To people complaining about this being segregation. It's not. This is representation, and it's extremely important.

Well done to the founder Tasha of this fantastic running group! With increasing health disparities, black communities must continue to focus on improving their health and wellbeing with interventions that successfully engage underrepresented members of the community. Brilliant feature. Keep rising👌🏾👍🏾👏🏾

It's a well presented video, but as lots of the other comments state its just reinforcing segregation. Also, not even sure that "black women" aren't a large face in British running. I seem to remember that almost the entire GB 2016 Olympics team was "black".

If black women compared themselves to those in British running that would justify why most don't/wouldn't run, so the example of the black women or people running in the Olympics is an incorrect comparison. You would then be expected to be a particular build, or speed which puts off most people who could benefit from running.
If you look at the average group of runners, even at some running events, you aren't necessarily going to see many people of colour; I say this as someone who's done parkruns in a city in areas with high BAME populations but the parkrun population doesn't reflect that demographic. Groups like this don't encourage segregation; Tasha actually said it helps people to have a group in which they feel comfortable. If anything, it's about encouraging a particular demographic to do something they wouldn't do in any other context. This is just one of many options out there to potential runners.

No they are not. The women felt excluded from other groups, so they formed one where they feel welcome.

All you with your negative mind and comments. Why can't you see the best in the video? Your negative thoughts were, and is not apart the Ladies intentions. Y can't they encourage and support each others? In fact BME is a reality whether qualitative or quantitative investigation. Academics material surprises me on the reality of BME...........In society. There is no were in the video that stated they would reject other from joining.

    • @zackadesina

That's the point of this video! Previously, the woman'd running groups did not include women of colour, so these women formed one for black women. It's all explained in the video you watched!
