@Brian Williams His lips moved. That's how you can tell.
@Brian Williams From the very first sentences of the interview he starts lying and it just builds from there. He is interfacing with business? All the way up to the 'Oven Ready Deal' he left business in the dark with how they were supposed to prepare for Brexit. Now the current Tory stance is it is their own fault for not being ready. He is someone who has "always championed immigration"? This is a joke right? He says that with a straight face? He has barely opened his gob and already told two lies already. The rest is more of the same... The UK is suffering from the pandemic putting pressure of all kinds on the system? Why are all the crisies not being seen everywhere else? No petrol shortage here. No crops rotting in fields here. No vet shortages here. No empty shelves in supermarkets here. No pigs with nobody to slaughter them here. No CO2 shortage here. No HGV driver crisis here. No energy crisis here. No wave through border control here. No issues with import or export here. Just to name a few of the new crisies that seem to be emerging by the day. But of course, he tells you it is happening everywhere else and you still need me to explain this to you. To the rest of the World watching on, the UK has started looking like '1984'. It is almost too strange to believe. If it were a science fiction novel, the editors would advise you to tone it down as it is too unbelievable to be accepted by your audience. You need to take a step back and look at all of this objectively. None of this is going to end well for Britain.

They have had 10 years to remedy this situation! Nothing changed! Now they wasn't to increase pay dramatically which will cause massive inflation which they as a party have been against for the ten years! We'll be back in the 1970's at this rate, except one could survive on unemployment benefits then.
It honestly looks like it's heading that way everyday!
The Tories would really like to take Britain back to Victorian times, but I’m afraid they won’t manage to draw the country further back than the 1970s indeed.
This morning, I watched Boris being interviewed by LBC - or at least they were trying to interview him. His strategy it seems was to bluster as long as possible, while frequently looking over his shoulder (possibly to check how much time was left) because the longer he draws out the answers, the fewer questions that can be asked and the less chance he's likely to be asked anything challenging.
Pleased that didn't happen here.

Waffle, waffle and more waffle. The Office for National Statistics (Govt Dept) has stated that the average real weekly wage (after inflation) was £491 p.w. at the end of April 2021. At the end of July 2021 it was £488 p.w. The Tories are comparing wage figures now to when they were at their lowest in the middle of the pandemic. Increasing wages are suddenly very important. However, when the triple lock on pensions was taken away the Tories told us to ignore wage increases as these were artificially high due to the pandemic and furlough. Double standards run right through this government. All of the things he wants to fix are the result of 11 years of Tory government.

High inequality results in low productivity. Tax the rich and increase minimum wage.
No don't increase minimum wage. Put a maximum wage in and cap the greedy executives based on how much they're prepared to pay the people that work for them. Make it so they can't take more than 20x their lowest paid worker and watch as wages rise and inflation doesn't.
@@shamanahaboolist I think that is also an option, though it does seem like it's potentially a bit messy. There's no reason they can't simply outsource all low paying jobs to an 'unaffiliated' but essentially subsidiary company to avoid such restrictions.

Hi5 for the journalist!
In the EU, Great Britain was the country that had opened its borders most widely for work immigration, especially for Eastern European workers. Incidentally, contrary to the conviction of many other countries, which demanded industry-specific transition periods etc., in order to prevent or cushion dumping wages at the expense of the national workforce. In the end, the British blamed the EU for the consequences of Great Britain’s own decisions. One wonders who has been ruling the country for 11 years when Johnson talks about the need to train workers for the jobs that EU citizens took over before Brexit.
And now it is again the case that, for example, Boris Johnson, when it comes to Northern Ireland, no longer wants to hear about contracts that he both knows well and has personally signed.
