- Loyalty levels among today’s youth differ significantly from previous generations. This is according to Infoquest’s latest study which measures the youth's loyalty to employers. TrendER founder Mogorosi Mashilo says almost 70% of the sampled youth had more than two jobs at the same time.

Why would the youth be loyal to their employers? When the company is doing well only top management gets fat bonuses and big pay checks but when the company is doing bad the youth (which mostly occupy junior positions due to lack of experience) they get retrenched. There is no loyalty is the game and we as the youth are returning the favour. Nothing deep

I think this job hopping and disloyalty to employers among the youth reflects the hustle culture that is prevalent in South Africa.

Employers themselves are not loyal to anyone, apart from themselves.
That data just shows that Youth are not earning enough hence they consider getting 3 to 5 jobs(considered disloyal to their employers). Speaking from personal experience.

Why would they be loyal It is not about the abundance of jobs but trying to make money because these companies do not increase salaries looking at inflation and companies do retrench. Also because of the treatment of employers because they know there are no jobs

Watched an old woman who was loyal to the company for 30 years get her retrenchment letter and the legal prescibed cheque that could in reality keep her going for a year, . Boss didnt care, he made 160 million at least at kusile and medupi on manhours alone.Claimed to be closing down and sacked everyone cept hes still not closed.

Trade Unionism is so overbearing in SA that it is impossible to lose your job. That's why businesses are closing and moving offshore. Expect a spike in unemployment
