Honestly the more of these I see, the more I want to tighten up my credit card spending. I found a checking account that offers 1.5% unlimited cash back on debit purchases and I’m gonna slowly transition away from consumer credit cards. I feel like they add too much complication and put you behind every month instead of doing a budget and depositing that dollar amount into the spending account at the beginning of the month
Mint handles credit cards very well. I run everything through a credit card first and it tracks just like it was a debit card other than one credit and debit transaction when I pay it off.
@@mrkeki1 I have and use mint currently. It still doesn’t change the fact that I’m running a dozen different cards and I’d rather just fix my spending structure to always be ahead rather than continuously one month behind

I'm very conservative about money but I think this guy deserves to get the truck he wants. He could pay mostly cash and pay it off in a year. This guy has been really good (besides the crypto) with his money. Get the truck! Just my humble opinion. 🙂
People think crypto is throw in several thousand dollars and get rich in a week. It takes years of discipline and due diligence, just like anything else, to "make it" with cryptocurrencies.
I think everyone should own a new car once in your life but not to the detriment of your finances. I did it's now 12 years old and cost over its lifetime just for the car is about 4k per year. So if you buy a new car it needs to last to make cost benefits reasonable.
I was thinking in a similar place to this guy vehicle wise recently, 2007 Tacoma with 147,000 miles. Radio doesn't work, AC sucked, driver's seat was worn out. I bought an OEM seat cover and had top of the line memory foam put in it to fix the driver's seat for $450, had the freon recharged for like $100, and installed a touchscreen head unit with Android auto/Google car play and a backup camera for like $200. I bought OEM headlights for $100 because mine were smoky/faded, and put LED bulbs in them. For less than $1000 my truck is like new, which frees up all the money I was allocating for a new truck to put toward the principle of my mortgage, knocking like five years off my term. This guy should put some work into the car he has, especially if he works from home and doesn't drive much.
“There’s no backup camera” You don’t need to be on the road. Drivers that rely on all this technology to do basic stuff such as, oh, idk…DRIVING IN REVERSE…don’t need to be driving. Buy a bike or retake drivers training.
If something sounds to good to be true or everyone is getting rich from this one thing, be weary. You're going to make mistakes in life, learn from it, don't repeat your mistakes, keep moving forward.
Hondas are decently notorious for running at least 250k mi. My knowledge runs more with pickups, but he said things are hanging off held by yarn. Most of the plastics in the front end can either be replaced or taken off if it’s the under body skid plate. If he managed to change the oil every 3-5k mi I wouldn’t be concerned about running out and buying a new vehicle under the fear that the Civic will have some sort of catastrophic failure. AC can get done for under $1000 depending on parts and labor cost. Certainly wouldn’t rush into a Chrysler, Fiat or any euro car. Stick with Toyota or Honda again, most recent Ford sedans are decent as well

Oh and Speedkar99 did a mechanical breakdown of the Ford Escape which it's built on.. and it's built SO cheap with ZERO thought put into serviceability. It shouldn't be surprising honestly
I agree Notorious. This guy has saved a bunch of money and has a bright future. He should get the Maverick. I believe strongly in saving but I also know life is short. If you are responsible you should be able to buy what you want once in a while.
150k miles is a lot, but after some maintenance it can be turned back to a nice car. I'm driving a simple car myself (2014 Skoda Octavia. I was the only owner through its history) and I don't see a reason to buy a better one. Almost bought a Taycan in cash but was smart enough not to waste money like that.
Caleb, are you aware of EV incentives that bring the cost of ownership of entry level EVs (like Tesla Model 3 RWD and whenever GM brings out their Bolt replacement) over 8 years (basically the warranty period for the battery) to around the same as a 20k gas car upon initial purchase (which might be around 30-35k over the course of 8 years with maintenance, repairs and gas costs)?
Cant fix stupid, never invest in anything your not willing to lose, I invested 100% of my money in real estate, my inheritance etc… in property in 2005. Lost EVERYTHING in 2009. 😭😭😭

Love Honda Civics, got another 100k left on it.
exactly, dude making so many excuses to get the Ford Maverick
Caleb, are you aware of EV incentives that bring the cost of ownership of entry level EVs (like Tesla Model 3 RWD and whenever GM brings out their Bolt replacement) over 8 years (basically the warranty period for the battery) to around the same as a 20k gas car upon initial purchase (which might be around 30-35k over the course of 8 years with maintenance, repairs and gas costs)?
Caleb, have you ever thought about doing a video where you audit your self?
I didn’t think I’d take cooking at home for granted until this video-take out is so, so expensive and adds up without mercy.
XRP AND HBAR will do really well in long term.

what's even worse is if he still held it he would most likely be back or will soon be back to where he was.
Cant fix stupid, never invest in anything your not willing to lose, I invested 100% of my money in real estate, my inheritance etc… in property in 2005. Lost EVERYTHING in 2009. 😭😭😭
But yet if you held and didn’t sell you’d be up right now
You lost because you sold when you were down
@@davea3889 well also in 2009 went through divorce of ( 26 years) guess who got the house? Wasn’t me. And I had to pay alimony, and my daughters car payment, and property tax on home etc…. And I had to pay my rent and food for myself. Credit card maxed out. I was sinking fast! Absolute nightmare 2009-2010. 😭😭
a 20k second hand car at 25? What justify wasting so much money when you are in dept?
One way to be able to really save is to drive a paid for car
Keep up the routine maintenance
Drive it until the wheels fall off
Only keep minimum coverage insurance with decent liability coverages
Stay away from the exorbitant new car prices and sky insurances
A maverick I grant you in one of the most reasonably priced new vehicles offeeed for the utility offered.
It would be refreshing to get someone one here that is not a complete mess LOL
150k Honda?! Your just breaking it in. Replace the AC pump and tint the windows.
Hey Caleb. Nice breakdown and advices. Just an observation. I’m surprised you didn’t advice him to get I-Bond especially at it’s crazy 9.7% interest rate right now. Outperforming the market and it’s as safe as can be.
One of the most important things is to tether growing assets up in time
This guy's employer's 401k match went from 8 percent, to 10, then to 6..it sounds like he's just spitting out a lot of this to sound somewhat competent.
Nice guy. Great rep for PA people 😀.
Hey Caleb since our financial audit on SEPT 7, I have not listened to anything you said to be honest. HOWEVER I am back up to 2k cash 24 APPL SHARES, 4K ROTH 401k. I stopped gambling and that’s about it. Almost at 50% of my ATH :) I will be buying a financial audit soon for 6 months out from now

@@ianlittle1653 it was a private one homie I even asked if it was pre recorded. I told him I would be fine with posting, but the way it was structured was not setup like this nor does he record those. He was mainly a banker that you would sit down with when going into your local credit union or bank.
He’s super awesome and compassionate in his private interviews if you ever want one I would 10/10 recommend it
The good thing is that he is 25 and has time to turn things around
2006 civic is not a crap box car lol. Newer than mine is!
This ia an style of interviewee that needs a cross over episode with a Car youtuber.
1. Can he get his car fixed up and serviced in a sensible budget?
2. What kind of car can he get within his budget, along with costs and insurance.
Guy is verbally high-speed back pedaling so fast. I am sweating just listening to him.
Would you advise him to dump $3500 into crypto now? Fallacy of not selling things you already own... It's not like there's sentimental value in random shitcoins.
My Toyota has 324,000 miles on it. His Honda is not even broken in yet.😅
