Monastery of Monte Cassino was totally destroyed by British Artillery. After really long fight for the Monastery, British decided to send Poles to capture it. Problem was, that when Poles were attacking most of German troops were evacuated. That's why Allies captured Monte Cassino. Germans just decided to evacuate the rest of staying alive soldiers, 'cause there was too many loses on their side.

That's great, well done.
Add pioneer tools to the back of the tank, shovel, pick, wrench. Also add some stowage boxes and a spare road wheel.
Place a few supply boxes for the defenders and some rubble pushed into defensive positions for the German troops.

Actually, the true winner were the german forces. Only a few hundred german Fallschirmjäger defended the city for a huge amount of time against superior forces and in the end, the allies had around four to five times higher casualties and needed way more time than expected

@@LeutnantBrick Who we consider the winner depends on how we interpret the win, if the winner is the one who suffered less losses, then you are indeed right, but if we look at it from the other side, that is, the one who won the monastery is the winner, the Poles are the winners.

But actually, there were also indian soldiers that fought that brave at Monte Cassino that the germans were impressed by them and let them retreat when they managed to encircle them. But I think it‘s similar to D-Day were only the US forces got recognition for the operation and their losses, and in italy it were mainly the british forces although there were ten to hundrets of thousands of Commonwealth soldiers stationed there, too
