Honestly this channel set the bar too high for the movie. I learn so much about the context of the music from the interviews on this channel. Yall should do an in depth documentary on Midnite. As a Black American I coulda told yall Hollywood will never do our greats justice. Just be happy Bob Marley wasn't played by Brad Pitt.

A biopic is not a documentary. There is a Marley documentary by Kevin McDonald.

A biopic is supposed to be a more complete story of one's life, not just about one album, basically. This was a wasted opportunity, that is it 🤷🏽‍♂️

The details of his religious convictions in a deep and explanation way is for documentaries. This is a movie. It's about the musical influence. The secular world doesn't know Bob by his convictions. I thought the mere mention of his beliefs and people involved were plenty for a Western movie in 2024.

I've re edited the film to give it more of a better storyline. The original was alright but I wasn't a fan of the flash back sequences i felt it was placed randomly and didn't help the story at all. In my version I put all of the flash back sequences in chronological order so the film can flow better. I also included the deleted scenes that wasn't featured in the original film and also some stock footage from you tube and various documentaries such as 60 minutes, Heartland Reggae, Caribbean Nights, Time Will Tell, Spiritual Journey, Catch a Fire, Who Shot The Sheriff, Roots Daughters, Legacy and a clip from HBO's Vinyl.

I guess it's easy to criticise when you don't have the financial means to make a movie 😳. One cannot include everything, plus the Marley family gave it's blessing and involved. It's up to us to do further research into the subject. Good discussion 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I didn’t see the movie yet but as far as the Barrett brothers, they created and laid the foundation of reggae. Bass and drums. Fams is the standard for all of us who play bass

I saw it twice as well. I was 15yrs when I heard of Bob passing. I was looking for a movie as soon as I learned about Bob Marley's works...I've read many books and seen many documentaries. Bob changed my personal outlook and in look. A good movie, it could've been Great and hopefully this ioens the gate for more Rasta content, Wailers content, Reggae in general !

The actors did their roles well, but it missed his essence. Maybe because there was no character development? I don’t know, but they showed clips of Bob at the end and I felt more from those few clips than the whole movie.

It was a pretty good movie, you can't expect Bob Marley's entire life story in just one movie. There will be other movies or documentary films about Bob's life in the future. His story will be told forever.

The movie is over and I hope they don’t listen to any of the complaints!!!! My jamerican kids learned enough to get an over standing of who Bob Marley was! I myself have since watched several videos and interviews enlightening me about things I never even knew! So just stop it! There were some white folks in the theater who got the message with no problem. They even knew who the man on the horse was .

I will always support my black people. It takes a lot of work and money behind the scenes that most of us dont understand. Rasta on the Big Screen 🎉😍 I loved. It was a love story not Biopic. But this opens the doors to a Bob Marley Series. Nothing can be perfect. We have to support so we can get more production. FYI I have seen it twice. I enjoyed it❤

A series after a biopic? How would you think that would do....plus would Kingsley also be the actor? Or if you put skip marley in now what would then happen.....so it's either you go all in or you would just be wasting time

The story was NOT about Rastafari... it was about Bob Marley... who hug-up Rasta. Let Rastafari do their research and build up their belief structures... as usual with so many Rasta brothers they want the world to do their job... No sah! As the Dread seh... other expansive stories can follow.

The bald head is an antagonist. Autarchii aka The Dread is so full of optimism and spoke greatly. Dejazmatch Kwasi spoke of the torch being lit and now the Jamaican people have to fund dem own a ting. I agree. Optimism and not pessimism. It is not an easy road but instead of being antagonizing and complaining, do something. The critics spent movie ticket money to see the movie, them never put any money towards the movie it self. Calm down

Yes I felt the movie was not well developed and left a lot of known history out to reshape history. Just my observance, I don’t feel it did justice to Bob’s legacy, however I still enjoyed it. Because I trodded Rastafari, I understood what was happening, however a layman could be left confused on what was happening. The Dread was not hearing it. 😂

But look how much people use reggae music and one love message all over the world, Autarchii why we don’t have a budget to make our story, Bob story bc Bob is all our father remember that part. It’s just plain disrespect towards even our new history much less our ancient history. We as black people always having anything good that has to do with us diluted soooooo much 😢. And we keep giving reason for it to be ok it’s just sad brother!

Bwoy... the brother Kwasi wants to tell the family how they should treat their fathers legacy... Rastafari is secondary to the life of the man himself... from the children's perspective... If Kwasi want to promote Rastafari then go build the next movie yourself bro, and stop crystallising your own expectations on others

While you are at it you should also get the lists of all the other folks who knew Bob and all the important folks who made his life a success! Include all the children’s mom as well. Let’s see how you can do this expeditiously!!!!
