Ann Miler the most terrific Hollywood tap dancer of this time, beautiful, full of joy, much more attractive and entertaining than Eleonor Powell or Vera Lynn !
    Thanks for sharing this.

Ann's goofy-looking partner in uniform at the finish is Bill Shawn, whose four credits all belong to 1944. Her love interest was Jess Barker, the non-hoofing husband of Susan Hayward- which did not end well.
The movie was released before D Day or the Battle of the Bulge, so 'Victory' was jumping the gun somewhat. This was the finale and only big production number. The audience is teased by keeping the famous Miller legs clad in pants for most of it, whereas the decorously toiling chorus of Rosie the Riveters flashes the flesh.
Ann escaped from Harry Cohn soon after, having caught Louis B Mayer's eye in more ways than one, but 'Jam Session' lets her do some funny scenes as a talent contest winner from Kansas determined to break into the big time at 'Superba Pictures'- even if she has to disguise herself to infiltrate the front office. 'Jam Session' was her 22nd film and she was still only 20.

This is wonderful. Frank Loesser also wrote Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition and Bubbles in the Wine, Lawrence Welk's theme song.

There's gonna be a hallelujah day
When the boys have all come home to stay
And the million bands begin to play
We'll be dancing the victory polka
And when we've lit that torch of liberty
In each blacked-out land across the sea
When a man can proudly say I'm free
We'll be dancing the victory polka
And we'll give a mighty cheer
When the ration book is just a souvenir
And we'll heave a mighty sigh
When each girl can kiss the boy she kissed goodbye
And they'll come marching down fifth avenue
    The United Nations in review
When this lovely dream has all come true
We'll be dancing the victory polka
Dance, dance, dance the victory polka
    Join, join the merry throng
Sing, sing, sing the victory polka
Raise your voices loud and strong
It's gonna be a great hallelujah day
When the boys have all come home to stay
And a million bands begin to play
We'll be dancing the victory polka
And when we've lit that torch of liberty
In each blacked-out land across the sea
When a man can proudly say I'm free
We'll be dancing the victory polka
And we will give a mighty cheer
When the ration book is just a souvenir
And we'll heave a mighty sigh
When each girl can kiss the boy she kissed goodbye
And they'll come marching down fifth avenue
    The United Nations in review
When this lovely dream has all come true
We'll be dancing the victory polka
We'll be dancing the victory polka

I gradually realized that the dancers at the end were supposed to represent people from the various "United Nations". The women wore versions of traditional costumes and the men were in military uniforms from different countries. I have to say that I preferred the perky war munitions workers in the factory in the beginning, dressed in short shorts and high-heeled shoes as they built planes and ships.

Not what one thinks of as protective industrial apparel, but that's Hollywood.

@@suksma108 Those glamorous outfits must've been intended to keep up the morale of the female factory workers, safety or otherwise. Because what gal doesn't want to look her best as often as possible? The boys fighting overseas would certainly approve!

Lately, I have read that we should not have carried forward the happy sentiments on the US military. Reality got away from us for a while. Our new victory will be stopping.
