Imagine if Sims didn't know the house layout automatically. The sim would walk into a random room and be confused on where the toilet is or where the bed is for at least a sims week. 🤔
Isn't it amazing how much was introduced to the Sims series through one little expansion? And how much new gameplay was crammed in there... Sims 4 could never :)
Personality traits DID make a difference in the Sims. If you maxed active, you would spring out of bed instantly. At the other extreme, it would take an hour to get up. They also affected what you thought was fun, and how easy it was to make friends.
This is the most iconic expansion pack ever. It set so many standards and so many things we come to just know the Sims for. The heart bed, telescopes and aliens, the weird NPC's like tragic clown, the robot servant (and lets face it, Bonehilda wouldn't exist without him either), and I played with that silly genie lamp forever I wish we could have something like that back lol That was also the best rendition of the science chemistry table ever also. Potions since then have been so boring.
I got this back in the day ! Me and my sister had to take turns on the family computer . If we ever had an argument , we would secretly delete each other’s houses and families . Brutal
Djinns (spirits from the Middle East which genies are based on) are actually very mischievous. Having the genie be unpredictable and unreliable in how it grants wishes makes perfect sense.
Omg the nostalgia 😭 I remember how FREAKING excited I was for those pack and how I thought it was so cool they added onto their game like that...little did I know what the future would hold >_
This brings back so many memories. I don't think I've ever been as excited as when I convinced my mom to buy TS1 and Livin' Large for me. A whole new world opened up. A world of animal print wallpaper 🤧
Here this wisdom from your elder simmer; I witnessed the very beginning of the Sims, I can tell you we used to fill the room with chairs, because it was cheap furniture, and then launch the rockets.
You should do a video where you get the tragic clown to show up, then have his painting set on fire. The programmers hid something funny in the game for when you do this.
I wasn’t alive for ts1 I started my obsession when ts3 came out bc it came out a year after I was born and I started playing it as soon as I was able to work a computer
I know I’m commenting on old videos, but in Sims 1 there’s a cheat to max out all needs, instead of deleting them, so you can use it on world lots too. And you can also use a cheat that “locks” their needs so they won’t go up and down, and you can manually move the needs bar up and down by clicking and dragging the bar when it’s activated. I don’t remember the cheat codes but I remember using them a lot lol
"Are you a genie? Or are you Margaret Thatcher" is one of the funniest sentences I've ever heard LMAO. So glad I found your channel, love watching your older sims plays
God, this takes me back! Especially the sky diving simulator; that was one of my favourite objects XD This game, though I was probably too young for some of the themes, kicked off my 20 years of passion for The Sims (albeit there have been disappointments with some aspects since The Sims 3). Great video!
I always heard the earlier Sims games were traumatic and watching your playthroughs of the different packs has proved that to me- (I never played the older games, however I heard stories from my older sister and my mom)
My first sims 1 was the demo which i got it from the magazine. All sims were mute, there was no genie, grim reaper, tragic clown etc. Then sims 1 deluxe edition was on the market and yeah it was a rip off livin large one.

"Why are you just giving us bills? Are you a genie or are you Margaret Thatcher?" 🤣
I'm dead 😂

You could have set the tragic clown painting on fire, and the Tragic Clown will be on fire as well! Gosh his screams will be terrifying hahah.
