Shivshankar menon is on a different league.
    So intelligent 🔥

True... Very True...But sadly the majority nowadays will characterise him timid, ineffective, safe player at best and a coward and anti-national at worst... Especially with an unfair comparison with Ajit Doval and S.Jaishankar.

1-agree on the part of giving information by book. The talks of a locked room shouldn't be used for writing books.
2- agree on the national anthem part Also. No one should compell anyone to stand up for national anthem .but wonder why any one would deny to stand up.
3- on srilanka and peace keeping force seemed like he was defending .
4- disagree on international isolation of Pakistan.
5- is really wait and watch is the way to deal with Pakistan army ??? May be he is right to some extent .but in that case its scary .

As per him, everything that Congress govts did was perfectly fine, even getting indian soldiers killed in sri-lanka. And everything that current govt is doing is just continuation and mostly all decisions are political.
This is really sad for such a high regarded person to take such views. Does this have any relation to he being NSA in UPA?

This person is proving why he was chosen as the NSA by congress.
Not surprising considering the fact that his father and grand-father were also diplomats in Congress-Socialist era and his great grand-father a registered congressi.

He is speaking like , everything that happened in the past was correct because "hey we are still here , aren't we" like attitude. For someone who has been in the government for so long, he should have more to say on past mistakes, like slipups which caused the 26/11 in the first place, rather than just saying it all worked out for the best.

Madhu ji, Why are you hell-bent to try and portray the current government as the bad one. I mean why keep insisting that going public on the surgical strikes was done just to get domestic sentimental gains? And by the way the story was not planted in the media. The DGMO gave a press conference that the army conducted surgical strikes. This is not planting a story. May be it was just a change in tactic. May be we wanted to test Pakistan as the old tactics have not really worked as per your own admission. It's sad that a journalist as senior as you would be so biased and hell-bent to somehow prove the current government as destructive. Mr Menon has very clearly stated that all actions by government should be in national interests, what makes you think that only the current government does not have India's national interests in mind?

appeasment will kill more than that number over a longer period of time. appeasement and withdrawal is the root cause of war as well. so in the end…..failed policy.
