- Potentially the last song the mighty Status Quo will ever perform live...
Here's "Burning Bridges (On And Off And On Again)", the final song of the encore of possibly Status Quo's last-ever gig.
As things stand there is no more Quo activity planned. One day, some day, they will slide away; turn around and call it all a day. Maybe Francis will change his mind... or will he walk away with no goodbye? Has he scratched the writing on the wall?
Recorded live at Vivary Park, Taunton, Somerset, UK on Friday 23 August 2024.
Wow!! Status quo will always be part of my life, fab 👌 😊
Will you please farewell the no.1 rock'n'roll band in the world... the magnificent STATUS QUO!!!! Thanks for so much over the years. 🎸🎸
Agreed
Just a fantastic rock band. They’ve served us well. Thanks Francis.
I had the pleasure of seeing the original frantic four. What a band and what a great night I had.
Done stop keep going this is the group that has kept me feeling young at heart for sixty years
I have been a fan since 1969 . Brilliant band .
Wonderful to see that you've been a Fan for so long. Well done you.
1967 for me, so started with 'Matchstick Men' ..... still love that one
1980 for me
Me also.
I was born in 1969... I waited until 1978 for my first Quo gig.
Sounding that slick they should go straight into the studio and make a final album. I appreciate there’s no money in it but it would make a lot of us fans very happy one last time. 🎸
Yup .... despite the "nay sayers", the band were in fantastic form c. 18 months ago when they came through Aberdeen ... loads of energy, playing great, excellent set list ... (Rain was just stellar) ... Francis also had sense to let others take over singing duties for certain songs ... meaning loads of opportunities for some snappy guitar work ... I've seen them several times and the most recent was excellent .... also saw Francis late last year doing his interview / chat / play gig and it was great ... going again next May when he comes back to town .... CMcG, Aberdeen, Scotland
Thank you, Status Quo! You are my number one forever. The tour is over, but I believe you will continue your music. So I won't say goodbye.
I love you so much!
Love the Quo my favourite band thanks for the nights at the NEC in Birmingham in the 90s .Hard to say Goodbye to a great band but I've had my photo taken with Rick and Francis to x
Been rocking with the quo from 1980 will miss them playing live.
I am went to QUO since 1978. I did the last time 26.July in Ludwigsburg/ Germany. I still get goose bumbs when I see / hear them....However, I can understand Francis decides to stop. I and lot of us had decades of fun, but as they stated ones...." beginning of the end.." ....
me too... First Quo gig was in 1978
Brilliant performance Status Quo and Francis Rossi
Yes a farewell cd .I'd buy it definitely.
Best gigs I've ever been too, such joy ❤❤
Best UK rock band evah
What a brilliant show!!
Loving this band has been like a 'difficult relationship' that I haven't been able to leave. The 'highs' have been amazing, the 'lows' have been embarrassing and sometimes sad. IF their last ever live song turns out to be (bloody) Burning Bridges in Taunton (she knows I hate that dress), well, that's Quo for you.
I'm saddened but it is inevitable. I've followed them since Matchstick men aged 15. Thank you Francis, a prayer for Ricky(who is rocking it up in the sky), and Alan. John you were one of the great drummers, and all that have followed in their collective footsteps. Life is a little sadder now
Please please quo never ends....i love them 50 years
Was in Chemnitz and Leipzig. Somehow I am pissed off they never played Burning Bridges in Germany. But I'm very gratefull for every show I have seen.
Francis is sounding as good as ever. I'm sure they'll be back
And if Franc calls it the end for Status Quo, what exactly prevents Richie, Leon and Rhino continue with a new lead singer/guitarist? Even under another name if Franc does not allow to use SQ name.
No just no that's it
It all depends on how Francis is in 2 years time. He said it was hurting him physically this time, just going into rehearsals alone for the tour, so I don't see him changing his mind after his tunes and chat tour.
Ive been to Quo gigs since 1978...
Averaging 6 gigs per tour
I missed this year due to work commitments and ill health.
Gutted is an understatement.
I do have a few tickets for the tunes n chats gigs in 2025. I dont think its going to scratch the itch.
Glad you filmed it.x
Brilliant Band . Hopefully they'll do a few one off gigs in the future
If that is indeed it then they really did go out at the top of their game
@Iainrankingtheobscure I would say that the fact that they're still selling out shows 40 years later would make that incorrect, the frantic four tour was successful for nostalgic purposes but they went straight back into their regular shows with great ease
A went to see them Halifax piece hall posted some footage my channel, your vidio superb quality, the show was amazing, hope they do another tour,a recken a official farewell tour next year, why not ❤
Was at Halifax, what a great show, were the alarm support act.
Not so much The Alarm just Mike Peters using the name.
@@ESCORT741 same at halifax.
If you were truly there, you would no
Brilliant the mighty quo.sure they will be back 😀 👍 😊
He'll be back.
And the crowd knew every word - Just the way it should be.
Even to this pile of dung
5.50 There music is timeless, not like most of the rubbish being churned out today.
Massive tour comin' up in 2026. They are not done yet 💪
Are you sooo shure ny friend❤❤????
Andy will be 80 years old in 2026, John 74 and Francis 76. Can't see Andy touring at 80, and Francis is more focused on his solo tours. Status Quo have not split up, but will continue to exist in name only.
@@FrozenHero2010 you are right but Rhino says he'd be up for one more, Francis will keep himself fit (God willing his health), Andy could be replaced, like it or not. Paul Hirsch comes to mind, he did it once so why not and I'm sure Andy still gets a good paycheck.
Francis is stubborn but he is also Quo and Quo is a huge part of his life so a change of mind after a few months off would not be a shock.
@@hgn2321 Rhino will rock til he drops! He's got some RR gigs this autumn to keep him busy.
IMO Francis doesn't want to do a full blown Quo tour anymore. He's living the "easy" life touring solo - he gets to sit down for the whole show and there's less work involved. I'll be seeing him next April (Spring yes, Summer no and not Wednesday).
@@FrozenHero2010John will be 73 Francis will be 77😊
Yeah, right, I went to their farewell concert in 1984.... Give it 6 months...
Bless Richie at the end milking the last moment of the last Quo gig 😢
I could be wrong here, but have I heard that Francis is prepared to do one LAST Tour??????
55 years on this planet and I have never heard of them. I didn't miss anything. Not my style.
Never mind we all have a cross to bear
Should have had the farewell at the O2 in London.
I think that come next year he'll want to do a few shows but not go touring
Time now to draw d'ol pension
I agree
cmon you reds
so that's it ? Can't tell with Rossi
@@paulkenney4021 Nobody knows for sure... especially the band!
Another final tour?
I saw Francis on his his acoustic tour, he said with his age the Quo gigs are too physically demanding now, he'll do acoustic solo shows for another few years
2+0+2+5 😅
2025 and 2026 there Sure will be Somit Gigs..but Not 42 like this year
👍👍👍👍😇😇
