Model Railway Points/Turnout Servo Motor Installation

- This video shows how I go about installing R/C style servos as model railway points motors using inexpensive and readily available parts.
The simplest method I find is to use a piece of aluminium channel (15x15x15mm) as this provides a good tight fit for servos. If your servo is loose, then squeeze the channel (with the servo removed) for a good tight fit.
The aluminium channel should be cut to 5 cm and have a 2mm hole drilled in each end to mount on the baseboard. On one end drill a 1mm hole about 6 mm from one of the 2mm holes to provide a fulcrum.
Using a 5cm length of 1mm piano wire, I create a ‘Z’ in one end and feed into the servo horn.
The baseboard is drilled to 5mm and the fulcrum hole on the aluminium channel positioned over its centre.
