I would choose for the Aston Martin factory to do the job, factory finish and a great story
Not sure the factory can do that but AM works at Newport Pagnell could do it
Especially with that special Valkyrie tech based paint. Not sure if a "normal" body shop could recreate that paint.
@@DSM2094 the thing is, I’m pretty sure Aston will not respray used cars at their factory.
@@proffesionalretard Yeah definitely, Like you said AM works would be fine. I just think it needs to be a work shop backed by Aston Martin to get that special paint
@@proffesionalretard they may not do it but for sure it can go to Aston Martin Works to carry out the job and have it signed and backed by Aston. A chance for another great collarabaration and chance to create a great story once again.
I would ask Aston Martin Works to collaborate, it would be a guarantee to the job and the value of the car
and ask them to grant you special V.I.P access to bring in the cameras to film and document the process. Afterwards it would be great if you arranged to have it trucked on an enclosed sem-i to NVN London for paint protection film to not let the paint get attacked by stone chips and the like if it were driven on the road
Fully agree
Everyone in the comments it's saying go silver, which you could just go buy. The green would be amazing and it would your own which I think is the Key. like Smhe and his GT ;). toned down bronze grille, vents and tips, bronze calipers on black wheels it'd be perfect.
Not black wheels please !
@@cheesepizza87 Black wheels YES! Bronze wheels would be too much, silver wheels would clash with bronze, so black it is.
I agree the silver wheels wouldn’t work but I’d go grey wheels with bronze callipers. Black wheels don’t work on a car like that. They suit aggressive show off cars (AMG, BMW, Lambo etc) not smooth sleek 10 year old GT cars. A nice gunmetal grey however 🤷🏼♂️
@@jwordsworth215 I can totally agree with that. Gunmetal would be killer. @Mr.JWW there you go, we got your so sorted.
It’s an Aston Martin, less is more, I’d go easy on the bronze!
This is gonna look great.
I do like the sound of yours though! I had to rewind your video and listen to it over and over again!
All bronze and get AM Works to do it. Great idea dude!
I would probably paint it green and leave everything else. I think that would look phenomenal.
Would love to see the green paint on the DBS, the bronze however...Would be too much in my opinion.
Is it just me or did that Ford GT look like Shmee’s GT?? 🤔🧐
Probably why it was covered.
@@lesleydainton3140 Probably to not piss off Topaz🙈
Pls do the bronze finishes on everything chrome
Except the wheels, don't make a green Impreza
Are you 12
Chill
I’d test the extent to which any bronze is used on a configurator first, if you can set one up.
Not sure doing the wheels is a good idea 👍🏻
First off, all those who suggest using the Works at Newport Pagnell - bang on. Second - The green is OK but when the car was new they also offered an Infra Red colour. That looks awesome. If you are going down your green/bronze route, think about the dark tan interior leather and detailing in that one off special you drove - the Q branch at the Works will make your dream come true. Finally, the later DBS cars had a 5 x 2 spoke diamond cut wheel that would work well. But please don’t end up with something tacky.
Get Aston Martin Works to do it and ask them to grant you special V.I.P access to bring in the cameras to film and document the process. Afterwards it would be great if you arranged to have it trucked on an enclosed sem-i to NVN London for paint protection film to not let the paint get attacked by stone chips and the like if it were driven on the road
Ask Aston special works to do it and have the lineage. But I would say go steady on the bronze, sometimes less is more just have it in the right areas and subtle.
But it depends on if your holding onto it for long, either way enjoy.😀
Go for the green! As for the wheels, leave them as they are and see the result. Can always spray them gold later
Personally, I think the bronze side strakes would look amazing, but I think the bonnet vents would look better in gloss black
The 12C is by far my favorite McLaren, but the good old Aston Martins and their sound ... eargasm every time
12c even after the recent cars ?
Personally I'd go Quantum Silver or Casino royale and have Aston Martin Works replicate the interior from Casino Royale.
But that's just my fantasy as I'll never be able to own a DBS so just ignore me
100% go green and do the full proper job of it. Engine out, glass out, interior out. Full paint job. Full redo of all metal trim to go bronze. New interior in the same colour as the DBX interior. It will cost as much as a new car but it will be a 1 of 1 that you can give to your kids someday!!!
