@@PBPlumber You ever thought of making a similar course to the heat geek ones for understanding/ diagnosing boilers? I’d pay for that, so would many others. 👍
@@PBPlumber Hello, I hope you are well, I am a plumber from Algeria, I have ten years of experience, but when I saw your work, I came to see my work as unprofessional and not worthy of plumbing, is it possible for me to train with you for a few days? I hope for a response from you. All the best
Love the diagrams , as an apprentice this is really helpful to understand fault finding and break down a system into a more understandable format , keep up with the great videos
Great video about fault finding, I hope you would do a another one please. your explanations are very simple, very easy to understand. I'm very grateful to you.
I like the way you showed us about the basic sequence of the boiler on the diagram you drawed out. Yes that would be great if you could show us in more detail the sequencer of the boiler with the sensors and ntcs. Your teaching skills are really good. I am definitely learning. Thanks PB.
Really appreciate the sequence of operation for the boiler. This is the clearest description I’ve seen online and it’s greatly appreciated, thanks PB ❤️ 🔧 🔥
Another great video PB your passion and enthusiasm for your trade is absolutely top notch, as a spark I'm learning from you to be more enthusiastic and push myself to be better at my job, thanks very much for providing great content for us all. Happy Easter mate 👍
I work as a plumber in hungary, i love how the brands are different but it all works the same. I wish there were channels like this when i learned it 😀
But here the the ignition comes before the gas valve opening and stops the ignition after it detects flame. Im kinda baffled that its the reverse there.
Rule number one turn everything off before you cut floor boards. I once lifted some floor boards in a pub and disturbed a 22mm gas pipe that had never been soldered. Huge lesson.
Just finished the heat geek course and can strongly recommend it. Difficult but well worth while. And a bonus I can say I featured in one of your videos as that was my name in the additional info section of module 1 😂
the sequence flow diagram is excellent any more in depth videos would be great for people trying to learn more about fixing boilers like myself thanks for making great videos
I remember cutting into live socket cabling taking some floorboards up. Since then I always set the depth of the saw no greater than the boards I'm cutting.
I’ll start my training in may but I’m watching your videos and really like them. The scheme you did now was awesome for me and would like to see more of that. Cheers
Happy Easter mate. Don't worry about jealous and disgrace people, doesn't matter what you do there will be some haters. For the first time didn't manage to watched it yesterday 🤦♂️.
Great video esp the diagram for fault finding. Would be really nice for a more detailed parts as you said . For the training, believe it or not yesterday i was watching ur pipe bending video as i said wt if you, heatGeek, andrew milward, heatinggeeks, and dr pipe all open a training centre. I strongly believe that it would take the gas engineers and the industry to a whole new better level. If that happen i will be first one in even if that meant travelling 200 miles . Thanks again for sharing with us
Hej PB, great video. Regarding the fault finding graph, it should be ignition first and gas valve afterwards. Due to safety reasons. Keep it up! Greetz from Belgium
Great way to learn especially as i am an a apprentice👍. Thank you and can’t wait for the next video. I would like to see how you get your soldering so perfect hopefully one day you will show it on one of your videos soon.🤞
Great videos again my only comment would be your title. You are a trained Gas Safe registered engineer. The term Plumber unfortunately can be used by anyone as is obvious by some of the disasters we see and have to deal with . I personally flinch when people say the Plumber is here to fix the boiler. I am a plumber yes but more than that we are highly skilled technicians with the ability to diagnose problems that may be water, gas or electrically related. We deserve more credit and to just label us as plumbers is a little downgrading due to the numerous rough cowboy plumbers there are out there. You are a top engineer and don't forget it
Great video. Its fast becoming my Sunday ritual. Going to check out Heat Geek, I registered a couple of weeks ago but not took it any further. If your not earning your learning 👍
Top class content as usual pb, been in the game almost 30 years over in Ireland but have just got gas registered and find the fault finding bits top notch
In my experience far too many “engineers” will rush in and change the PCB whatever the fault is. I attended a call out while working as an engineer for a boiler manufacturer, the customers own self employed plumber was on site as he wanted to meet me at the job. Straight away he says “it’s the PCB mate have you got one on the van?” After spending 10mins checking the boiler I changed the DHW heat exchanger and the boiler was up and running.
Thanks for the video mate it’s really handy having this sort of content I’d like to see more of a detailed one also if possible thank you keep up the good work 👍
Would people recommend using the foam stripping instead of supplied “play doh”when installing gas hob? Any help appreciated. Great YT video as always 👍🏽
You’re a Very good engineer and I enjoy your videos greatly, just one question I have, do you not worry that handymen, DIYers and other non gsr people may use the information from your videos to carry out diagnosis or repairs themselves ? Keep up the good work. Sam
The amount of customers I’ve had say to me yea you can find anything on RUclips I’ll be able to fit a filter on myself after telling them all about it and working out faults. I feel like this information and experience has a value which I’ve worked for and a lot of it is now readily available to the public and they feel that there is no value to it as all they’ve had to do is watch a video ? I just want to know what your thoughts are on it and maybe for me to take a different outlook on it ?
I once went to a call out the guy flooded his boiler because he saw a pipe on his balcony over a drain dripping (condense) and so he capped it. I took the makeshift cap off the pipe did my 29.1 checks and said that was the problem. He was adamant that I was wrong so I charged him £200 purely because 1 teach him not to fuck with things he doesn’t know about and 2 don’t call me out and then question me lol especially when you now have heating and hot water
Please please please go 8n to more detail with fault finding on boilers been doing gas 10 years and it's my weakest area as iv been on new install and new builds all my working life
Fastest downvote to date, you must have me on notifications, I like that 🥰
Lmao but it means they watched it hahaha
Probably PlumberParts 😂
It's that customer who's boiler you flooded lol
They all count on your stats 👎🏻👍🏻👊🏻
As a newly qualified gas engineer I really like the fault diagnosing procedure video. Anymore would be great 👍
I’m gonna get set up in front of a boiler and do the sequence of operation and show how to diagnose the fault on each part

I’m just looking for a job where I have a decent boiler to show the process on and nobody is home so I can film it
The diagrams are a massive help, this one and the flow rate one a few weeks ago have helped me day to day 👍👍👍

Yet another useful bit of knowledge. Keep them coming thank you.
Love your channel, especially the pipe bending tutorials. 👍
Nice video PB. When bending electrodes try and do them while cherry red as bend really easy. 👍🏻👍🏻
yeah I had to do it with one hand so by the time I put my torch down and picked up the grips it had lost the lovely red glow

Great fault finding tutorial Pete. Cheers 👍
Great video! The amount of times I’ve had to bend spark electrodes back into shape..blow torch is a must as bending them cold is a disaster for sure!!
Another quality & informative video from a talented guy.

I thought the flame rectification happens before gas valve opens to avoid building up of gas in the combustion chamber.
The three on the bottom, gas valve and ignition happen at pretty much the same time, rectification happens when the flame sensor detects a flame
Sequence of operations video would be great mate! 👍🏼👍🏼
Great vid, keep those jobs coming. 👍

That ‘play doh’ is a heat resistant compound that used to be used in MICC (pyro) glands.

Hi Pete, quick one.... there’s a demand, pcb sends 240 to pump. Pump spins but no voltage at fan. Pcb fault or flow sensor fault? 🤨
