I love that your eldest isn't lumped into helping you with everything! That tends to happen with big families. You can tell she has a real childhood not as a second mum.
you shared such a beautiful perspective on how caring for your home is connected to the people you love
You've been posting a lot lately! I am very thankful, but I don't want to lose you again. Please remember to pace yourself and take days off with your family.
-young momma of 2 at 24, your videos help me slow down and provide companionship when I'm cleaning home alone, thank you 🙏
Would love to see a video with what your hubs does during the day.
I always look forward to your videos! Thank you. Lovely as always! I know you mostly do kitchen videos now but I'd love if you had a video about any Christmas/New Year traditions you and your family have.
I loved seeing your dishwasher routine. I do the same. Always completely rinsing ! Family and friends don't quite understand however they come out so sparkly and clean after they run thru the machine! So glad we are on the same page. I love your videos. Such a good mama at such a young age, and yes 28 with 5 children under tow is young!!😍😘
From a busy mum in Aus I rinse my dishes always before going in the dishwasher because it helps keep the dishwasher non smelly and easier to clean the filter and dishwasher in full. 😊
Love your videos… it’s my downtime videos to watch when everything is done and before I sleep to help reflect and find inspiration so thank you 🙏🏼
So relatable, Sarah. It blessed my day. Thank you for sharing ❤
Sarah I'm so curious: do you make a list the day before? Do you have any sort of personal organisation method in place? Or do you just work out of what comes to your mind? You get so much done so I need to try whatever your system is!
I love you and I love your content…Thank you for sharing and encouraging and thank you for being you! ❤️❤️
Really depends for me on the dishwasher. Depends on the day, how much time I have, what food is on the dish, etc. Typically though I rinse my dishes well before running a cycle because without doing so, it can cause my washer to clog with food particles and then it doesn’t clean as well.
Thanks for sharing, Sarah! May God continue to bless you and your family. ✨
Best years of my life! You are so blessed to know you are blessed!
Sarah, you are amazing. I am 61 and was talking to a group of women around the same age about how much we miss when our kids were small. Such a blessing.
Sarah your content gives me so much motivation to keep home cooking and having a clean tidy home for my family. Thank you too you and Keiran for good Video's 👍 🙏💜🇮🇪
For the dishwasher, they rely on crumbs and stuff to run the correct cycles so rinsing actually shortens the wash and makes it less effective. Also as long as you are cleaning the filter for the grinder often there shouldn’t be too bad of a smell. We run it with a dishwasher cleaner cycle every now and then too.
I love that you play games with your kiddos. We did as well, and the blessing continues-my adult children love to come over for game night 👍🏻
I always rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher too! I find that everything gets cleaner that way and limits rewashing. Another commenter asked about your "to-do list" and I'm curious too, how do you decide what meals to make, your cleaning routine, your website/recipe/photo-shooting routine. Thank you!!
I’m a lazy dishwasher and rinse as little as possible. My husband LOVES to clean the dishwasher itself so we’re kinda a match made in heaven.
Sarah! I just wanted to share that you helped plant seeds to bring me to Christ and change my life so I could start a family when I was watching your content back in 2020. You are such a great inspiration to me! I would love to see more content about how you manage church with 5 kids and how you find time to read your bible with everything you have on your plate. Thank you again for being you and sharing yourself with us.
Allah is The One True God. Jesus may peace be upon him called people to worship Allah.
Jesus Christ is the one true God. He said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.“
John 14:6 KJV
I hope you find Him, sincerely.
@@jennifert5120Amen sister ❤️
There's a little filter at the bottom of the dishwasher that catches little pieces of food and that may be where the stink is if everything inst rinsed. It also can make it seem like the dishwasher isn't working right wif it's all gunked up.
Girl you look so good in that pink! And as I’m pregnant with #5, homeschooling, and living on a farm, I had your exact thoughts yesterday. I try to get so much extra done in a day and still always feel behind. Glad I’m not alone. Although I do love this season with littles 🥹
I’m in the Sarah group! I MUST rinse and scrub my dishes for the same reason and I loooooveeee putting them away and they are squeaky clean and warm 🤣 🥹👏🏼 ✨
I've been praying for your wrists, sweet Sarah! 🤗🙏🏽 Thank you for being such an inspiration! PSALM 145 💖📖💖
I’m still out of breath from watching!