I would make the wheels green too bronze calipers, or green with a bronze diamond cut. Black and silver wheels are so standard. All the rest of the parts you already figured out... lots of joy with this perfect project car. Revamp the engine too while you're at it...
Well dear JWW, I'm not sure if your DBS is a carbon black edition, but if it is, with all the respect don't even think about this "green idea". Keep the carbon black edition as it is - super rare - and just buy another dbs of any color, and yes just change it! 💯. Even cheaper to go with an automatic and you'll have both wonderful DBS cars for diferente days and driving experiences. It's a completely inexpensive project compared with buying a brand new vantage and you'll be proud of owning a carbon black edition.
What a fantastic idea James, I’d say definitely get Aston Martin involved - I’m sure there are specialist out there such as Chartwells but you can’t be factory work, and probably the only chance you’d have to get the badge I really hope this happens would make awesome content for the channel and perhaps highlight what Aston Martin can do for treasured vehicles
The DB11 in Green with the Bronze wheels & mesh etc
In manual wow 😮
Don’t spray the Vanquish. Once dissambled, you fitment and buildquality will never be the same as off the Factory.
Vanquish shape is timeless, so is the black over silver combination. Just use and preserve this beauty. Sometimes less is more.
Yes go green. Black interior with bronze stitching and accents. But for the wheels I wanna give you a challenge mate. Let's see if you can get a whole new wheel style developed specifically to show off a bronze finish. I know I'm practically trying to flip the Chanel Cs here but hey, you can always get wheels from another model as well. These wheels look best in silver...and only silver...that's why my suggestion
Do mechanical changes over aesthetics, make it a beast, approach Cosworth and get them to take out the cylinder liners as they did with that engine to begin to create a DBS esque One 77 drivetrain with a manual gearbox...you will never use 1st again and will need a new clutch alternate years... but please do something that petrol heads are interested in not vanity changes
Both perhaps? 😜
There is a company in The Netherlands that is specialised in this kind of respray request. They do all kinds of jobs even for Disney. They have paints that can transform plastic parts into metal looking which is probably what you want with the chrome parts. Maybe you know them from Novitec because they install a lot of kits for them that go to London.
That DBS in Lennox green…SPECTACULAR. Can’t wait to see that process evolve. Love the idea of using the bronze. I think I’d just accent them wheels it. And the vents, but keep it a little subtle. Make it a detail that really pops when you’re standing next to it. Best of luck with it!
If you’re interested i could make a photoshop render of the DBS with the different options in bronze to see what you like.
Cannot wait for the 2023 DBS
Tried getting the colour as close as possible on Horizon 4, put it on the DBS and it looks amazing. can't wait to see it done but i honestly don't think the engine needs to be removed.
The DBS would look unreal in the green but i wouldnt go crazy with the bronze touches personally. I'd like for like copy the colour coding from the DBX onto the DBS, grilles and hardware in black with bronze accents and touches, even the badges if Aston will let you.
How awesome would it be if Aston got involved and did this!?!?
why are your latest uploads keep getting deleted
you might be able to pull it off, I don't think that Aston Martin would give just anyone the color formula to just anyone but you have the right connection
A Valkyrie Lennox Green DBS!! that would look mega!! there are way too many Black cars out there, and a pitiful few cars in Green, and that particular shade would look fantastic on an Aston, please dont lose those particular wheels, i think they look timelessly classic and would look great in a contrast finish, Gun Metal/Graphite Grey maybe? the bronze could look like overkill?
DO IT!! It would look awesome.
Definitely go for green, James! Might go for green calipers too, if you’re aiming for bronze wheels. If bronze wheels are too much, I bet slightly darker silver/gray wheels with bronze calipers will look phenomenal. Can’t wait to see the result!
If you could leave the black leather on the interior and just add a green contrast stitch to match the exterior paint, that might be cool.
Not sure about the bronze... but big yes on british racing green... the only thing your missing is the clear interior.
Go for it James, but keep it period-correct. In that case, please, please leave the accessories in the original silver/chrome finish and restore the grill to its original finish as well. A gorgeous period-correct blue-green AM Grand Tourer. Silver goes super well with green anyway
The color is one-off, the bronze accents will be more than beautiful, but please make the wheels black or leave it chrome
Gold wheels looks like a Impreza STI, but I maybe wrong
Problem will be having them look like part of the project. I'd suggest new wheels to work with the paint
i love how James acts like it's a painful surprise when his tech tells him "we're beyond that".. clutch piece of acting there. ;-D
All chrome / bright work bronze. Calipers bronze. Wheels diamond cut style black with the bronze front edge etc. Would be ace.
