The amount of work she puts in makes my head hurt, literally. I used to spend a lot of time in the studio. So much I got migraines. This is physically bringing back the memories. I used to be obsessed with getting the perfect sound. I didn't have her level of talent and discipline, however. My career never took off. I watch this and realize exactly why my career never took off. Perhaps I should have just grit my teeth through the migraines.
She has one of the most unique and distinct voices in the industry, I think its a bit sad she didnt really had a breakthrough album more widely known, but I also like the fact she is one of the hidden gems out there, like the one a lot of people knows without really knowing.
Glad I’m not the only one who goes in and does all the S and T sounds manually. Shit sometimes I even do fix up some of the plosives if they’re too crazy 😂
As I listen to her explain the recording/editing process, her own words, "whaaaaaaaat the hell... is gooooooooing on" play back in my mind lmao. Learning any bit of this process on your own as I once tried to, without the aid of RUclips or anyone with expertise in my immediate social circle by my side, as a kid, was discouraging. That's why I never followed through with it.
Happy Wednesday to you Imogen, thank you this helped a lot, though I dream of a similar set-up. But its the passion that's important right! Keep up the great work and I hope you and Dan Black collaborate again. Word of the day: Sibilance... and yours is Super.
Love this very beautiful and I just love seeing females actually getting their hands dirty on the mixing desk and showing that are better than the men.
I like seeing females get into it as well, though I'm not sure what you mean "showing that are better than the men."That part kinda contradicts the sentiment lmao
I love that she produces and engineers her own music! This is incredible!
her voice is like an ASMR artist. I just meltdown on my chair.
Oguzhan Ozturk You're not the only one! I felt EXACTLY THE SAMEEEE
+Oguzhan Ozturk You should listen to her track commentaries on Spotify or her Video Blogs then :P
Oguzhan Ozturk
Her music is amazing, trust me. Listen to The Listening Chair for a good ASMRish song, or Bad Body Double.
+Jesse Colton I think Half Life is the best for ASMR :D
Oguzhan Ozturk That was before Neglected Space :D

my favorite artist of all time.
amazing! heres me doing it in one take, take it or leave it, while shes being perfect , going in to great details, she works hard! love that
No idea what she's talking about but very soothing sweet voice and beautiful

In light of today's tech, there was a HEROIC amount of tedious edits that went into this. Wow
That desk though..... =]
I had no idea you were this deep. I love your music so much more now.
This is great! Thank you!
Imogen is an incredible songwriter/producer; cool to see a part of the process.
6:03 this is so wise and i never thought about those details. how you can comunicante with such simple but human things
I just saw and heard this most amazing, incredible vocalist on PBS "Soundbreaking" early this morning. I'm absolutely blown away by her talent.

This is rocket science to me :O
This video just cuts out at the end while she's halfway through a sentence!
I cannot grasp the true form of her hair!
She is so sweet 😢
thank you, imogen!

Immi is no joke. ❤️
Awesome, learnt so much here...
I have Aspergers and I would just love to pick Imogen's brain, it would be so awesome!

Her reverb sounds pitched around 6:3, is that possible?
