  • In this Video you will find a "Solution" to the Discord Screenshare Audio proplem with Linux.
"Solution" is in quotation marks because this isn´t a permanent solution (because you have to do this every time you open a screenshare), however it is a solution that works.

You are a lifesaver, this took way to long to figure out
Knowing the problem you can as a more "permanent" solution use pavucontrol to assign the second chromium input as the vencord-screen-share.
That will at least survive a restart and save a bit of config everytime you wanna stream anything + if you only have a mono mic it will up the output to stereo

Im glad this helped you. If pavucontrol also works with pipewire, then it is something thats worth trying out.

Holy shit, thanks a lot. No other solutions like piping through the mic have been worked for me, and it was the only reason I've been staying on win for a time. Kudos for this simple solution

pro tip: if you are trying to stream any gpu intensive or just intensive task in general like a game, limit the framerate of the game 10 or 20 frames or so. otherwise the stream will have ultra low fps and look like minecraft painting. I have been trying to use linux for 6 years. and one of the biggest struggles has always been discord screen sharing. although this is not the best app for it that I have discovered thanks to you no other discord client works for me I am so happy this works I have been practically struggling for years. although this is not perfect and slices a lot of frames to stream games it is still very usable.

Yeah I know this isn't the best solution but at least it works somewhat. Thanks for your comment :)

It could be that you havent installed pipewire correctly. I have no idea otherwise.

@@henny6932 you should make a video on how to install pipewire on linux mint. since linux mint uses pulseaudio by default.
