Which is why my colleagues don't understand why I live where I live. Ati it's expensive.. For who? God has willed to me good things and I shall afford them. No mediocrity in my life. I gotta live well coz nimeona shida na macho. I raised the bar when I realized I deserve good things
Yaaassssss! Same happened to me...and since I moved in where they think it's expensive, I have never lacked. Raise the bar and the money will follow you oohhh
Poverty makes people feel and think they don't have options and denies them their right dignity. Caroline is right we need to raise the bar and not settle for less.
Oh my goodness Caroline! You’ve said it. We need to want better in every facet of our lives. From government services to working environments. We need more people to make noise for better. I’m so happy these conversations are happening.
Hey Caroline 👋🏾! Thank you for your content. I love the blue outfit. Is it a dress? It looks stunning on you. Keep sparking these conversations. That Rwanda story cuts deep. That's a commitment from a man who for all his faults is right on the money. Give people their dignity, show them that their humanity is precious - and their own purpose, their care for others, their guiding principle, work ethic, service to the common good...will just flow. Culture is from the top downwards - necessarily so.
Facts! Also most people think that just because a certain rental is priced at a certain limit, then it must be nice. Yet there's lack of water, it's dusty, etc. It's such a dangerous mindset to not challenge things surrounding us on a daily.
There is so much power in your words Caroline, wow! Each statement is spot-on, been noting every single nugget. I cant get enough. Thank you for putting this together. God bless you.
This is precisely why I love this lady, for her mentality and mindset. Thankyou Ma'am. And I'd like to be a part of your endeavor. I keep re-watching this video and when I hear you pick out this issue it re-assures me standards will rise at the pace they should everywhere in Kenya.
I agree! Every Kenyan citizen deserves access to clean water, election and good roads. That should be essential, including housing, they need to make knew laws on that. We all deserve access to great health facilities!!! We pay taxes this surely!!!
Miss Caroline Mutoko... You totally give me the IT factor each time I listen to you. You said it very well a while ago, never arrive. That means keep setting the bar higher each time. You just did with this one. I am not Solomon, neither Edwin, but you were talking to me directly. Thank you Miss Mutoko. I would love to do coffee with you, your intellectual stimulation is on a whole nother level.
I totally agree with you Caroline. I really hate those sub standard structures AKA death-traps - can NOT refer to them as homes that rogue developers put up in Kenya. The same really ruin the skyline of Nairobi. If new developers up their game and the building regulators actually do their work , the owners of the sub standard buildings will have no choice but to demolish the same.
Facts 💯 Mutoko! How you do one thing is how you do everything.....let’s elevate how we individually feel and think of ourselves. As a result... we will raise the bar on how we treat others and how we let them treat us in such as dating and or marriage, parenting, business and eventually politics. It’s ALL an inside job.
Thanks...awaiting to see what happened at Mowlem Heights. Yes we must raise the bar as consumers or service providers! Ha ha you remind of a boss who used to encourage/push us we (staff) to set the bar high and said only we (staff/company) could and must raise it higher...in the end you remain the best in what you do.
The struggle of house hunting in Nairobi.... You just wonder how people expect you to live that way...one landlord said you don't need drawers in the kitchen you can just carry yours from where you came from... I was SHOOOOK😳
Thanks Caroline for highlighting this and am in agreement 100% Unfortunately, some developers have taken advantage of customers- they show you an excellent show house just to get you committed in the project only to deliver something below minimum standards. Take for example, KINGS PRIDE developers built Telagen Gardens in Lavington Hatheru Road. The show room looked stunning but upon completion the houses had no borehole water, gym, swimming pool, generator - all which had been promised during construction. The owners had to bring in water tanks to Lavington!! Until they got together to sink a borehole with their own funds. To date, all the pending work was never done and this was in Lavington (carrying buckets of water upstairs). Could you also call out these kind of developers so this doesn’t happen to innocent Kenyans - it’s really bad for apartments that costed 20m. Who can hold them accountable? The developers (Major Karau) is very arrogant and he’s recently gone hiding.
I agree, we should demand better, in all housing is a beginning, leaders next, schools, our churches and pastors. Seems the only place we ask for the best is entertainment ....
Go girl. Listen to your heart. Things will fall in place. I did that with no plan B. I was able to think clearer once I was broke. It is only then that I came to know what I really wanted. I have never looked back. I nolonger have 1000 dreams. I have one. All the best
Please, being better doesn't mean quitting your job. Until you find something concrete, don't quit. Be better in your job right now, that's your current situation.
You talked about Rwanda...l thought about China.China wants to eliminate poverty there...and that goes for people living in villages there...Everything is possible under the Sun
Which is why my colleagues don't understand why I live where I live. Ati it's expensive.. For who? God has willed to me good things and I shall afford them. No mediocrity in my life. I gotta live well coz nimeona shida na macho. I raised the bar when I realized I deserve good things
Hehe nitafutie kazi
You're my twin. I believe I deserve the best in the land
Yes oooh
Eishhh.. Love the confidence
Yaaassssss! Same happened to me...and since I moved in where they think it's expensive, I have never lacked. Raise the bar and the money will follow you oohhh
Mediocrity is a disease of the mind, once ridden off you can soar and expect better in all angles of your life.
You are so articulate Carol, I feel intelligent once I've listened to you
Me too...
You and me both
You can say that again. And of course I love the Kiswahili inclusions.
Me too
Poverty makes people feel and think they don't have options and denies them their right dignity. Caroline is right we need to raise the bar and not settle for less.

Very True Caroline...We need to change as a people.
Nice, we must demand better, first from ourselves n not settle for less.
That message is paramount to us the youth.May God bless you my sister for giving us that positive spirit.

I needed to hear I deserve better. I'm quitting my job
Please try and not do that. Do you have a side hustle, or another job?
@@cathywanjiku1306 good question.
Please have a 3 month savings before you quit. Be smart please
