Well..he did slow down, cammer did give a decent enough margin here I think.
And I would have excpected the truck to accelerated a bit harder given the very poor margins allready presented.
I agree that it's bad driving not to slow down to traffic that might interact with your lane at a differen pace and sense of speed and distance, but I don't think this is an example of that.
Though yes I would not have been that impatient, even though I think the truck should have at the very least known he was entering at a very limited window and should have accelerated a bit more to make up for it.

The car merging did not have adequate room between the cars and therefore should not have attempted the merge. They can put on their signal and see if a car in the next lane gives way to let them in, but your signal does not give you the right to try to cram your way in between other cars too closely at highway speed.

If there's traffic though, you can't stop and hold everyone up. Or like the driver at 7:06 stopping and changing lanes with no warning...
It's better just to accept you made a mistake, suck it up and "go around". Fair enough that can be painful if you end up on the wrong motorway junction and suddenly it's 10 minutes to the next one to turn around...
But to the people who drive like 7:06, they're going to do it to the wrong person some day. Even though the angry driver might be the one to cause an accident, most moad laws I'm aware of will place the lost driver at fault.

Proper planning prevents piss poor performance. Especially in the age of Google and smartphones, there's no excuse for not planning your route ahead of time if you're unfamiliar, and you can even have it read out to you step-by-step in real time!
If all else fails and you do screw up, you're only a quick "recalculating" away from getting back on track. Make a choice rather than becoming a traffic hazard.

something people should know. A lot of times a car is "totaled" by a number of things, this is usually the value of the car minus the cost to fix the damage. cost to fix doesn't even have to exceed car value just get within a ranged of it. I've seen cars be totaled due to a mirror being broken off.
My suggestion is to get an estimate on the cost to fix the damage before looping in your insurance, if the cost to fix is higher than your car value, but still reasonable to fix instead of a new car then do it off the books.

As soon as you identify that idiocy and the potential accident going on, then go ahead and slow a little when it's safe to.
