OMG you gotta do "Lane Boy" next! It's about their music style and how the music entertainment industry wants them to stay in their lane. It's also a completely different sound, check it out.
Nice, this one is deep and introduces the little guy Ned, who is supposed to represent Tyler's creativity.
The short summary is the following:
Tyler of TOP relates the songwriting process to chlorine. In small doses it cleans his soul but too much and it can be harmful, destructive to his mental state and life balance. Once his creativity (Ned) is ready to jump in the pool and "finish the song" his creativity grows - note the horns Ned grows while swimming - but it is short lived and once the energy is spent and the pool is drained no one wants even a sip of chlorine. The cycle has to start all over again with filling the pool *all the way up* before Tyler is satisfied and will release the song.
A few earlier songs that will be great to check out are 'Holding on to You' (music video or Blurryface live version) and 'Trees' (Blurryface live). After that it may be a good point to start checking out the Trench trilogy picking up from the end of Heavydirtysoul.

I think it has to do with him and his struggle with depression and anxiety. Heard he may have to take lithium and I believe that is what this song is about. He talks about hating it but loving it as well. I may be wrong. Just putting it out there.

Yo I just wanted to say I’ve been listening to them for years like 6 ever since I was like 9. And there music fr helped me go through so much. Losing loved ones friends, there music is fr life changing and I hope u really get into them as much as I did. Def listen to there older stuff to, but lane boy, jumpsuit, ride, goner live, trees live, holding onto you is such a good one, guns for hands, fairly local, choker, if u want to get into his own stuff he made when he was younger without being in the band he had a solo album called no Phun intended, drown is a good one off that. But I love seeing these it fr makes my day watching u react to anyone I love u

Other good songs are lane boy, kitchen sink, fairly local, tear in my heart, Saturday, outside, shy away, my blood, no chances. I could keep going but I can't remember which ones you have seen already lol
Chlorine is used as a metaphor for their music making process - "this beat is a chemical", etc - just like Chlorine, music for Tyler is cleansing in the correct dose, but if it becomes too much then it becomes toxic - "my body lives on lead" - the lead of the pencil he's writing with - "the lead is terrible in flavor, but now you double as a papermaker" - "i despise you sometimes, but i love to hate the fight" - all referring to how music helps him through things, but it can become overwhelming and toxic just as those chemicals can
the thing you're missing is that in between Blurryface and Trench they basically just shut everything down for a year and went on a hiatus - so when he's saying "when i leave don't save my seat, i'll be back when it's all complete" he's referring to that - "the moment is medical" meaning they needed that time away to recover - they had just went from more of an unknown group to now worldwide fame and success after Stressed Out, Ride, and Heathens all hit within a year
lastly, the little guy is Ned - he basically represents their creativity so they are trying to please him and get him to jump into the pool - and he will only do that when he thinks the song is good enough - this was the intro to him, but he does show up in future videos and is for sure a fan favorite - at the end the pool is empty again and Tyler just has the little cup of chlorine to show Ned and you can see he's not impressed with it
