I was sick when the sprays were on sale for $5.95, so my mom went for me to the store, so I wouldn’t miss the sale (so sweet!) and she didn’t get Strawberry Pound Cake that day. She said, “It smells funny, doesn’t smell like it use to.” So you are correct girl, this scent is different this year. Why would they change it?! Who knows.

I have the strawberry pound cake that came out with sweet petal pound cake and iced Lemon pound cake last year and it smells like burnt strawberry and baby powder to me. I don’t smell pound cake. I have a lotion from the first formulation and it smells really nice and like rich strawberry icing. This new formulation smells nothing like either of the other formulations I’ve smelled, it was so light!
I have the shimmer mist in SPC with the other packaging that’s simile to Sweet heart cherry packaging. I like it. Projection is nice. However, I do have the $4.97 strawberry cheesecake lotion from bodycology and it’s very nice I prefer it over SPC but I do like to layer both. 🍓 you are so funny Mary. You always have me cracking up. 😂
i think it still smells good lol. update: ok so i tried both the old and the new and i think u are right as well. the old one is more potent and more strawberry and lasts longer. now i dont hate the new one. it still smells good to me but yeah preference goes to the old one. its good thing i have a ton of it still from years gone by lol. hmm as i keep smelling it, i'm liking it more. yeah i dunno man, i like it lol. its also staying on my skin longer then i thought. sorry i just keeping adding to this as i wear it more lol. forgive me.
I passed on SPC. The last SPC I had, the lotion started smelling like sour strawberry yogurt and I just couldn't do it anymore. It wasn't old, I had only had it for like a year. I threw the lotion out and gave the spray to my daughter.

i hated the strawberry poundcake in the valentine’s day packaging, but much preferred it this time around so i picked it up with the blueberry bundt cake and pumpkin swirl cake. then again i’m a new collector so i don’t have the original for a point of comparison- but maybe it’s for the better.
I finally checked out BBW business plan today. As a publicly traded company their stocks have been flat for several years, they hope to make money for their shareholders by weakening products to save money. I don’t expect BBW to improve in the future, I think they hope to capture new buyers that don’t know how good it used to be. In a market economy like this they can either sell more volume or cut back on costs. I’ve resorted to buying mists on Mercari lately like OG Gingham Gorgeous.
If BBW can make fragrances like the Luxury line strong then they can make other fragrances stronger. It's not only BBW that has been weakening products. BBW to me generally is not the same as it used to be when I first was introduced to BBW back in the late 90's/early 2000's. Something is "missing" from their products. Just not the same and I wish they would go back to creating new fragrances like they used to.
You know what sucks Mary, the fact that I had the og first released bottle of SPC and hated it on my skin smelled like spoiled strawberry yogurt so i gave it to the goodwill 😫 come a couple years later I started liking it a lot so now I have 2 bottles from a few years back but I’ll never have my og back ☹️. I didn’t bother buying this one cuz I have enough with my other 2

They ruined strawberry pound cake last year imo. The original lasted forever. I had the lotion and could smell it the next day still. But then last year I got a bad batch with wayyyy too much chemical strawberry and it didn't last as long and was gross before it dried down. Now it's been kinda ruined for me, I'm over it. Though I did get the shimmer mist last year regardless, but returned my lotion and body cream from the bad batch. Strawberry snowflakes smells like nothing to me. I couldn't tell if I did or didn't like it. Everyone made it sound so good but it was too faint for me.
I feel like I’m over BBW for a good minute (still gonna watch your vids cause you’re fun). They keep watering down a lot of mists. Even with sales it’s not worth it. I’m gonna keep shopping VS instead. They have a lot of cute stuff coming!
Hi Mary! I've never been a huge fan of SPC even though I love gourmand fragrances. I actually do like SPC in the candle form in comparison to the body care. I picked SPC in the packaging previously in the full size ever that was released with Sweet Heart Cherry and Iced Lemon Pound Cake. I picked it up during SAS. I don't feel the need to pick up another, so skipping out on her this time around. I did smell her in the newest packaging though in store. For some reason I preferred SPC in the last packaging. Smelled sweeter to me. The comparisons just kill me LOL

I’m so glad I put this year’s version back down instead of purchasing it. However, I’m trying to get out of the habit of buying backups, and when B&BW does this kind of stuff it doesn’t help! Now I’m so glad I have a back up from last year. Dammit! Oh and I swear….If they bring back my beloved Wicked Vanilla Woods n water it down this year I’ll be so disappointed. A couple days ago I was looking for videos comparing this version to the one that was just at SAS, and I noticed there were multiple packages. I counted nine. Then I watched Bonnie's video and she said there was a faceted version. So at least ten...
I love your videos but I refuse to pay full price for anything else from B&BW. I haven't even been in for a sale and I really wanted to. I've been giving everything away and using mists as air freshener just to get rid of them. B&BW fell off big time.
I might need the watered down version of SPC, it's such a strong cloying scent one spray lasts the whole day😂. I got her once in '22 and haven't needed to repurchase 😮😮
I will never stop being sad that out of that original line, SPC was the one that never left instead of Margarita Cupcake. MC is one of my top 5 B&BW scents and of course, we never saw her again. 😭😭 SPC is so incredibly horrible and sour milk on my skin. It kills me that that is B&BW's go-to bakery scent. Thanks for the video! No way I had any interest in SPC but I enjoy hearing what you have to say regardless. 🩷
