I also loved it because it shows how knowledgeable she actually is about her interests. She immediately knew the woman was lying because she was familiar with the fabric, and because she already saw the dress in another issue of teen vogue, so she's very well-versed in fashion. And in the court scene she could say the rules of perming your hair off the top of her head! What the hell does that mean, "a Gen Z icon during the age of millennials who hadn't quite gotten the memo yet"? I'm a millennial and I was 8 years old when this movie came out, a young child. And most of Gen Z wasn't born yet. What is with people making everything about a generation identity? The character of Elle Woods isn't about being confined to a generation, hence the Jacquie/Marilyn reference. Elle is timeless
@@Amalthea16 it means generation behavior. Millennials are not just the ones that were born in your year, it’s usually from 1981 to 1996. As you can see, and don’t take it personally, there are a lot of common behaviors between generation. Millennials used to rivalize girls against each other, and gen z try more to support one another, worries about social causes, and a lot of themes that were not considered important for millennials. Therefore, Elle Woods has more gen z actions…
Can someone explain why I have yet to find another movie like this where the main character stirs my soul so much? She is classy, gracious, studies hard, dresses up, is smart and pretty and an independent thinker. She's ambitious, a go getter, stands up for what's right even when no one else does. She has a strong sense of right and wrong and does the right thing even when no one is looking, goes after doing the right thing even when it's so much harder. She's kind to others and sticks up for her friends, helps others less fortunate or in unfortunate situations. I'm an idealist and relate so hard to her child like sense of what the world should be like, could be like if people were just honest and did the right thing. I love her forever 💖

I also really liked her relationship with Emmet, how he always supported her no matter what and he actually respected her and saw her as an equal. And I also liked how their relationship wasnt the main event of the movie, he is just like a bonus. I think that their relationship of mutual respect and admiration is super healthy and one of the best "chick flick" relationships ever. Even on the second movie (which is a bit worse and def not as iconic) he is so devoted to her and knows her worth. Idk I just love this movie. Its my comfort movie🥺💕
Can we acknowledge that this movie was made TWENTY YEARS AGO in 2001 and is a million times more relevant today than the movies being released in 2021? Either this movie and its underlying themes were absolutely ahead of their times or we regressed as a society and un terms of movies.
When I first watched this movie, I didn't realise her wardrobe choice was sort of a metaphor for her character. She started out as pink but considering switching the colour to make herself different for her proposal - which kinda showed her eagerness to please others despite her own preference. Then she got to harvard and she dressed like a peacock but was not given any respect by her classmates or teachers. She eventually dialed down her clothing colour to more neutral and professional black, all the way to when assisting in Callaghan's case. Almost as if she was dialling herself down consciously in order to gain respect from others. But when she realised it never worked to begin with, she switched back to her bubblegum pink clothing as if she was done trying to impress others

I really love Elle Woods' fighting spirit and she is so genuine with herself and also to anyone. And she really know what women empowerment and sisterhood is.
throughout Hollywood the feminine character was always demonised, and the "cool girl" was masculine. I love this film so much that you don't have to compromise your femininity to be powerful
Ugh, I love her for so many reasons. She showed that girls can be pretty and smart! She showed that even when people are mean/catty to you, you should treat them with kindness and see the good in people. She showed that even when things get tough you must persevere and remain true to your convictions.
the assumption that women who are into fashion are dumb is so weird. even as a kid, i found it weird (and I wasn’t into fashion at all). you need to understand things like colour coding, patterns, what goes with what, designers, the worth of a clothing item so you can determine wether it’s worth it to buy it or not, the sizes, etc.

I would be so flattered if a guy would break up with me claiming I'm more of a Marilyn than a Jackie. All due respect to Jackie, she was classy, clever and respectful but Marilyn was a legendary goddess.

At 2:16 when you know he is no longer worth your time.
aww elle’s little “i love costume parties” is so wholesome and cute, they’re so awful for tricking her like that
SHE IS ICONIC
SHE IS THE MOMENT
Hmm.. what about Kill Bill or Bridget Jones' Diary? Or Even Elizabeth Bennett of Pride and Prejudice.
