Vasiliy Lomachenko, a three-weight world champion, will make his triumphant New York City return in the 12-round main event Saturday, October 29 against undefeated contender Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Rising featherweight contender Robeisy "El Tren" Ramirez will fight Argentina's Jose Matias Romero in a 10-round showdown Saturday, Oct. 29 at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Romero replaces former world champion Jessie Magdaleno, who was forced to withdraw from the bout with a hand injury.
U.S. Olympic silver medalist Richard Torrez Jr. (3-0, 3 KOs), who is coming off a 44-second knockout over Marco Antonio Canedo in August, looks to make it 4-0 in a six-round heavyweight special feature.
#LomaOrtiz, Ramirez-Matias, and Torrez Jr. headline a card that will stream live and exclusively on ESPN+. Promoted by Top Rank, tickets starting at $56 go on sale Thursday, September 15 at 12 p.m. ET and will be available to purchase at Ticketmaster.com.

Not overlooked..overseen.. switch hitters are much more dangerous but not ortiz to Loma..i respect the kid 4 beating jermel but that aint loma or shakur..but he's good
Ortiz is sharp and can make adjustments to switch to south paw half way through a fight and dominate the latter half against another good good champion. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.
I think Ortiz could take some of the early rounds against Lomachenko. It could take him a few rounds to figure out Ortiz and Ortiz looks talented enough that he might edge those rounds. I think it will be a typical Lomachenko fight after that and get more one sided every round until the finish.

When I first watched this fight, I was surprised at Ortiz.. He looks brilliant. I instantly suspected he'd give loma some big trouble. Actually, anyone at 135.
Rewatching it now.. Loma didn't get hit with half the shots the night of their fight.
Loma may have looked a little rusty, but he avoided 90 percent of the barrage..

Ortiz is someone who will be a problem for many. This division is stacked but Ortiz has a chance if he improves even more. My favorite "second" tier fighter right now is Frank Martin. He might be tier 1 soon. He has tier one skill and has picked everyone apart so I would take him over Ortiz but Ortiz got a lot of good skills. Footwork, IQ, speed etc

Good fighter
Ortiz can brawl harder than Lomachenko but loma is more skilled and slick. Loma will avoid a brawl and use his angles and win a decision. Ortiz does know how to cutoff on the left side which can make thing really really interesting.

@@ReggieCelestin His combos are nasty and keeps him active and an busy fighter but I see him slowing down later in the rounds. Loma is really good in the late rounds when he study his opponent move and adjust to counter them. The only way to beat loma is to work on his stamina and endurance then he may have a chance, Unless Ortiz has power. Ortiz never been in a 12 round fight so fighting in the late round might be a problem for Ortiz.

Strong, athletic, young, great size. However at times over active, minimal head movement, and somewhat flat footed. Ortiz has talent and I can see him being a top name at 135 later down the line… however Loma is too technical, his footwork is immaculate and Ortiz has nowhere near the same experience nor fought any opponent close to his level. He was taking a lot of hits from ADORNO and HERRING.. so imagine what Loma can do with his footwork and hand speed. I like Ortiz but I don’t think he has what it takes yet to beat him…Loma is too technical, too hungry and has a lot left to prove. Loma by UD.
