He also got a super early version that had no fan curves installed yet, but yes, the entire concept of the machine is flawed. You can't adequately cool an Intel i9 with a 120 mm AIO if you're actually stressing it out and not just doing some heavily GPU-bound gaming like F1 in 4K. The GPU VRMs are without any active cooling as well, just passively cooled by what is effectively a case fan. Not good at all.

    •  27 дней назад +7

@@tim3172 Based on the teardown in Debauer's video, the graphics card does not have any heatsink or heatspreaders on the VRMs. Just bare mosfets. The case fan is mounted on the lower right side of the side panel, blow air into the lower cavity of the case. It's not especially targeted or pointed towards the mosfets, just doing the equivalent job of front panel fans on a conventional tower.
In this case, I would think describing the GPU VRMs as 'being passively cooled' is an appropriate desctiption, since the entire left hand side bank of VRM is quite far away from the fan, and is effectively just cooled by whatever overall ventilation in the lower chamber that the side panel fan could provide. You can see the rather bare looking PCB in this video at about 5:06 minute in

They run too hot, they use too much power, they now have degradation and stability concerns (so, did you check the bios?)...hell, honestly, unless the productivity aspects are your bread and butter, I'd just prefer to have a 7800x3d. Don't worry about CPU degradation and instability with this system - Corsair limits the CPU to 240W PL2. They already can't cool it at that wattage with a flimsy 120mm rad and low profile fans, anyway. They just don't tell you, because "optimized performance" (just downward) and "sophisticated cooling" (true, just still woefully inadequate) sounds so much better.

I recomend people to watch Der8auer's video. This SUPER OVERPRICED bad designed pc is not worth $5000

For its size, Corsair could've fit most of its standard watercooling lineup in there. Would've saved space to only have one pump, standardized parts would've been cheaper. Slap an XR5 240 rad on that hinged door, good to go. Hell, at this price, they should've used their Link fans, if only to cut out most of the cabling in their already cramped case.

Der8auer recommended changing fans to 25mm fans

Or shoving 120mm spacers under fans so the center motor part isn't blocking 1/5th of the entire radiator🤣

They had a second fan next on the aio why not have a 240 rad there

  • @drahkas8526

It's insane that they used a 120 instead of a 240 for the 14900k. The space is there, the extra fan is there... Wat?

Too expensive to pay for a thermally throttling i9. Cmon Corsair it HAS the space so just bump it up to a 240 at least.

The Fractal case with wood looks good, this does remind me of 1970s hi-fi and CRT TVs and stuff. Wait, how is that gigantic cover that looks exactly like a heatsink, not just a heatsink? What a waste of material.

By using TORX manufacturer usually indicates that this is probably not what you are need to do. For example at my AIO pump they use them to seal liquid inside it. I don't see any problem because TORX usually even better than Philips.

It is up to a preference? That is a spineless way to say practically nothing at the end. If your preference is to have an expensive PC that is cooking itself to death even without dust in it...yeah, this is certainly a great option.
    Yuck...

  • @otacon5648

Gee, it really does look like they had room to put a 240mm rad where that 120mm is on the side. For what this costs and what it’s trying to cool, it should have been a 240mm.

Don't get me wrong here but I have doubts about the labs data. Der8auer pointed out so many flawed things. How can a single person be more accurate than a whole team and how the hell did this made it through the ECC Squad