Not sure I'd go with the bronze personally, but the green looks lovely. I would probably change the wheels to the updated versions in a gloss gunmetal which would give a real richness to the green.
I'd probably go for an anthracite on the chrome parts - I have the platinum accent pack on my Vantage and it looks really good.
Agree on the MP4-12C. Still one of the most underrated super cars ever
Shmee150's Ford Gt at 11:39 ? would be odd if it was there, since shmee is loyal ( i think ) to Topaz detailing
Not enough to tell
Probably not as it’s been in all the recent Shmuseum videos.
@@PixelVogue i thought it was Tims car. Hes got a loyalty to topaz detailing. Yianni asked Tim to wrap his porsche gt4 with the exact same wrapping film toaz used same quality everything but less money Tim refused. Tim is the only youtuber in the uk whos never been to yiannimize i mean sam paul james anishvin tge archie emma and more but never Tim.
I also thought the same, but i noticed that the GT in the video has gloss carbon fibre. While Tim's has matte carbon. So i don't think it's his.
Go for itttt!!!!! That paint on dbs😍 Please take us along with the journey
Wow, the DBS in that green would look amazing. I have a suggestion that not many people are saying. On astons, sometimes less is more. If I was to spec it I would put the dbs carbon edition diamond cut wheels on the car. it would just look stunning!
You know what you be awesome. the Green front fading to the original black
Id keep it classy, exterior and engine bay painted in that amazing color with walnut tan interior.
Do it all. Going to look epic with all those details. Cheers!
I am just a working man who would never be Able to Afford Aston Martin but I would love to see you paint the dbs in the green and with the brass Pieces I think it would look out of this world go for it sir 👍
Green (darker shades like forest or BRG vs kelly or lime) and antiqued bronze look fantastic together.
I wish Aston would do the work. That would be a fantastic story. Please Aston, let him do it.
and ask them to grant you special V.I.P access to bring in the cameras to film and document the process. Afterwards it would be great if you arranged to have it trucked on an enclosed sem-i to NVN London for paint protection film to not let the paint get attacked by stone chips and the like if it were driven on the road
Next step : LED headlamps with the modules of the recent Astons and rear with a clean and thin light guide. A bit « restomod-ish », but this would make it a proper timeless piece of design!
Love that DBX spec. Wanted to get my Botanical Green Jaguar XKR done with the bronze accents as a homage to your spec but struggled to get someone to do it. Ended up getting the wheels done in what is described as gloss metallic black but is more like a dark gloss Anthracite with a bronze flake. Nice.
I was a little surprised by the color of that Ford GT...that's all I have to say about that...The Lenox Green on the DBS will be bee yoo tee full....definitely render it before you go all in...and the 599's are epic...it looks like the Aperta was sitting much higher in this video...awesome video...good luck with all your plans!
Green 100%! But no bronze wheels. More bronze details, and bronze calipers, but black wheels or keep it classy with silver wheels and silver window / roof line.
I love the DBS so much. One of the best looking cars ever, there's simply not a bad angle. Whatever colour it goes it will still look good.
The 12C as well. That car has aged and continues to age so well. I think it looks great and so much better than the 650S. With that unique early McLaren front end style it will always be slightly different to all other McLaren's that share a similar front end look. I personally think they'll be very sought after and valuable soon (if not already).
The green on the dbs is perfect but keep al the chrome chrome please
James, What happened to your Hybrid Bentley Benteyga video ?
That will become the best looking car of all time. Go all bronze James! Amazing
You should look into absolute motors in the netherlands. They can do anything
Mr JWW video’s should come with a warning like gambling sites do, I watched his vlogs specially the Aston Martin DBS heritage video that kind of got me hooked.
So 2 years or so later with help from Charles & Dean finance and Aston Martin Belfast I have a quantum silver DBS manual in my garage.
I’d personally leave the car as it is have it ceramic coated its a used car shows its honest age. Mine has road rash an a little bubble near handle but till a little later am keeping it as it is
That green would be amazing to see. Keep up the good work.