I was going to say there’s no need to rush like this…. But this is probably exactly what I look like throughout the day. It is probably why I gravitate to slow living content. I need that energy in my life, or lack of it.
That tea must have felt divine. Thanks for another video!
Amen, loved the part about remembering to show gratitude that we get to do the work we do and who we do it for ❤ and it is a lot of work😂
I would LOVE a video with your favorite board games and puzzles. We also love game night in my family :) 💛💛
We had a dishwasher as a child and always had to rinse our dishes well before putting them in!
I will always scrape off or quickly rinse dishes before placing them into the dishwasher and I’ve never had an issue with smell.
I dont heavily clean but i try to clean with as little water as i can. Like i set the dishes goes to washer in the sink and start to wash things that i hand wash so they get cleaned a little.
Beautiful peaceful lovely video!
Upper Room's worship is also amazing. I always have it on while cooking!
I rinse all of my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Love all of your videos.
I have a dishwasher rarely use it, I never had one growing up so washing dishes is just easy to me
We rinse off our dishes (before the food gets completely stuck) just with the tap water and then put the dishes straight into the dishwasher (nothing is ever left in/on the sink) and turn it on when it's full... The filter and rubber seals get cleaned every fortnight and we use a dishwasher cleaner every season. Anything to do with the dishwasher has been 'my chore' since i was 9.👌
When I was rushing or going through a rut where I didn’t have motivation to rinse everything I’d send my dishes through the dishwasher a couple (even three times). It washed them just as well, and once a week I’d sanitize the dishwasher with an empty cycle and baking soda. I no longer have my dishwasher and miss it dearly 😅
Im in group 3 for washing dishes, because I do it by hands :D
To all the OLD mamas you are wonderfulllllllllllll
Hahaha! 😉 nice one
That’s me
Lol I feel like you have that graceful glide in the kitchen like a Disney princess film lol 😂
For the dishes I just quickly rinse off any chunks or big blobs of sauce or something like that. Every so often I'll run a quick load with just a cup with vinegar in it and nothing else. That and regularly cleaning the filter keeps the dishwasher from starting to smell as quickly. It sometimes will start to smell but that's usually because the filter is full of gunk again.😅
I only scrape my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. It's actually more beneficial for the efficiency of newer dishwashers for the dishes to be dirtier. And my dishwasher never smells.
My dishwasher never stinks but we do 2-3 loads a day so it might be that. I don't rinse but my husband does so it depends on who has the time to put the dishes in :D
Always hand wash. Feels therapeutic 😊 I had a dishwasher yet it seemed like more work to me.
As a family that uses a rainwater tank for our household water supply we try and save as much water as possible and don’t rinse dishes before they go in the dishwasher 😊 but I totally understand the dishwasher stinking though
My dishwasher will cook food onto our dishes, so definitely a part of your group haha. On that note, I never see moms running around the house in a rush and I do always wonder... am I the only one in fight or flight (maybe an over dramatization, maybe not)? Thank you for sharing! xo
Same here with the dishwasher! We currently live with my grandfather in his house to take care of him and let's just say his dishwasher is not the one I would have picked out... it's definitely cooked food onto the dishes before or left things with a layer of grease so I heavily soap and scrub everything before loading it! I honestly don't mind though, I'd still rather do it this way than wash everything completely by hand. Trying to be grateful for what we have even when it's not 100% ideal!
Love this! Go *young* mama go!
How often do you go to the park and library?
I have never used a dishwasher ever...I don't think I ever will either. My mom even finally got a dishwasher a few years ago and still doesn't use it. Washing dishes is calming. I am so glad it is so neat underneath your sink. Cute way of getting down from the counter. My husband can't lift me because I am taller than him by a few inches. Haha.
Your sauce does look so good.
