Fair do’s mate that was brilliant. I was always a fan of Fleetwood Mac ( the early line up ) when they were a blues band. Greenie will be up there smiling & nodding. 👍👍
Not to forget the contribution of Danny Kirwan, for example "Albatross" & both together with the right title: "WORLD IN HARMONY"!❤ For both:Rip in heaven!
Each time I listen to this cover, I hear more. Thanks for the exquisite rendition. It's such a fine peirce of music, and you bring out every nuance with your fine playing. A song this good, played with such sensitivity and skill, is a very rare thing.
If you haven't heard 'The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation ' from the same era check em out ! A Great forgotten/unknown band It's a damn shame but they never got the breaks or the recognition!!!...
@gjrobinson8072 hope you enjoy their music Another great one you might not know is 'Supersession' from 1968 Al Kooper, Mike Broomfield and Steven Stills Great keyboard and guitars and horns Incredible funky swinging blues!
This is an outstanding acoustic guitar arrangement of one of the finest, most intimate songs ever written. Thanks for sharing it. I play Man of the World myself but not like this, especially with the self contained solo, which is delicate and sublime. Is this entirely your arrangement? If so I'm highly impressed, and love some of the chord inversions you used. It sounds as though Peter used similar, if not the same.
Hi Maxwell, thanks for this, feedback means a lot. It's one of the songs that made me learn the guitar, I had a Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac CD a long time ago and spent many, many hours figuring it out and playing versions of it. Came up with this after I got into fingerstyle a few years ago, basically just putting all the bits together that I'd been playing for years, so I guess it's my arrangement (if you can ever call covering someone else's song 'my arrangement', bit of an insult to Peter me claiming anything of his genius!). Thanks again. Planning on giving Albatross a record soon if I can finish a version that works right without upsetting the guitar gods.
@@gjrobinson8072 I know what you mean. I also go painstakingly from bar to bar on an acoustic with a song I really want to learn, takes time but always worth it in the end. Last year I finally achieved this with "Classical Gas" (Mason Williams), an instrumental on classical guitar I was particularly fond of since its release in the 1960's. So never too old to learn. I now play it slightly differently using "hybrid" picking (flat pick and fingers) so I can make it loud enough on a steel strung acoustic in a pub, but keeping fairly close to the original. Ditto Peter's "Oh Well" part 1. Maybe I will get round to Part 2 some day. Look forward to your arrangement of "Albert - Ross", as Greeny used to call it! I wouldn't worry about upsetting the Guitar Gods, many of them mince it up rotten which I know Peter hated hearing.
Took three AirAsia flights recently. On every flight, they played annoying Boom-Boom-Boom crap during loading and unloading. It was cringe worthy. Why not some wonderful piece like Man of the World or Albatross?
I am an avid skier and have had a habit for the past year. Upon returning to my car at the end of the day, I wind down with Albatross on a repeated 30 minute loop!
@@Jreb1865They have no clue what music sounds like, and furthermore can't recognize good music when they hear it. Thanks to UTube, my vinal collection, Spotify etc. we can hear the good stuff any time.
Please be more truthful. This is not Man of the World as such. It is an instrumental version of the song. There are none of the wonderful lyrics. It is well done , however, and very beautiful.
Beautiful, I really loved this. Not an easy song to do justice to either. The original is one of the most moving pieces of music I’ve ever heard.
A Heartbreakingly Beautiful Insight into Peter Green’s Sadness….
Brilliant, I need to learn this properly. Such a beautiful track. They just dont make songs that matter like this anymore for the radio.
Thanks. I reckon Peter Green's original is the most beautiful song ever made
My band here in Thailand plays this song. Have been for 4+ years. We also do "Albatross" and "Dragonfly".
That was lovely. One my favourite Fleetwood Mac tracks.
Thanks Walter. One of mine too. Not just Fleetwood Mac, one of my favourite tracks full stop.
@@gjrobinson8072 I agree it is one of my favourites. I play it but you play much better than me😪

Thanks Jim. Same here, not as keen on the later stuff without Peter, doing pop music. Still some good tunes but the early stuff is unbelievable music.

Well said Alan. Will get to a point where people only recognise proper songs from TV adverts.
It's because those that don't know any better force music for the masses on us. They think we don't actually know what good music should sound like...
