Also dont forget ! A lot of being punk and alt is an attitude and was created by the working class! Having out of fashion or torn up clothes doesnt make u less Alt bro !
Hello hello! What an honor! Thank you so much 💖 You've definitely just made my day 💙 Though since that video I've turned more into Caduceus with the pastels and the pastel pink hair ;b
glad that i unintentionally followed the tips already haha, getting my hair dyed professionally and get good shoes was a good decision! really glad i found your videos!
new yorker, emp, yesstyle, shein and thrift stores are my favorite places to shop at. but also depop is a great place for unique design clothing and that way you support small businesses !!
eh, I have a lot of ethical issues with yesstyle and shein bc fast fashion and extremely poor quality. Imma assume you're German too since u mentioned EMP and let me just hand out this little tipp - Attitude Holland/Attitude Deutschland carries better things than EMP AND isn't as overpriced as EMP is (they really are WAY overpriced). And w Attitude's selection it's a lot harder to pick sth that screams "tryhard" or "I have no idea what I'm doing", if that makes sense. And - idk if I'm just older, but I personally have completely grown out of NewYorker... Just my opinions tho, you do you! But BIG YAY for thrifting and Depop!!!💘 You go!!!
Oh _please_ don't support shein if you can avoid them. They've used child labor and sweatshops, and the clothes is cheap because it's really poorly made fast fashion
@@theundyingcat shut up no one asked. You're classist af. They probably don't use sweatshops and child labor anymore and if they do it's not their fault because they usually don't know about it when it happens in other countries
*me over here watching this after bleaching my hair twice* (I got chemical burn tho- my mom's a professional and was watching. I just have sensitive skin)
Im still trying to figure out what haircut fits me because i went to 3 different hair salons and i didnt like how my hair turned out. I even cut my hair and i didnt like it either lol
I have a tip for the shoe part: if you live in america, go to Ross once in a while, sometimes they end up with really cheap brand shoes (I found a pair of doc martens for cheap there) they sometimes have little tweaks or mistakes but the shoe is in good condition overall so it's really worth it if you want to save the money.
Thanks! It's honestly just the cheapest and flattest one I could find, those were my requirements lol look for stainless steel black rings online and you'll find good ones :)
My parents are super 2000s and love punk and rock heavy metal etc etc so my dad gets me old band t-shirts whenever we go to hot topic ^^. And my mother is super into ghosts and witches. For example ouija boards fairys cabins etc. So alternative fashion is like my life-
Does anyone know any good online thrift stores, I live in America (sadly) if that helps, I really want new clothes cause most of my clothes rn are from when I was like- 10 and dressed like a literal clown but I’m 🧚♀️✨broke✨🧚♀️ cause my Etsy decided to flop completely
Okay, but the no blue jean rule kinda blew my mind?? I have pretty much solely blue denim bottoms and I always struggle to make even slightly alt outfits that I’m comfy with, but then I was always too scared to buy anything that isn’t blue denim. Granted, I am solarpunk and on the softer side, so I can pull some denim (my denim dress is my fave thing in my closet, so versatile), but I wanna explore the punk side more, so I need to try some more bottom colors! Thanks for the advice!
Id also recommend swap meets post pandemic . You get together have a party and bring all your unwanted clothing , jewelry accessories etc. And trade them for stuff other people brought . Its a lot of fun 😉
It's Kleiderkreisel~ But it's entirely in German and you have to write people directly if you want to buy something. If you'te from one of the Getman speaking countries I'd totally give it a go
these tips r great n i just wanted to add my input but I bought the cheapest doc martens i could find brand new almost 3 years ago and I still wear the same ones, they last great but a good thing I also recommend is get urself a comfort sole too because the default sole gets uncomfy pretty fast

@ShatteredRippleBooks 0 seconds ago I bought a dress from the charity shop it had a cool spooky print on but it's too tight. It's t-shirt fabric and it's sleeveless. It dawned on me that I could cut it up the front and wear it as a vest because the print is also on the back. If it curls too much at the edges I'll just add some lace.
Makeup tip: GET A GOOD EYELINER. You can do a full face with eyeliner. Black lips, eyes, eyebrows ,freckles, designs. Trust me a good black eyeliner will get you far
This! Up until a few months ago I only ever used pencil eyeliner because it was all I knew how to use, but I decided to buy some liquid eyeliner and... Well I failed pretty bad for a while, but after watching some RUclips videos and practicing I'm pretty ok at it! :)
@@elaboratedreamer that's great I use liquid eyeliner for my whole loon and I love it. I'm only 14 so even tho I'm good at makeup I literally dont have any money
I just bought second hand dockers on vinted (formerly kleiderkreisel), I absolutely love them! there are so many good second hand pairs on there, I could hardly choose one.
I bleach my hair myself because part of being on a budget is you cant afford going to a hair dresser and i have never have patches or fried my hair off sooooo
Lol I bleach my own hair and my roommates hair (only cause I've learned how to do it right) but I learned using Manic Panic dye and then bleaching out remaining colour causes a reaction that BURNS YOUR FUCKING SCALP! My scalp is currently burned when I had bleach on for only 9 or 10 mins. So yeah don't bleach Manic Panic let it fade out itself.
one more reason to not use them ^^ I mean I personally have switched haircolours 2 times total and am planning not to have any haircolour other than pastel pink ever again, but-
I used to mix a whole shitton of colours, Arctic Fox brand Purple Rain & Poseidon and some other Directions brand colours I can't remember. I think Plum was one of them, but not the only one
When styling men’s shirts do you have problems with the shoulder length? I like the longer sleeve length but the shoulder seam is always really far down my arm and it looks weird...
I have very wide shoulders, but I also like the look of my shirts being too big (I'm a size XS and wear L-XL in men's shirts), so the seams droopimg down is just part of the deal
I got the opposite problem. I already go to different stores and all I see are boring basic pieces. I live in a really small town in a 3rd world country so...yeah. I googled about alt community in my country and there's none. I don't think people in my country even know what's alt is. Maybe only a small percentage is into alt but I never saw them anywhere. It surely reflected on the clothes being sold so I got a really hard time looking for interesting pieces. Jackets and outer would do but my country is so FXXKING HOT I swear I'm gonna melt if I wear more than 1 layer of fabric. Btw I wonder if non skinny black jeans exist in this world because I ABSOLUTELY HATE skinny jeans and all black jeans I saw sold on shops are all skinny jeans.
It's hella classist to assume everybody got the funds for slow fashion. I, for one, don't. The problem w fast fashion is buying and throwing out stuff all the time, if you buy 1 item and wear it for years, that's not an issue
@@meritimothy2053 I can't afford slow fashion either lol, so I do indirectly consume fast fashion once in a while by buying second hand and vintage. I do agree the problem is more so the throw away culture though. I found so many clothes, and even super good quality vintage, in the trash and recycling centers. It's kinda sad. :/ So I don't get why so many people keep constantly getting new stuff.