My dads a plumber so I’m in the boat with you, team double wash for life 😂
I almost never rinse before. But I have to clean my dishwasher often
I rinse my dishes before too - but not thoroughly, and the dishwasher never stinks! I was about to purchase the Hiya vitamins (as i've been looking for some healthier ones)- but shipping to Canada costs $15! Just can't do it 😟
Could you do a video about organizing kids toys? I’m struggling so bad with learning how to adapt my home organization to ever changing kids toys!
Loopkeys life (Delilah) just did a declutter video, she has 4 kids. I really enjoy her videos too. Along with farmhouse on boone
How do you find time to spend with each child? I’m a Mom of three and struggle with that.
Do you still recommend your juicer?
I’m a heavy rinser when it comes to my dishes 🙋🏼♀️😮💨 my husband and I live in an apartment and the appliances we have are nottttt great. One day I’ll get a dishwasher I can fully trust to wash my dishes properly 🤣
I never pre rinse dishes. My friend actually works at an appliance repair company and they said that dishes are NOT meant to be rinsed beforehand. What happens is the chemicals in the dishwashing detergent don’t have food reminants to attack and so they ruin the plastic in the dishwasher instead. Doesn’t look very pretty after a few years…
Sarah -- I too wish you'd make a video telling us more about your faith, I would love to hear your testimony and what you read in the Bible every day -- also what church do you go to? I really believe that being a devout Christian is why you are so competent with your home and family life!
I think you just need to clean the dishwasher filter more often if you have more food on the dishes to avoid any smells.
Can you talk more about your compost bucket under the sink? I don’t really understand everything about the concept, ex: what you put in it, how often do you empty it, what do you do with the compost?
in many places in Canada, the compost is picked up at the curb, and taken to a commercial composter
@@AK-ci5egAha, thank you! That’s very interesting, we don’t have a service like that in the US.
Team Rinse! 😄👏🏼
Cascading ❤
I've loved these last few videos Sarah (always love your stuff, but the last few have particulary spoken to me)! Thank you for not only being vilnerable enough with us to share the rough days/busy days/emotional days, but also for reminding us not to let that overwhelm us but to refocus on Jesus as our strength and on our work as mums as being a way to glorify Him and love our families! ❤️
Where do you get an energy from? You are doing great work.
P.S. I don’t understand people who rinse/wash dishes before putting into the dishwasher. Just throw away the left over food whatever is left on the plates into the garbage and put it into the dishwasher.
I am on well water and our water is hard. I need to rinse my dishes, then load the dishwasher. And no one is allowed to clean my kitchen.... no one! Haha
I wash my dishes first before putting them in the dishwasher! :)
I pre rinse my dishes before putting them in dishwasher
My dishwasher doesn't get my dishes clean unless I rinse them really well, so I'm 100% in the Sarah group. lol
I have a love hate relationship with dishwashers. I feel like with rinsing everything first I might as well have hand washed it all. But if you don't rinse the dishes everything that doesn't come clean bakes on and you still have to hand wash it anyway...
Dishwasher: I wash my dishes totally before putting them in, don't trust how efficient the washer is and use it mainly to sterilize everything with that hot hot water.
I scrape all the food scraps into the trash (and do a quick rinse if it seems necessary) before putting the dishes into the dishwasher. My husband is a plumber, and I would be deader than dead if he saw me putting super dirty dishes into our dishwasher 😆
Team no rinse 😂 I mean, I rinse them slightly but I don’t actually wash anything unless it’s super dirty. But honestly I’ll just spray soap on it and throw it in and it works for me 😂
Your aprons, can you post a link please? Thanks!
I enjoyed this video. Judy Roth
Yes, 5 kids at 28 is young!!!!I have 3 at 31, and wish I started earlier honestly! I’m getting tired. 😂
Group never had a dish washer before 🙋🏻♀️😆
I wash my dishes before my dishwasher washes them. My dishes come out sparkling clean, but I don’t know who gets the credit, the dishwasher or me? Lol
I rinse all the food off before putting them in the dishwasher.😊
Well she has five kids so yes. She is a young mama for 5 kids!
