      Ultra Pro has nothing to do with the Power mold of Wilson Ultra … it is based on the classic H19 . Why they call it the same is actually misleading

      @@keymonkey7352 I was going to make a similar comment. Yes, that’s why the specs are so different. It’s also why maybe he felt no power was coming from the “Pro”. I hope his arm is okay. That’s the first time I’ve seen Nic complain in any way regarding arm pain.

    I think there is definitely some truth about a racket making you move better. Every time I pick up my Prince Graphite Oversize, I tend to move much faster on the court and just smack the ball with spin even at my old age, but soon about 15 minutes of playing the reality hits me hard 😢. Good luck choosing the right racket (a very tricky process), really enjoy watching this series.

    Another great one! I think the new 2025 Head Gravity line will definitely be worth a try.
    I had a suggestion, although this will probably greatly drag out the production time to make each of your test videos. I was just thinking you may not be hitting at your best if you’re using the “pro” or heaviest version towards the end of the day. Since you’ve already been hitting for quite some time with the other 2 versions. What if you only hit with 1 racket per session. That way you can adjust to it throughout the day.

    I got the same control (good thing) with some arm pain (bad thing) with ultra pro. I have a sensitive elbow due to a previous injury. At the end, I chose a blade v9 98 (16*19) with no arm pain with a natural gut/poly hybrid (the same 20.6mm beam). It sprays sometimes. But much more stable with lead tapes (total of 4-6g: 3,9 o’clock & handle). Still 2HBH is slightly tough with the blade 98 sqin, open. I wish you test gravity 98 tour 2025 as well 😊 Considering you like 100 sqin and openness, I guess gravity MP (295g, 16*20) may be the best with some lead tapes. Not very thin beam but good control. Please continue the test series until you find the best. Great fun to watch👍

  • @l-_-lShadowCat
    @l-_-lShadowCat 2 дня назад +8

    There is an important remark near the end of the video: the low power return of the racket (the Pro) forces the player to swing harder (and possibly with a different gesture that the player is used to) and create arm pain. This fits my own (limited) experience. I never, ever, got any glimpse of arm pain or discomfort from playing with a PD for 5 years, even strung with polyester strings (23 kg). On the other hand, one hour with a lighter and more flexible racket (Head Graphene Speed S) strung with Head velocity (a relatively low power multifilament) leaves my arm sour for 3 days because that requires one to swing the hell out of it to give the ball some action. I think the cause of arm pain is more frequently due to the technique you need to use with a particular racket than the object itself. The more relaxed the setup allows you to play, the better.

    • @IntuitiveTennis
      @IntuitiveTennis  2 дня назад +2

      Very common, thanks for sharing your story.

    • @CB-mr1ci
      @CB-mr1ci 2 дня назад +5

      Yeah I agree with you. Most people think that a flexible racquet is more arm friendly, but a flexible racquet has less power so you need to work extra for the ball to have pace. A stiffer racquet will be more powerful so you can work less for the same output and save your arm in the process.

      @@IntuitiveTennis Nick, this story about RA got me thinking. Better said, it got me thinking even more. I played for 20 years between the ages of 14 and 34 and never had any elbow pain. I am now 55 and have been playing tennis again for 3 years. The first 2 years I played with a Babolat Pure Drive, a Dunlop FX500, and an Ezone 98 (also in tournaments) and had no issues. All high to medium (Ezone) RA rackets.
      But I switched to a Blade 98 (RA 61) at the beginning of this year (a super fine control racket, I love this racket), but,..within 2 months my whole elbow was wrecked. It started with a tired, heavy arm, and then unbearable pain in the elbow when I played a tournament.
      I stood on the sidelines for 7 months. Pain or a tired arm was never a problem with the other rackets. I thought it was the Blade because it has a very low RA of 61. But everyone contradicted me. Wilson Blades are soft and therefore good for your arm. But I doubted.
      I am now playing tennis again and after 2 weeks the misery started again; pain in the elbow again. I have stopped playing tennis for now, but I will definitely start again in 2025 with the Dunlop or Pure Drive (RA of 69 and 70) to see if that really makes a difference. Thanks for your story.

Maybe start the match with a heavier racket and then switch to a lighter more powerful racket as they get fatigued. Of course, as pros they can get the rackets all painted the same so only they know the difference. The companies don't care as it is simply about the branding to them.

Wilson, Yonex, Babalot, Head, Dunlop and Technifibre are more likely to sponsor a player than a coach. That narrows down to Diadem or Solinco. Given that he has not reviewed the Solinco racquets, he might be working on a deal with Solinco.

    The Pro or 'H19' is a great racquet but it's not for everyone. It feels very raw to me, no tech to reduce vibration. Some like this some don't. It's not arm friendly IMO. Also it has a low swingweight and most players will want to add lead to the hoop. This low swingweight is particularly noticeable on the two-hand backhand. Without lead it feels anemic and low powered. For context, my current frame is the Head Extreme Tour. Similar spec to the Ultra Tour but I prefer the feel and extra spin. The Ultra Tour is a bit too unforgiving for my level.

    Thats surprising that you developed an arm pain that quick with a racquet. Have you considered trying it again with different strings?
    That aside though I cannot blame you if you honestly did not like the Ultras. I tried different versions of the Ultras and besides the Ultra 100 CV I did not like any of the others
    The 100 v4 is not great and besides the Pro Stock it seems like Wilson has abandoned the Ultras. In my opinion Dunlop FX-series are better than the Ultras now in every way

    i think these play tests are stupid. Atleast the way you're going about it. If you play well, you love the racquet and if you don't you hate it. At this rate you'll never be 100% happy with any racquet.

    Big fan of this series. But now I really want to see the big racquet choice finals 🙂

    Why try a 280g Raquet when its obviously intended for women or junior players?

      It’s not even that different. I don’t think he’ll like it if he didn’t like the previous version.

    1970s technique. Rac stopping in front of the nose during the fh swing and catching it when hitting the wall. When on the court rac stopping opposite side near the side add in front, only caught it sometimes. 1970s fh backswing too. More like modern WTA. Nothing pretty about style. Didn't pay any attention to rac demo. The only rac's that matter are Yonex. Nothing else exists 😕

    I don’t think I have ever met someone who plays with the Wilson Ultra. How many does Wilson sell? Seems like it should be discontinued.

      I play with an Ultra V4, I see a few at where I play tennis. I’d say it’s more popular with women than men at least from what I’ve seen.

      I've been playing with Ultra 100v4 for the past couple of years since it was released. Love the frame.

    Ultra pro 18x20, should be tested as well, test no more, you cannot find a racquet with better feel than the ultra pro, either 18 or 16,
