I'm the noob drummer, just been practicing for a year now. I've started learning couple songs recently, among others "the pretender". I find out you got best lessons over youtube: with slow tempo, divided into small parts, each explained step by step, all sections with accurately notes - this really help in learning. Very thanks and waiting for more! Still few weeks ahead of me before I play the whole song :)

Probably not going to see this but love the video, it helped a lot. The only thing is that at the end during the part that leading into the outro instead of hi hat, it’s a ride cymbal on the quarter note and during the outro, instead of ride notes, it’s an open hi hat on the quarter note except beat 1 of all 4 bars. But this video helped a lot in the middle section during the few parts that were just a bit too muddy for me to figure out. But every time I don’t know a song, I look for your vids because you break it down very nicely, so keep it up

Not sure. I only figure it out by listening closely, so maybe your teacher is hearing it differently to me. You can work on playing both ways and then pick your favourite 😃