I scrape my dishes, not wash them bedore dishwashing. The dishwasher is supposed to save water and if you rinse everything heavily you are using a lot of water. I prefer to wash the dishwasher once a month. Plus, if you scrape the food and use the dishwasher everyday, there is no stink.
I want to start introducing all of my videos as being a young mom just to drive everyone crazy. It should be the least controversial thing ever and it’s all anyone can talk about apparently. 😂
I am 31 with 3 kids, and I’m still not an old mom. People need to chill.
Proud no-rinser here!
I miss Hola muchachos though😂
But you’re great, Sarah. Thanks for sharing your life
I don’t trust my dishwasher, I’m a super rinse and sometimes leave soap on the dish before putting it in the washer, type of homemaker 😂
You just said you don’t have picky eaters then said you do in your ad 😅
What does your husband do if you do everything inside the house? and he stays home….? 😵💫
Nothing 😂
Wooooow…! You’re in an amazing place for being 28. I’m jealous! I wasted my 20’s lost to Leftism & the feminist idea of “kids are the worst”.
It’s taken me into my 30’s to even START getting my act together. Good for you!
That’s awesome. Better late than never 😆
@MySkipping Then you are fully steeped in 3rd and 4th wave feminism so far that you cant even see it. It’s ok, I used to be there too.
Then I started a family. Every woman should. Otherwise end up alone and angry. Aka: a good feminist.
✋ An Asian mom who hasn't seen a dishwasher in her life and hand washes every single kitchen utensils. 😅😅
With just one little one, I find that I can never spend this much time in the kitchen (I want to!) :) - I am working my way up to being able to cook more, but he is often asking for undivided attention and cooking some days is just exhausting because of this. Typically my day is just full of spending time with him rather than house work, because it's otherwise impossible, or at least that's how it feels. My guess is that having siblings helps them occupy themselves, and that possibly it took time for you to achieve this rhythm. But I'm just wondering how long or what did it take you to be able to spend this much time doing housework, when littles require so much attention just playing with them or being present? I feel so guilty when I have my back to mine as he asks for attention in the kitchen, even when I do a 5 minute dish clean, etc.
Would appreciate any advise or perspective :)
her husband is at home, so im assuming the kids get attention that way
Have a husband who stays home with you to help entertain them?
My dishwasher doesn't clean well, so i call it my sanitizer 😅
❤
I'm in between...I learned that the dishwasher needs dirty dishes in order to wash them properly. I used to wash before and wondered why I would get caked on white spots. So now, I scrape off, quick rinse then load. My dishes are MUCH cleaner this way.
Also you're not wasting water doing a prerinse. Dishwashers are meant to clean the dishes no matter how dirty. I use a cleaning cycle every few weeks and it never smells bad.
As a mother of one, I don’t see how there could be that much more different betweeen one or more. Your other children can help and even play with each other. After only having one child, you become their everything. You are their sole playmate, story reader, meal prepped, dinner mate, etc, etc. I think it would become overwhelming due to filming videos, youtube , editing, and constantly being aware of a camera in your face. Let’s face it you’re a working mom and the number of children is irrelevant on how much you can get done. If you didn’t film and have to compromise your time with creating content, the number of children wouldn’t be important. It would all seem much easier one, two, three or five kids.
My husband literally doesn’t understand why he can basically eat off of the plate before I put it in the dishwasher. 😂
The dishes
I wash all my dishes because I don't have a dishwasher. Hopefully some day I'll get one.
🤣 rinse and then place dishes in there lol
I rinse and my husband gets mad about it😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am the 1. group 😅😊❤
Thank you for allowing us to have a peak into the window of your life, Sarah.
Thank you Lord for the encouragement I have received through this video. 🤍
The intro made me laugh!
Me too! But it definitely opened another debate in the comments 😂
Seriously girl we are the same age and we are too close to 30 to be using the phrase "young mom". People used to have 5-6 kids by 24-25. Just embrace motherhood in your late 20s and early 30s and move on.
Love your channel and the cooking/cleaning inspo!
