No chance government can give PR based on protest. The integrity of the immigration system will fall apart. There are only so many spot for PR. The world is competitive, if you can’t compete or adapt, then that’s on you. Don’t ruin it for the people learning skilled trades, French, healthcare etc.

I live in Australia i came in 2007, i studied IT and then business management. But went back to india coz i was not able to apply for PR, but did not loose my hope i applied in 2014 again with all the new rules and got my PR, so do not protest that u are not eligible for PR now, you all are closing ur door on urself.

It is absolutely ridiculous for you to protest demanding Permanent Residency status from the government. Once you finish your studies, you are required to return as per the rules. Trudeau, Jagmeet, and the international students from Punjab are to be blamed for the current challenges Canada is facing. I do not see Canada recovering from this disaster zone anytime soon.

Unjustified demands by these students, if a student came here to do a diploma just after high school what skills that person will have? That Canada is obliged to give them PR? Canada has, for decades, been in the top 10 of least racist and safest countries on planet Earth. Plus prosperous. Now there is a new negative spin that most Canadians do NOT deserve to a high degree. People must look at both sides.
Since 2020, international students have been flocking to a educational system that many Canadians now feel was used by many of them as a loophole-to-immigration. Students utilizing schooling as a back-door (not front-door) ticket to living in Canada. Swarming a 50+ year tradition/system that was not not NOT designed to be about EVERY international student INSISTING on receiving Permanent Residency. Plus it was not designed to be primarily about students insisting on lengthy work permits (& spouse permits etc.). Canadians have clued in that Canada's post secondary education system has (in 5 years time) turned into what many are now jokingly calling EDUGRATION (an extreme not approved by everyday Canadians).
What about Ghost Consulting that Canada told India to halt? Canadians want the $ greedy agents in other countries to stop marketing & lying to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … in places like Canada being relatively easy (to get). And for any people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're getting greedy too. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 20% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are health, trades, highly-needed-skills).
What about all the YT videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a product? Advertising visas & permits too (all with the goal of staying in Canada). Videos not only posted hourly but also not in English or French. With very rare input from Canadian-born citizens.
Are most international students truly scholars who came to Canada with enough $ to support themselves while STUDYING? Or economic migrants, who borrowed $ to buy their way closer to the head of the immigration line? To say all the students or their consultants back home have not been at times 'gaming' Canada's education programs to gain western PR or $ is ridiculous. Students have contributed to Canada's housing CRISIS because 98% conspire-to-outstay a temporary permit. This didn't exist 5 years ago.
What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? Fraud? False asylum claims? What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by/for internationals? Home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply". Indian nationals buying local businesses then putting Indians only in key positions (while also drastically changing work practices that include working more hours for less money). Plus BC & Ontario are outlawing the Caste System.
Then throw in the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada. Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) … even though it all stems from their ancestral home. How can peace be found anywhere with this in play? Plus the Canadian government recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections, stemming from Asia continent. Canada also had to end flagpoling at the border because of international students.
In recent years, Canadians everyday are having to worry about their automobile being stolen by auto theft rings. For just one small example of what Canadians see regarding this, research; "arrests in connection with $9.24M Toronto-area auto theft ring".
Canadians are so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful. All are praying it doesn't turn into great anger. Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian Canadians MOST upset (by all of this).
Canadians are aware that some great students are going through hell. And know Canada is partially to blame which is awful. But Canada decides what needs to be done in Canada. Do you see Canadians protesting in other countries (that is not their own) making demands for themselves? No. Do Canadians now see primarily Indians protesting in Canada making demands? Yes. Protesting because they don't have the credentials to stay in Canada. And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires/demands. And why isn't there large crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino or Chinese or Mexican etc., students protesting & waving their flags? They're in Canada too.
Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Coincidence? Mills that Canada is shutting down. AND the bulk of them are near Brampton Ontario and Surrey B.C.. Coincidence?
If 36,000,000 Canadians travelled to India, since 2020, with the goal of being able to stay there permanently, that would raise India's population by 2.65%. Recent asylum seekers crossing into Canada… and especially international students... have raised Canada's population higher than 2.65%. More needing healthcare too (affecting waiting times etc.).
Did international students and their families pay into Canadian taxes ALL their lives like domestic students have (earning cheaper tuition fees)? No.
Did Canada force internationals to move to Canada as a STUDENT? No.
Did Canada promise/guarantee PR? Or a job? No & no.
Yet do they blame Canada when they can't get PR???
Canadians are now wondering; "What caused all this drama around international students to happen?". And when pondering this question they're thinking about Canada … and ONE other country.

