirst into another season or derivative work alone lmao. After all, I started work on this series back in early 2020, and it's only recently been completely finished and released.
So in short: maybe. I'm not opposed to make more of these in the future or covering things like Frost or STALKER, but I think I'm gonna focus on a few smaller projects for the channel in the meantime. And for all of those wondering about the undiscovered parts of Dust's lore, and who don't want to wait for a sequel series to this one, you too can follow The Narrators example and become your own storyteller, discovering the world of Dust for yourself. It's like the man says: "All stories deserve to be told, to be documented, and shared with others. Even yours, whatever it may be, and wherever it may go. "

The talk about the BoS taking the Big Mt. got me thinking... If the people doing F4NV ever also do the DLCs, I hope they end up adding some new content. Maybe let you tell the BoS you've secured the place and they're safe to move in, kinda like how in F4, you could tell the BoS about Far Harbor's synth holdout and raid it with them.
Having the base game content able to interact with DLC content was one of my favorite parts of F4. That, and playing after the game's 'end' to see how your choices effect the world and see the aftermath of what you've done. Hope some of that bleeds into F4NV, too. Having a post-game and witnessing the consequences of your actions is such a fun thing, and would be so much more fun in NV. I've heard of mods that allow that in the real NV, but I haven't tried them yet.

Are you making one for Fallout Frost next?

I might, I still need to get around to playing through the whole mod proper before committing to a lore series, but I'd never rule it out

Frost doesn't have a wiki that can be used to double check stuff, so it will be way harder.

Frost DOES have a Wiki. Granted, it's not as expansive as the DUST Wiki but it's getting there. Has a TvTropes page, too.

Can someone explain to me that last cutscene? I’m still new to fallout dust and this is the first(and based on other’s opinions, might be the only) dust series I’m watching so I don’t know as much as you all. But anyways I really want to give my appreciation to you Scott, for making one of the highest quality productions I’ve ever seen. No lies, it puts some productions from professionals look like child’s play. Thank you.

I had to search this up out of curiosity. That is the possible the protagonists of the mod who essentially started the journey of a new story to be told. Maybe resorting Vegas and the Mojave back to its former glory.

Where did you get that little sound at the end when you showed the story teller if you don't mind me asking? I need it as my notification sound on my phone. I know it's from RDR!

hey @Spaceman Scott, I stumbled on your dust video serious today, and I plan on watching the whole video serious thought out my weekend. However, I got to ask the question, have you messed around with the second mod for DUST for Fallout 4, FROST. if not, would you take a look and do some videos on it if you like it? until then keep up the good work

Was there ever any lore behind the scavenger cave? I remember there was a cave in the eastern part of the map near Helios that held friendly survivors you could trade with. Apparently, Chet from goodsprings is there.

I believe you're thinking of the mod "Understone" that adds a tiny settlement filled with non-hostile NPCs. Technically that mod is only pseudo canon (meaning that even the mod authors have said that you can consider it canon or not, up to you) which is why I didn't end up covering it in this series