I would go more subtle with the Aston. Green body and gray/silver accents, like the wheels on the scuderia.
I really enjoy the diversity of the settings on this channel James. You never know where you’re going to be or what you’re up to. Cracking contender mate.
Do it. The bronze would be the finishing touch. True one of one.
Am I really the only one who prefers the DBS to stay black? They are already so few in manual...
James, IF you must paint it in this (admittedly beautiful) green then get the badge in bronze, the rest (wheels, vents, etc) in black. Please do NOT overdo it. Astons, especially the DBS, are about elegance, understatements, class. Less is more, please remember this!
How extraordinary. I have just decided to respray my manual DBS green. Probably going for Almond Green. Clearly the F1 influence is working in the background…
body in green, wheels grill and trim in that dull grey from the dbx, brake calipers in bronze and perhaps the logo in bronze like your dbx. Done
I would approach Aston Martin for a collaboration on the project get Aston Martin Works to carry out the work and ask them to grant you special V.I.P access to bring in the cameras to film and document the process. Afterwards it would be great if you arranged to have it trucked on an enclosed sem-i to NVN London for paint protection film to not let the paint get attacked by stone chips and the like if it were driven on the road
what happened to your last 2 video they were great why did they got deleted
DBS will look totally better in that green!;)
The Black GTO for me thank you. What a machine.
If you’re gonna paint it that color you gotta match all the metal in that bronze like the wheels and trim
That would just look frikkin awesome James and a one off .....oh and manual
I agree with bronze finishes and Lennox green but struggle to find the best wheel combo with that
Matt silver finish or black finish or black on bronze diamond cut finish it could look too busy it has to be subtle and simple but yet great combination of bronze and green not too much of bronze but enough of it what do you guys think
It will be an enjoyable challenge I look forward to taking you along for the journey on!
You have to do it. Green and bronze AM would be perfection.
Do it and get the bronze but get Aston Martin NP to do it to protect the cars value.
The colour on the 12C is absolutely on FIRE....
500 miles on that 599 GTO and so many imperfections in the paint? Jeez, that garage life is tough!
I like the idea of changing the colour to the DBX's green. The then challenge is getting Aston's permission to put the same bronze badge on it... Have fun James
Aston works should do it!!!
and ask them to grant you special V.I.P access to bring in the cameras to film and document the process. Love the green on the DBX, however, for the sake of variety, I thought the Valkyrie test car, when you were at the track, and the samples of red Valkyrie tech paint when you did the customer specification video was absolutely stunning. The red and green side by side with the matching accent bronze would be different class but keep the individual statement of each platform.
Whatever you decide you should definitely see if you could get a promo deal on some PPF! 😂
The bronze is complememtary color. Be careful not to use too much of it, because then it looses the point and becomes just that....too much.
I wonder if the wheels would be too much, maybe gunmetal with bronze accents? Need to test….
Black or dark satin wheels with the bronze calipers
Can't help feeling that many RUclipsrs are finding it harder to create original material so have to invent strange content. Not often, though, does self indulgence reach such a level.
Looking at this video, now and your most recent video on the Aston, who would have thought it was a lemon 🍋 with all that damage under the skin ?
Back in the '90's, I had this idea of opening a boutique that used early production software the pre-dated Photoshop to help car owners pick colors and accessories for their cars. I suppose I should be thankful I didn't invest the money into a business that would become obsolete in just a few years. However, it certainly would have helped you with this project.
Madness, it looks fabulous in black. What the hell are you thinking?
Running out of things to spend money on?
Respray in black. Perhaps BMW CarbonSchwarz?
Now THAT would look killer.
The green DBX color...meh.
Green YES, bronze NO. You will always have your chrome windowtrim that will contrast with the bronze.
noice collection !! so is that your collection ? or someone elses collection !! that would be the dream collection for me !! all those cars in the same garage space !!
Would you consider changing the interior to a different color? Maybe something that appeals to the bronze color in the Aston Martin brand ?!
Skilled. Talented. Enthusiastic. Great film.
Help me out RUclips: the song at 0:52, reminds me of a classic 70s rock song, used in films a lot? But which song?
Brilliant!

no no no, dont go overboard on the bronze it would be too much. its got to be a balance with a 3rd tone!
Im old school and love it in black
