Been in that situation before. Treble hook, two barbs sunk into my neck. It's kind of strange. You know that it's not a terrible injury because it's just small hooks sunk into muscle. But you also know there is no easy way to get them out. It's either push them through the other side of the skin and cut the barbs off. Or rip them back out and let the barbs tear extra flesh up on the way out. So, it's not life threatening, it's not even really serious. After they are out, it's really not a big deal. But actually getting them out. That sucks.
@J.T.B.91 yes feet are underrated till you need them. Those hooks aren't sterile especially if they've touched bait. You have to consider infection and sepsis which is often fatal if you don't get quick medical attention.

When its deep, you don't just pull it out. You have to cut the hook and push it through. I got my finger one might with a massive hook. Had to drive myself to the hospital. They cut the other end and had to push it through, and I'll say this, my skin was calloused, so it didn't want to break the skin. Needless to say it hurr like a son of a bitch