@@ami7mina Kill Bill was good although I'm not crazy about gore and violence. Bridget Jones I think was much more focused on romance no? Pride and prejudice haven't seen that yet I will check it out thanks for the rec!
@@Secretzstolen Oh, you betta! watch Pride and Prejudice 1995 BBC Version!
@@ami7mina Kill Bill's different 'cause it doesn't have that wholesome feeling that I presume what the OP implies in their sentiments about Elle Woods. However, Beatrix was one of the best written female protagonists in a while; she's strong-willed, dangerous yet shows compassion to those who deserve it, and basically a survivor.
She’s a princess
I also really liked her relationship with Emmet, how he always supported her no matter what and he actually respected her and saw her as an equal. And I also liked how their relationship wasnt the main event of the movie, he is just like a bonus. I think that their relationship of mutual respect and admiration is super healthy and one of the best "chick flick" relationships ever. Even on the second movie (which is a bit worse and def not as iconic) he is so devoted to her and knows her worth. Idk I just love this movie. Its my comfort movie🥺💕
I like how Elle doesn’t apologise for being ‘girly’ or too effeminate. She does her job and she does it in a way that works for her.
Simple story line but it’s relatable what makes this movie is incredible 😭 how I miss good 2000s movies 🍿
The way she helped the nerdy guy - my absolute favorite scene!
"so you are breaking up with me because im too blonde?!" she's truly iconic
Can we acknowledge that this movie was made TWENTY YEARS AGO in 2001 and is a million times more relevant today than the movies being released in 2021? Either this movie and its underlying themes were absolutely ahead of their times or we regressed as a society and un terms of movies.
SHES SUCH A GIRLBOSS😕❤️❤️
Don't insult her like that.
Joaquin Donoso huh?
Yesssss... I can't believe I didn't notice that before.....wow
in a weird way elle has always been an inspiration to me. i was treated the same way when i joined AP classes my junior year of hs. my ex friends never thought i could do it and that i was too stupid to do it. so the first time one of them asked me “ur taking 4 AP and 2 honor classes..?” and i literally kid u not responded w elle’s iconic line (1:20) “what like it’s hard?” best moment ever
Good for you, don’t let them give you impostor syndrome
Her energy & quick comebacks that weren’t what you’d expect make her character extremely loved. Let’s all let our inner Elle out 👏👏👏
One of my favourite movies ❤
there's just something about the 2000s movies' dialogue's audio quality that really makes them nostalgic.
One thing about the guidance consular scene is that law school would be interested in her major since it’s unique and the fashion industry need lawyers
"I'll show you how valuable Elle Woods can be!" Love her!! 🤗💜
love how it's not at all self-centered when she screams ''ME!'' when she got the internship she worked so hard for, like yes you deserve this, be proud and enjoy without feeling guilty about it
"I don't need backup , I'm going to Harvard."
What's the level of confidence!"
Over 9000
The scenes where she pretends that guy has broke her heart just to help him out and then the next time he sees her he gets a book off a high shelf for her are one of my fav parts from the film
“So you’re breaking up with me because I’m too…. BLONDE?!”
Her delivery on that is just perfect 😂😂
I really love Elle Woods' fighting spirit and she is so genuine with herself and also to anyone. And she really know what women empowerment and sisterhood is.
She literally helped me realize you Can be so feminine and still be smart. Don’t let others tell you otherwise
Elle was a BOSS before Law school, after going she just overly out shined everyone else. She's totally inspirational ans confident
She's already cross examining in the first scene without knowing anything about what lawyers do. Iconic queen.
"MEEEE!" That she can deliver one word with such perfect comedic timing is just phenomenal.
This video is literally my emotional support 😩❤️🔥
I love this movie. Elle just proves that intelligence shows itself in different ways. She's also so sweet and confident in who she is.
