Rag curls are centuries old. I've used them my whole life! I have straight hair so I use a setting lotion but it's a great way to get perfect curls without any damage...guaranteed to work every time!
@@lifestylebytaya people are starting to find out that the old ways work better than all the newfangled appliances that are supposed to help you achieve the same goal. My profile picture is just after I cut 36in of hair off because it got wrapped around my sissy bar on the highway. I have always had hair at least 5 feet long and, it's in extremely good condition because I don't put a bunch of junk on it. I don't use heat on it, I use shea butter and coconut oil to oil my hair which is something white chicks never learn about... Oiling your hair is much more beneficial than just using a commercial conditioner. You can create different looks with the rags as well. If you take very thin pieces and curl them under at the forehead like you would for bangs, you'll end up with adorable little curls that Fringe the top part of your face or, you can pin up areas and make it look much thicker once it's curled.
I have very long wavy hair and my mother used to do these kind of curls on my hair and my sister's hair when we were growing up, sometimes she would also use strips of brown paper bag
So rag curls are beautiful and have been around for so so long. I did them on my foster sister a longtime ago she has type 3C hair so not quite as tight as yours. The products you used worked so nice on your hair. My only 2 recommendations for naturally curly hair (I think you did one) is use something like silk (satin is ok but silk is better) and use endge control on your ends to help prevent frizz. You did amazing though honestly ignore my advice you killed it!!!!😍😍😍
Oh, you forgot to link to the original video. Here you go: ruclips.net/video/7tudASPjtng/видео.html This is the video that Viv HairTherapy’s was following when she did her routine.
That came out BEAUTIFULLY!! A pretty style on a pretty lady. I saw the same video as you and was glad to see someone else using this technique. As a grandmother with ultra straight hair, this might be a cute style for my granddaughter.
@@WiseAilbhean Hey! Its called Ankara it is a fabric we use mainly as clothing for fashion. I believe you can order them on amazon. Personally I feel it dries faster bc its really light weight. My hair was dry in no time which is rare normally my hair takes 2-3 days in a braid out.
LifestylebyTaya Awesome! Thank you so much! Btw way, thank you for showing us your results. I too saw the Viv hair therapy video and it blew my mind. I’ve been natural for the past couple years and still struggling to find a way to style it. Ppl forget the hardest part of the transition is learning to style a texture I forgot about.
That looks so cute! I love how the curls give your hair a lot of motion and swing! I did mine different since my hair is super straight, but I might want to try this method with more hair to make chunkier curls.
@@lifestylebytaya the rag curls turned out amazing! My husband loves them, his grandmother adores them and even took a picture of them to show off! Thank you again for posting this video and God bless you 🙏
Thank you. As for the dryer you can. I personally love the fact that bc the rags are cloth it's so easy to sleep on them it feels like practically nothing is on your hair. Unlike perm/flexi rods. That's why this method is great they dry so fast no real need for additional heat.
Brad Mondo showed your video of you doing your hair in bobby pins and was floored at how beautiful it was. ruclips.net/video/3L-8WIa7y0I/видео.html You have amazing patience!

@@deannacrownover3 I will savour this advice, thank you.
@@lifestylebytaya what cloth are you using to wrap it around your hair what can I use
Wow!!! Beautiful!!! Looks like an easy way to start locs as well
Yes! Definitely has a loc Vibe and feel going on.
I was thinking the same thing
they look super similar to locs but i dont think the curl is tight enough to remain in position long enough for the hair to loc!
I love rag curls i'm a lazy 4c so.... And the rags on is still a great protective style you can keep it under your wig before wearing the curls out
😊
🤯👏🏼
🤯
How did you get it to work for your 4c hair? Mine didn't work.
THOSE RESULTS ARE LEGIT! I watched Viv's video and you came up on my feed. Legit love the look and am tempted to try for myself
I have very long wavy hair and my mother used to do these kind of curls on my hair and my sister's hair when we were growing up, sometimes she would also use strips of brown paper bag
They look so neat and clean/crisp...damn
Right!? They surprised me too. Thanks! 😊
this is so amazing. I think it looks great before and after you separated the curls.

I am a 2b texture and have used rag curls since childhood. Always a great option for heatless damage free curls.
Girl!!! It looks soooo good!! That hairstyle totally suits you 💕

What is the name on the fabric you use? I’ve been having trouble find one that allows more air circulation.

Thanks! Yes, I love color on my hair☺️
Boy oh boy! I sure have a lot more respect for women with very curly hair!
What is great about the rags, is you can easily wash and dry them. And they are easily replaced or more added.

Love this look it can pass for interlocks
How did you preserve this at night?
I normally just put a Satan bonnet on before I sleep. Also check out how I refresh them ruclips.net/video/jX_uJ7VFfRA/видео.html . Hope this helps ☺
It’s basically a twist out except with 2 sections it’s one with a rag
Rag Curls look great on you , my grandmother also would curl her hair the same way .
You are soooooo pretty!
Thank you! 😊
You look adorable!
your hair looks beautifuL!!!
Thank you! 😄
Please can I use gel or not ?
You can but the curls may come out crunchy if you use to much. I tend to sick to foams/mousse when I do rod & curls sets.
