I tell you what, my Grandma was one of the original Buergher daughters of Ceylon, they're actually been acredited to inventing the original Blue Lagoon crab CURRY!! My Grandma would spoil me back in the '80's when I visited there alot. The food was and is the best in the world, it's a busy eating life for Sri Lankans...!!!.......
We ate at the Ministry of Crab about five years ago. It was a family holiday, probably the last one all of us will take together. There were about 15 of us. It was an incredible meal and like you said the ambience is just grand. It also combined our love of seafood and the two ex-Sri Lankan cricketers - Sangakkara and Jayawardene (they were team mates and also Brothers-in-law). Five years later, I’ve shared your video on our family WhatsApp group and the memories and the taste from that night are still so fresh. Thanks Luke

Luke: enjoyed watching your trip to Jaffna and Sri Lanka . I think you need to get your facts correct, some of your descriptions are absolutely wrong, for example, vadai(வடை) is made from உளுந்து(black gram)not from rice flour. This is from someone born and raised in Jaffna, Sri Lanka .

Love your channel. New subscriber, here. Don’t want to seem critical, but as much as you love crab, you would get the most out of your meal by breaking off the smaller pincer as it releases to entirety of the claw in one piece. There’s definitely tutorials on how to dismantle a crab. I’m from New England, and we know our way around crustaceans, so I thought I’d throw that tip out. Hope you took this as constructive criticism as shellfish is crazy expensive and I want y’all to get every succulent bit.
Luke, to answer your question, I would have ordered garlic chili (you've got to have garlic with shellfish 😋) AND curry (signature local flavor) for that delectable shellfish.
Yummm crab!! They looked amazing. Black pepper, garlic/chilli, or curry id eat them all but you know what ( call me a barbarian ) id love them just as much with a little salt/pepper and a little dip of malt vinegar, like i had as a child. The Oyster shots also made me drool😁.

That 1.7 kg crab claws can do some damage if they are not tied down. Luke I envy you eating those delicious crabs and prawns. The garlic chili was mouth watering. After that sumptuous coconut creme brûlée I know I would have needed a bed. How much was that meal? Sabrina exploded a crab joint all over the table it was funny.

You made me drool over the crab tamale, or pâté of crab liver, which is what I enjoy most in a crab. Are their products from sea water or fresh water? I notice that they did not devein the colossal prawn. How do you avoid food-borne illnesses in developing countries?