I swear, she is my idol! She knows her strengths and her power, and that makes her the smartest person in the room.
throughout Hollywood the feminine character was always demonised, and the "cool girl" was masculine. I love this film so much that you don't have to compromise your femininity to be powerful
At the restaurant scene with Warner I thought "WOW, she's so cringy" and at the end of the movie I thought "She is ICONIC!!"
I love this movie SO damned much! It's one of the best pick-me-up, comfort movies. Reese is just adorable. And really kinda badass!
2:37 the way she screams “ME!” will always make me laugh 😭
My all time favorite character. When I feel down and bump into a clip with her, I instantly get better. Thanks, Elle !
Ugh, I love her for so many reasons. She showed that girls can be pretty and smart! She showed that even when people are mean/catty to you, you should treat them with kindness and see the good in people. She showed that even when things get tough you must persevere and remain true to your convictions.
Her comebacks were ✨️elite✨️
One of the best female characters ever, you don't have to loose your individuality just to show you're smart and can be successful ❤️
He like “don’t pay rent? Then I will give you a payment to heaven.” 😂
"I don't need back ups, I'm going to Harvard"
Such a queen 💋
SHES SO ICONIC i love her
the assumption that women who are into fashion are dumb is so weird. even as a kid, i found it weird (and I wasn’t into fashion at all). you need to understand things like colour coding, patterns, what goes with what, designers, the worth of a clothing item so you can determine wether it’s worth it to buy it or not, the sizes, etc.
Who the hell calls fashion weird ?! Everything we wear (regardless of gender) is fashion! Fashion gives a powerful statement of a person and what it represents them
@@juanchoresultay2704 some people in the modern day view fashion as being a "vapid" and "no substance" interest for women in particular to have, mainly due to misinterpretation, internalized misogyny and fast fashion/mall culture
I always love the way she says, "ME!" when she finds out she got the internship.
Elle is one of the best strong female representation !
She's super clever, emotionally intelligent and empathetic, she cares for everyone and still is very humble !
THE BEND AND SNAPPPPP 😂❤️
“…works every time!”
I would be so flattered if a guy would break up with me claiming I'm more of a Marilyn than a Jackie. All due respect to Jackie, she was classy, clever and respectful but Marilyn was a legendary goddess.
this movie is just more than perfect and the actors literally ate it up.
I loved this movie
I wholeheartedly love Elle, especially because she’s shown to be emotional, but also smart and strong. Sometimes it seems like being emotional is portrayed as bad, but it’s not. Elle proved that while you may need time for a good cry every now and then, you can also prove someone innocent in court. Vote for Elle!
She is an icon, she is a legend and she is the moment, now come on now!
I love Elle Woods. She really did prove everyone wrong! She is a queen!
You should do a version of this but with the musical
Thank you so much for the suggestion
she’s such an icon, i aspire to be like her one day.
“What like it’s hard?”
THIS GIRL IS A QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your user name is literally me
Fr thoughhh
I really need a friend like, her positive energy is just...
elle woods will always be someone i look up to, she teaches a lot of great lessons in this movie.
Hey,
This video has started to get ALOT of attention which I'm so grateful for. I'd request you to check out my other videos too :)
Thank you
What I love most about Elle is that she’s never vindictive or cruel. She really sees, or wants to see, the best in everybody.
0:30 Marilyn Monroe was actually of a genius level IQ who had a thing for smart guys. I can see why, if Elle is her in this instance, she would drop him.
omg ur so underrated?
also! BEST MOVIE EVER
Thank you so much
1:15 I love how she says “law school 🤪”
Are you breaking up with me because I’m too blonde!?!??
Iconic ❤❤😂
Elle woods gives me motivation for nursing school. I know it’s hard but I know with a lot of work , dedication , and studying I can make it even if it’s a hard major.
The second Elle asked what fabric it was, the lady should’ve gave up.
I love how this film played with the image of the "girly girl." It's still one of a kind.