Long read but very well stated. All those point ate true and very concerning for Canadians reason why now especially Canadian whites are fed up with this "mass indian immigration" and what comes with that racism and the Canadian born east indians get put in the same category as the immigrants

PR cannot and must not be given to unskilled immigrants. If you bring skills in trades or medical, you are most welcome. Otherwise, study your Business Management course and go home

Don't lie to yourself or to others - many comes to third rate colleges ONLY because they "may" get PR through some program. Most don't even qualify for the CRS score and should never even be in the country.
The more you demand them to stay - the more the backlash. The more deaths, more depression, more hate. Cut your losses and go back. Most will be happier back home.

Well your government should have kept check on private colleges, could have higher requirements for visa, foresee future, but no They milk international students and cut funding of colleges, problem is changing conditions abruptly, rogue admissions and deceiving students@@Kaur_canada_ Lenient visa policy is to blame, no other countrie give spousal work visa to under graduate students etc. Mukdi gal hai Government just needs foreign currency but no responsibility, If a country gives asylum they provide Accommodation, Cad Government handing out visas they don't even have Accommodation, pumping in Immigrants (even so temporary) but not building up health care and other facilities. One line for the desi community with non students struggle (they milk these students as much as they can). On Government side it's cash inflow, savings on colleges grants, young labour force etc.
The problem is attitude of the students coming in. They just wanna show off everywhere and spoil the Canadian culture & values. These students have made impossible for families to go to movie theatre, restaurants and other places. They have forced Canadian to go against them. Even coffee shops environment has changed bcz of them. They have ruined each and everything. So no support for them.

State is obliged to protect rights of citizens and permanent residents at first instance rather than temporary residents.This is fundamental jurisprudence of citizenship law.If you were made fool by immigration agents then that was your greed your faimly's greed to earn CAD.Buyer's must be aware of whatever they buy.
U guys are here to study. Pick better colleges. Have a skill. There are a lot of skilled jobs but most of international students lack certain skills.
Most of them don't have basic skills to behave in Canadian society, let alone any other skills.

International Students pay equal Taxes and they do have have equal right but for a “period of time”.
Yes it’s true Student visa is a route to PR however it’s never promised by Canadian government, it’s promised my agents who don’t represent government.

So Canadians are making govt aware about this problem. Only Canadian Citizens have right to vote, international students do not have right to vote. The same persons who could not or did not want to work in India are crying foul here. They forget that they came here for short term visas as guests (even as students). When the hosts (Canadian citizens) cannot sustain more guests, it is the responsibility of the guests to return to their home country both for the sake of their families and the citizens of the host country. In india in LPU university, fee for btech course for international students is between ₹170000 to ₹2,80,000 per semester while for indians it is between ₹1,20,000 to ₹1,90,000 per semester. Govt should set a criteria for only International students PR Pathway ( NOT for work permit VISA holders, they should be going back after their work permit expires ) ... Get 7 bands first if person cant get them, should be leaving country .. after this step they should be enrolled into top level university to get proper degree which can help Canada in the terms of any trade or skill likes of nurses, Dr or physios ect ect . Students should be responsible for all financial burden . Ask these 2 if this criteria sound good to them ? I am sur our Govt will not refuse ..
