There are some great points that show the difference regarding history, rumour and facts. It shows where fans stories are fan rumour and hearsay and the press, compared to historical research. It is refreshing that Gav is critical and realistic about the club also, does not just look through blue tinted specs.
Great stuff. Not sure about the 30 quid price though. 20 would be better or he could re-package them as a trilogy and sell it as a set for 44.99. Perfect Christmas Present. Bit of a lack of marketing brains there.
@@williamwallace7651- we are all entitled to our opinion. I saw Mountfield against City (away) we won 3-1, he was brilliant that day but Kendall couldn’t keep him in the team because he’d paid 900k for donkey Watson. The defense (in my opinion) was never the same. Rats and Degzy just understood each other. For me, it’s was a big mistake & waste of money. Apparently DM had epilepsy and that’s what worried Kendal into buying Watson.
heysel... was simply a tragedy, as a know and heard back then 85 it's been caused by Italian fans and pool fans were angry cause there is even a boy victim been, we know everything took a turnaround but... let's not blame pool fans for that tragedy, besides why were only english teams banned for 5 years? and not Italians teams?
How desperate is Baz trying to push the Hysel narrative but Gavin is having none of it. Very refreshing. Truth is Everton just bought poor players just like Liverpool did in the 90s
Baz doesn’t need to be desperate about heysel, it happened and liverpool and juventus were responsible, despite liverpool trying to blame everyone else at the time, like the national front which is what they did, know your history as the song says.
@@markconnolly6288all the English teams were banned from Europe. It didn’t lead to Arsenal and Liverpools downfalls. Why couldn’t Everton have continued being successful domestically?
Mate, I'm not pushing anything. It was a fact and players left because of it, I know this because I've interviewed them all. Weird comment tbh. Everton's decisions alongside this were terrible and probably as equal but the reality is a European ban did stop EFC growth. No reason to try and turn this into Everton / Liverpool thing, it's just reality. If LFC were banned now for 5 years your side would break up and the growth would stop they're just the simple facts.
@@Ldoggmillionaire That's a Good point. I was just talking about EFC breaking up. That's correct, though. LFC / Arsenal bought better players and made better decisions than Everton. Also, in all fairness, Arsenal weren't up there anyway until 1989!

Whilst Liverpool were signing Beardsley and Barnes, we were signing Ian Wilson.

Gavin is a fantastic guest & story teller
This might be painful 🍵 needed
Is started with selling Andy Gray and replacing Mountfield with Watson. We were just never the same after that.
And not replacing Peter Reid. Kendall should’ve gone back for McMahon, letting him go across the park cost us the double!
Watson was one of the few great signings we made from 1986. waggy wasn't injury prone as dereck and we got 15 years of great service from him
