A little late to the party here, but really hope you don't give up on malazan just yet. Deadhouse Gates was a SLOG for me too, but I absolutely adored the next book, memories of ice
Going for the MBR! Great plan Dan. I almost DNFd Deadhouse Gates, and after I finally finished it and started Memories of Ice, I was so burned out I couldn’t enjoy it. So, I temporarily shelved Memories of Ice lol.
Sucks that Deadhouse Gates isn’t clicking for you. I would say it’s more indicative of the rest of the series writing style so if you can’t stand that book by the end id say Malazan isn’t for you. Dead Beat is perhaps the most fun concept of all of the Dresden Files I’m sure you’ll have a blast.
March TBR so far: Lonesome Crown, Morning Star, & Gardens of the Moon (GotM is a reread) are set. The rest of my book slots are going to Self-Published/Indie authors, Philip Chase's, The Way of Edan, will probably be one, the rest have not been determined....and yes Hogwarts Legacy is a blast. #HouseRavenclaw
Hey Christopher, looks like a great TBR. Im digging Lonesome Crown already. Durfee is great with the big reveals in each book. Oh yes, I need to reach out to Phillip to get my hands on the Way of Edan. I don't think I mentioned it in the video but #HouseSlytherin!
Sucks to hear about Deadhouse Gates, I'm planning on starting it in March while bracing for the switch-up. I'm having an almost opposite experience to you, where Eye of the World kind of burned me out in January and I had to take a break from the epic side of things this month. I'll get to The Great Hunt eventually, I just don't think I can handle one WoT book every month. So with my 2023 TBR basically in shambles, I'm thinking MBR is way more realistic, and I think I'll be reshuffling that as I go.
Feel free to hit me up on the discord, I have a 5 warrior angels channel and we can discuss the last book. Men at Arms is one of the best Discworld books I've ever read. I hope you enjoy it!
I don’t have a ps5 nor PC so I can’t play Hogwarts Legacy but you best believe ima get it in April when it comes out for the ps4. What do you give it out of 10 points? A ?/10?
I’d say a solid 9/10. Story great, the world and exploring hogwarts was so much fun. Some of the combat and switching targets could be smoother. But I really enjoyed my time with it.
Damn Treebeard I’m so hype for the game you have no idea. I want to ride the broomstick and play Quidditch. People are speculating that Quidditch is going to be a DLC. Harry Potter is my favorite book series of all time. I’m going to play it on the PS4.
Could be a stylistic. Ive found when Malazan is good its really good. When its not gripping me Im not interested in reading. I think the shift in characters to book 2 threw me off.
Please let me know what you are reading in March!
Lmao he throws the book on the ground! 😂

Reading some gritty historical fiction. Angus Watson Age of Iron Series.. It is so good.

I also started WOT this year. Will be reading The Dragon Reborn in March. Will try to join your discord chat.
Awesome! So glad if you can join us Anitha!
I think an MBR is much more realistic than a TBR 🙂
I think so too! I usually have a busy schedule outside of booktube so I may do this going forward.
Great video as always! What a friggin' brick DHG is 😂
Right?! I could strap a note to it and throw it through a window

I’ll be starting Discworld in March, can’t wait!
Thats awesome! Which book are you starting with?
@@TreeBeardBookReviews I read Mort a while back and will now go from start to end, so The Colour of Magic

Murder in the mews by Agatha Christie
Read between the lines by Rachel Lacey

Im right with ya Groofay. Those big books can be a committment. Some click and some don't.
I'm going to be starting Lonesome Crown also this month!! I may even read Men at Arms, cause I have been reading a lot of Dark stuff lately. lol.

I understand certain books don't mesh with everyone, but the fact you can get through the slog of WOT and can't stand Malazan is blowing my mind.
