I grabbed this synth yesterday and barely slept! It is just beautifully juicy. Thanks for the terrific review. I did not realise the sequencer was quite so powerful and only just started messing with the layering before my brain insisted I slept.
Thanks a lot for watching! It is an amazing synth and with the sequencer on one layer and the arp on other I'm doing so many polyrythmic patches, it truly is deep! I also spent the nights playing with it .
@@AlexReidStudios thanks for that idea. I tried it last night and got sone crazy results. Not so musical results... yet. Well, maybe I can call them "experimental tracks". A lot of fun all the same. There is a lot to uncover with this synth. Far more than I expected.
It's all about workflow really. The same goes with synths that have effects. I prefer to work on one instance only, so having layers is a good thing for me.
which presets? the ones I showed? Most of the sounds on the video were made by me on the fly, I can make a preset pack and give it away for free though :)
@@thhedk I install, logged into my CA account and all the patches cane down. If you are on a Windows machine with a firewall, you *may* need to allow the CA client access through the network. Also, as SR says, reach out the the folks at CA. Their support is generally first rate.
The sound of this synth is mesmerizing, but this VST is the biggest CPU hog I have ever used....how is this possible?? I am running 3 instances of the Elka(on the lowest quality setting) and I have a quad-core processor with 16GB of RAM, PC is on high performance mode and I have my DAW buffer size set to 2048. Despite all this, my DAW is stuttering & cracking & popping like a mofo...WTF!?
sorry for the late reply, sadly I haven't had any issue with Elka, it uses really low of my cpu compared to other synths know to be heavy. Have you contacted support?
Aw man I'm getting the cringe
Great review and sounds, man. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching :)

@@joesweeney6262 that makes it even more versatile. I don't k ow if you already watched my small video on polyrythms on the Elka
Very yummy! And the synth was great too!
Haha thanks!
Just bought it, reminds me a lot of my original Jupiter 8. Love it! 😎
It really is great isn't it?
Sounds good. But to which extent are layers an advantage of a software synth? You can anyway layer multiple instances of the synth.

Are all the presets there ??

@@AlexReidStudios The Factory presets.
I bought it, and they are not there :(
@@thhedk ohh that's strange, I suggest you write directly to Cherry Audio, they have great support

@@joesweeney6262 It's not the patches, it's the Factory Presets I'd like to have.
Thank god I only collect software synths! One more for the collection!
They are great, and with the quality/price of Cherry Audio is hard not to
Ah. A fellow musical 🐇 approved!
Musical rabbits for the win! I slaute you brother!
Sounds good isn’t? I liked the galactic reverb! Lol
Me too! Is really deep
The drums: Did you need to layer multiple instances for some of those or is each drum a single instance of the synth?
Pretty great sounds either way.
Hey thanks for watching! Only the drums on the first jam are made on the synth, and yes, they are one instance each :)

Subbed b'cos Bitwig.
Is truly an amazing DAW
@@AlexReidStudios It sure is, been there since V1, had a wonder elsewhere and back after a while - it's my fave creative DAW.
@@soundfx68 mine too! And it's slowly becoming my fav mixing DAW too.
