    You put that really well. It does hurt to get rid of your collection, but realistically, as a collector, it's impossible to maintain a collection without running out of space eventually. It's great that you have the shop and sell to fellow collectors at a fair price. I think you do things the right way. You respect the items, other collectors and also get joy from your own collection.

      Yes every collector should prune and sculpt their collection into a much nicer better collection with time.

    Interesting point about pruning a garden of collectibles to invest in your favorite valued Comic Books. Good video, thanks.

      Definitely, it is hard to sell off shrink your collection but if you do it with the purpose of getting better items and grails for your collection it makes so much sense.

    I think tinkles with ghost in jar is the biggest rick & morty grail but I could b wrong. I'm always amazed the value on any pickle rick & flocked snowball is low. Those & tinkles r my favorite of the line.

      Its crazy there is no pops of value in the Rick and Morty line. I still love it though

    Rumor has it (Variety,etc) that they are making a new live action Gargoyles TV show on Disney+. I would keep those if I were you. You are doing a great job purging though!!

      Oh if that is the case your right probably worth holding on to them short term until the show comes out.

    Totally get your premise on purging your collection, I collect mid century modern ornaments etc, I park down my collection and sell say six items to get my ‘grail’ item every now and again. Love your content ♥️

    Insane collection as always! I was so surprised to see your FNAF and Minecraft sets. Ik FNAF is trending right now and have gone up in value. Awesome to see it altogether 🔥

    • @popfuntoplay
      @popfuntoplay  5 месяцев назад

      I think both the FNAF and MInecraft pops came out about 2016-17 so all the 8-10 year olds that loved them then are now 16-18 years old so they probably grew out of it for now, but I know in 5-7 years when they are done with school etc that nostalgia will rush back and the pops will be highly collectible. I think both sets are super cool. I am happy I was able to get them when they were cheap.

    Check the back of the Prince pop to see if Purple Rain is spelled correctly. Some of them have an error where it says “Purpe” Rain.

    • @popfuntoplay
      @popfuntoplay  5 месяцев назад

      It might be the error box, but its a very common error so the value different is small.

    I didn't realize people were even still collecting pops that much. Will they really be worth anything in 10 years

    • @popfuntoplay
      @popfuntoplay  5 месяцев назад +1

      The fact that they are one of the most successful toy lines of all time. They have been around for 14 years and still going. Very few successful toy lines have made it past 7-8 years before they had to take a break. And the first 5-10 years had very low print runs on all the figures. Leads me to believe that there will always be collectors. But the ones I think will be worth something are the ones that are contemporary to kids today. Childhood always leads to the strongest nostalgia value later on. So the Power Rangers and Dragonball Z might not gain much more value or any value in 10 years, five nights and freddys and Minecraft may have huge values etc.

    I have been having to purge my stuff, but my logic is: I'll let my big grails go only 'if' someone is willing to meet me all the way or 95-90%. Letting go of my favorites is painful, but at the end of the day if my collection helps to pay off stuff that is what I would rather do, but whatever is left I can use towards my dream 1985 Monte Carlo. Plus like you I have my grail comics. Personally I'm more happy with slabbed books lately over the Funkos and it's less space taking up room in my house. I just need my husband to make a nice display for them on the wall in my game room where the sun never hits.

    • @popfuntoplay
      @popfuntoplay  5 месяцев назад

      Oh definitely, no reason to sell the Grails for cheap. A lot of people sell off the expensive easy to sell items first, and I always say save those for last they are the easiest to sell so put in the work on the hard to sell stuff then when your exhausted and cant go no more you can sell the expensive stuff. And yeah a few choice graded key comics bring me more joy then a pile of pops.

    • @popfuntoplay
      @popfuntoplay  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes on both counts. I don't go too crazy because I find most are common enough that the values don't rise too dramatically with time so I just grab absolute favorites.
